Meet pretty lady Michelle Ekure, a UNIBEN graduate who makes a killing as a shoe cobbler


I love seeing hard working people such as this. Michelle Ekure is from Eku, Ethiope-East LGA of Delta State. She graduated from the University of Benin, Edo State where she bagged a degree in International Studies and Diplomacy. She narrated hoe lack of employment pushed her into making shoes and now she's better off than many of her agemates who'd rather join prostitution and other vices.





She says she makes 50 shoe sales in a week with each shoe starting from an average of 10k.

According to her:
"My inspiration is from God, I never knew I would be a shoemaker. I graduated from the University six years ago, after which I looked for for job, but to know avail. At sometimes I got employed by a company in Lagos, but the boss was owing too much so I left.

"On how it started, there is this other company I buy sandals in Lagos and resell. They sell nice shoes, so one day I thought to myself that I can tell this people to make sandals for me with my label, so I approached them and they said yes. That was how I got my first set of shoes. Then a friend introduced me to a guy that makes shoes. I watch him make shoes one day and I was amazed then I asked him to teach me and he did.

"My target audience are Men of honours, people like the famous Nigerians comedian Alibaba...lol . I make direct sales, but I drive more sales on social media platforms like instagram, facebook and twitter. Micheleleather sales per week is over 50 pairs."

President Buhari selects 30 innovative youths to advise him on ways to push Nigeria forward


The presidency has shortlisted the names of 30 Nigerians who would submit and explain their ideas to the Federal Government on ways to boost Technology, Agriculture, Communications, Power, Fashion and Entertainment in the country.

Dozens of applications were submitted to the Presidency during June's "Aso Villa Demo Day" but the names of the successful 30 were selected for a one-on-one discussion with the Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari at Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, at a scheduled date.

See the MAPOLY undergraduate who washes cars to send himself to school


Dearies, this is Fatai. He works part time at a car wash while he goes to school at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, Ogun State.

According to him:
"My name is Fatai. People call me "Horror". I am a student of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic. I wash cars here for N500. I give my boss N300 and I take N200. I have to do this so that I can pay for school. Every week the lowest amount I save is N7,000. That is after transport and food."
When asked if his earning is enough to see him through in school expenses, Fatai replied:
"Well atleast I'm not begging. You know there's no food for lazy man."
Dearies, Fatai is the real deal! Be like Fatai (even at a bigger or smaller level)!

Coming back from a long pause of their oil pipeline destruction activities, the Niger Delta Avengers militant group says it's not deterred by the actions of the Nigerian military especially the clearance of pipeline vandals by soldiers in Lagos.

In a statement signed by NDA spokesperson Mudoch Agbinibo, the group said today 4 August 2016:
"The Nigeria Military is playing some war game on some illegal bunkering camps and showing video of how they carry out the bombardment. That is so unprofessional don’t think they can intimidate the NDA with those scarp jet bombers. They can deploy fourth generation jet-bombers that will not stop us from fighting for our people.

"We challenge the military to share with the public the militants killed in the so-called sir strike. We are very sure they won’t share the images of militants killed because non was killed except innocent women and children.

"What we are saying is the country should be restructured. The call for restructuring of Nigeria has gone beyond the NDA. The only group of persons against the restructuring is the Villa. The federal government should just listen tot the voice of the citizens instead of playing the deaf ear game.

"We officially saying that @agbiniboND is our new official twitter account handle. Twitter can block or suspend our account but they can’t stop or block our struggle."
