The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, and by the grace of God, fueled by his merit, the next President of Nigeria, Mr. Peter Obi, is back to the country. In the last three weeks, he transversed the world, convincing Nigerians on the need to take back their country and move in sync with the rest of the world.

Kindly ignore the falsehood making the rounds that he was attacked in Abuja today. May God forbid that even the very thought of such barbarism be visited on him.

Obi has consistently reiterated his belief that politics should always be devoid of violence. This remains his political credo.

It is pertinent to note that the news, coming shortly after Barr. Festus Keyamo’s press release, alleging plan by Obi to stage manage his own assassination is worrisome. It shows that the devil may be at work in endless and familiar scheming. We shall continue to entrust Mr. Peter Obi into the protection of the Almighty, while he ensures he is adequately protected to see through the work of re-building Nigeria that providence has entrusted unto him.

He spent the day with the members of the Labour Party from across the country, the Labour Unions and many Nigerians of good will, who gathered in Abuja for the Labour Party National Retreat.

Politics / Kukah At 70 : Obi Commends His Life Of Service To God, Humanity by kenevision(m): 10:19pm On Aug 31, 2022
The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, has rejoiced with the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Revd Matthew Kukah, celebrating his birthday today, while commending him for his life of service to God and humanity.

Obi in his Congratulatory Message described Kukah as a conscience of the nation darkened by corruption, injustice and immorality. He stated that Kukah has remained consistent in pointing the nation to the way of light, through his priestly ministry.

He further commended Kukah for his life of courage, even in the face of difficulties. Obi stated that Kukah never shies away from the truth, and is not afraid to speak truth to power in the face of evil.

"As I rejoice with you on your 70th birthday, I must say that yours have been 70 impactful years in the church and in society. You have remained a consistent voice against corruption, oppression, injustice and evil, which pervade every part of our nation. By your preachings, writings and lifestyle, you have continued to point men to the right way of life.

You are a sincere patriot and a lover of the country, committed to building a better nation. As an apostle of education, you have continued to encourage and invest in education, for the good of the people and development of the nation. You have, in many ways, written your name in the hearts of men, by your lifestyle of charity and humility," Obi said.

Obi prayed God to grant the Bishop more wisdom to lead, health to work and grace to run the race till the end.

You Are Blessing to Universal Church - Obi, Soludo to Okpaleke as he receives the Red Hat in Rome

The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, has congratulated the Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, His Eminence Peter Cardinal Okpaleke who canonically received the Red Hat from His Holiness, Pope Francis, at a Consistory in Rome, today.

In his Congratulatory Message to Cardinal Okpaleke, Obi described him as a huge blessing to, not just the church in Nigeria, but the universal church. Obi stated that Okpaleke's virtues of patience, understanding and wide perspectives on issues remain some of the valuable assets that has continued to propel him in his priestly vocation.

"By this ecclesiastical function, you have thus become a fully fledged Prince of the Universal Church," Obi noted.

Obi praised the Okpaleke's exemplary conduct both as teacher, priest, administrator and bishop, saying that he has gathered great experiences to help him in his new office.

Obi said, "Your priestly vocation has thus far been defined by exemplary conduct, deep spirituality and the admirable quality of allowing Gods purpose to unfold in your life. Your maturity and circumspection in crisis management are apposite for any higher managerial responsibility.

"With your rich background in relating with people and building institutions, we have no doubt that you will bring your vast knowledge and experience to bear in your new position as a Cardinal, which has effectively placed you in the first position among active clergies of the country."

Addressing journalists after the event at St Peter's Basilica Rome, Obi said that he was happy with the number of Nigerians, cutting across regions and religions, who came to identify with another Nigerian on a great occasion. He said that such spirit of love and unity is very characteristic of Nigerians. Obi said that such spirit of oneness, which transcends tribe, is highly needed in Nigeria's political space, especially now the country had been badly wounded by collective effect of bad leadership.

He prayed God to continue to bless the cleric and give him more wisdom to continue to shepherd the flock placed under his care.

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Soludo expressed joy that one of the newly Cardinal is a Nigerian and from Anambra State specifically. He said that he is worthy of emulation, especially now the state is set to regain its pride of place.

Politics / Eid El Kabir: Obi Felicitates With Muslim Faithful by kenevision(m): 2:24pm On Jul 09, 2022
. . . Urges Nigerians to Sustain Hope in Nation

The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, has felicitated with all the Muslim Faithful in Nigeria on the celebration of Eid el Kabir, while urging Nigerians to sustain hope in the nation.

In a message made available to the Press, Obi said the Eid el Kabir celebrations reminded Muslims, and indeed Nigerians, of the need to sincerely love one another and pursue lasting peace and unity. He encouraged them to continue to preach peace and unity in the country, as a critical requirement for national growth and development.

Obi said the season also afforded them the opportunity to pray, in a special way, for the country which, he said, is passing through very severe challenges. He said the nation needs divine intervention to be able to overcome the challenges facing it.

"We are at a very dark moment in our nation's history, where it seems that every noble ideal that makes us a nation is collapsing before our eyes. Insecurity in the country has become unbearable, while our economy continues to struggle under the weight of bad governance and financial mismanagement of our leaders. With prayers and hardwork, we shall overcome," Obi stated.

Obi urged Nigerians not to give up on the country, but renew their zeal in working towards building a new and more productive nation for all. He maintained that with good leadership, Nigeria will be rescued from the doldrums and placed on the path of growth and development.

"We have no other nation but Nigeria, and we must not let it collapse. Let us now break the barriers of religion that divide us, and unite to take back our nation for progress and development," he said.

He finally wished the Muslim Faithful a happy Eid el Kabir celebration.

Politics / This Is Not Peter Obi's Son by kenevision(m): 11:51pm On Jul 03, 2022
These images, claimed by some persons to be Mr Peter Obi's son have been circulating online for a while now.

Let it be known to the public that the photoshopped young man standing on Nigeria's flag is not Oseloka Obi, Mr Peter Obi's son.

It's really depressing that Nigerians can take political propaganda and cheap blackmail to a very unacceptable level.

Neither Mr Peter Obi's son, nor anyone related to Mr Peter Obi would descend low to the level of insulting the integrity and dignity of the Nigerian flag.

Obi is focused on making the country better for all. It is unfair that instead of appreciating his sincere efforts, some persons are fabricating lies to pull him down.

Why don't Nigerian politicians stick to issue based politics, without hatred or jealousy?

Thankfully, the youths are not swayed from their Obidient resolve by these cheap lies.

We must rescue the nation from further collapse and Peter Obi is the man for the job.

Thank you all!

Politics / What Peter Obi Did When He Saw Stranded Passengers At Abuja Airport by kenevision(m): 5:13pm On May 09, 2022
There was a problem at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport this morning.

Travellers to Benin, whose flight was cancelled yesterday, in protest, refused that any plane should leave the airport until their issue was resolved and their plane boarded. They had been at the airport since yesterday.

On recognizing Mr. Peter Obi, who was traveling to the North to continue with his political consultations, they said it was only his flight that they would allow to leave.

However, Obi refused and had to make series of calls that solved their problem. Their flight later boarded simultaneously with that of Peter Obi, as he requested.

Thereafter, the joyous travelers fell over one another taking selfies with Mr. Peter Obi. Afterwards, they started singing to his honour. Watch the attached video through the link below.

Politics aside, Obi is one man who deserves respect and support from Nigerians.

Politics / Zoning: Party Has The Final Say - Peter Obi by kenevision(m): 7:28am On Mar 21, 2022
Against the backdrop of efforts by aspirants for the2023 presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the 2019 vice presidential candidate of the party and one of the hopefuls, Peter Obi, has said that it would be the decision of the party to decide the zone to produce the flag bearer, taking into consideration, such critical factors as competence, equity and fairness.

Obi made the declaration in an interaction with newsmen in Minna, Niger State, in continuation of consultation processes to all parts of the country.

He argued that whatever the party decides on the zoning issue will be in the interest of all the members. According to him, since the party is supreme, its decision on the matter would be binding on all.

Obi bemoaned the rising tide of insecurity in that has led to pupils not going to school and farmers not being able to access their farms.

He remarked that given the advantage of land mass, Niger State has a lot of agricultural potential that could be harnessed for the benefit of the country. He regretted however that lip service is being paid to the sector.

Obi charged Nigerians to shift from consumption to productive economy. He said "we want a productive Nigeria. Today, Nigeria is not productive

Earlier while addressing the state delegates at party secretariat, the former Anambra governor, remarked that though he was yet to declare formally for the presidency, his visit was a mark of respect to the members.
He pleaded that every aspirant for the ticket be accorded level playing ground and equal opportunity to present his case.

Obi stated, is one family that requires collective action to build a better Nigeria.
He charged party members to remember that Nigeria is more important than every individual interest.

He asked Nigerians to do due diligence on the background and antecedents of those seeking their votes in 2023.

The PDP presidential aspirant charged Nigerians to do due diligence on the antecedents and pedigree of those coming to seek their votes in 2023.

The state chairman of the party, Tanko Beji, in his speech, extolled the virtues of Obi, arguing that as one from the private background, he is better placed to manage the resources of the country.

Beji made case for a good Nigerian president, not because he is a Muslim or Christian, northerner or Southerner.

Former governor of the state, Babangida Aliyu, remarked that Nigerians are waiting for PDP, adding however that the party must come as a united front to create impact and attain its dreams of winning in 2023.

Politics / Peter Obi: I’m Preoccupied With Thoughts Of A Better Nigeria, Not 2023 Elections by kenevision(m): 5:15pm On Mar 18, 2022
The former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, Friday, said that he is preoccupied with the thought of a better Nigeria, not how to win political elections in 2023.

Obi, said that he wants to see a Nigerian society where all the sectors of the economy are functioning effectively to liberate the people from the shackles of underdevelopment and poverty sending most Nigerians to their early graves.

He spoke as a special guest of honour during the 80th birthday celebration of the father of African Philosophy, Prof. Uzodinma Nwala, at the Princess Alexandra Auditorium, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN.

He said that Prof. Nwala’s scholarly prowess should be emulated and celebrated in order to position the country on the path of knowledge-based economy for rapid development.

He equally pledged to help the Department of Philosophy, UNN, where he graduated from establish a research centre on African Philosophy.

“Nigerians are always preoccupied by elections, I am not that type of politician. Politics for me is not about winning elections and being in office. For me, it is about building a better society. We are in a society where people don’t know where the next meal will come from but we are not discussing that. We are in a society today where poor businesses cannot get diesel to do their businesses, unfortunately, nobody is discussing that. We are in a society where our universities have been shut down for months, nobody is discussing that. These are the things I want to discuss, not 2023 elections.

“Elections can come when we have dealt with the issues that are bewildering us. I want to see our universities functional and our children back to classrooms. I want to see food on the tables of poor people in the villages. I want to see steady power supply so that our businesses can thrive,” he said.

While talking about Prof. Nwala, he also said “Prof. Nwala, remains one of those scholars that should be celebrated and emulated in Nigeria, unfortunately, we live in a country where people don’t celebrate knowledge, ideas, scholarship. This is the bane of the country because the world is driven by knowledge. We are in a knowledge economy and development. Nigeria does not appreciate knowledge, that is why we are not investing in education. That’s why we are not doing well.

“For me as a student who passed through the tutelage of Prof. Nwala, I remain his son and I celebrate him everyday,” he said.

In his address, the Vice Chancellor of UNN, Prof. Charles Igwe, while lauding the academic ingenuity of Prof. Nwala, who he said took African Philosophy to the global stage, he regretted the loss of academic contents which the generation of the octogenarian bequeathed to the academic world.

The Vice Chancellor who was represented by the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Aloysius-Michaels Okolie, also said that Prof. Nwala’s great idea helped to position Nigeria, and the world at large for greatness, adding that his presence in UNN has ignited the spirit of scholarship and ideology amongst the academia.

In his address, the Acting Head of Department of Philosophy, UNN, Dr. Chugozie Anyaehie, said Prof. Nwala, was the first to globally develop African Philosophy as a teaching course in the university and projected the Department into the global academic history as a young lecturer.

While saying that he was the first graduate of the Department and a one-man-class graduate of the Department in 1967, he said that the Department aspires to sustain and institutionalize his leadership positions on African Philosophy.

He added that Prof. Nwala stood for the integrity of both his colleagues and students in the Department. He also said that the aspiration of the Department to institutionalize his leadership positions on African Philosophy would be enhanced by dedication of a research centre on the discipline in UNN as a place where African Philosophy was birthed.

Prof. Nwala, an ideologist, international scholar and politician was the first Philosophy graduate to be produced by any Nigerian university in 1967. He equally founded the State Volunteer Service Corps, SVSC, to initiate programmes for the reconstruction, rehabilitation and reconciliation of Nigeria after the civil war.

He became an Executive General Secretary of ASUU in 1980 and equally contributed immensely to the 1994-5 National Conference.

Politics / Contribution Of Women In Society, Critical To Development - Obi by kenevision(m): 7:18am On Mar 08, 2022
Former Governor Peter Obi has described as critical to development, the contributions of women in society.

In his message to mark International Women's Day 2022, Obi explained that, beyond providing stability in homes, which are the bedrock of society, women play significant roles in the development, stability and progress of nations.

Obi noted that International Women's Day provides the world the opportunity to celebrate the social, economic and political contributions and achievements of women.

He stated that many women have excelled in many professions, even at the global level. He noted that success is not gender-specific, but open to all, as exemplified by numerous women who gained global recognition by their contributions to society.

He argued that with adequate economic empowerment in form of access to good education, proper health care delivery and poverty alleviation, women will be able to contribute more in society.

He cited the example of the experience of Bangladesh, a comparative nation to Nigeria. He explained that 20 years ago, Bangladesh initiated affirmative policies to help increase women's participation in politics and the economy, with a specific number of seats reserved for women in the Parliament and other constitutional bodies.

"The current and longest serving Prime Minister of Bangladesh is a woman. Their opposition leader is a woman. The Speaker of the Unicameral Parliament is a woman. Leader and Deputy Leader of the Parliament are both women. On the economy, most of the workers in the Bangladesh Apparel Industry, which accounts for about 75% of the country's export income, are mostly women.

"Several studies by Transparency International have also shown that women are less likely to be corrupt than men when given leadership positions. Higher levels of women's participation in public offices are associated with lower levels of corruption," Obi observed.

He further called for more participation of women in nation-building, saying that with them, Nigeria will achieve and sustain the much-desired national development.
