The man named Femi Adepoju said he doubts he'll be able to attend an African church ever again after the positive experience in a UK church.

He wrote on Facebook: "I donated money to a cause in our church in Nottingham and after a week the oyinbo Pastor find time to write me and sent me total amount they received and how they spent it.
"I started giving monthly with direct debit too and church finance find time to write me and thank me o telling me that my giving can even reduce my tax.
"I joined Food bank group to help homeless who we preach to and feed every Wednesday and I asked the assistant Pastor how they used to source for the food and detailed reply was sent to me with a note of thanks.

Politics / Exclusive 2027: North Dumps Tinubu For Jonathan by Kennitrust(m): 9:36am On Aug 11
Home Exclusive 2027: North dumps Tinubu for Jonathan

written by Our Reporter August 8, 2024

By Bayo Davids

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may be walking a tight rope in his bid to remain in office beyond 2027. This is as credible sources have disclosed to this medium that the key Northern figures have rejected the former Lagos State Governor in preference of ex-President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.
The sources who spoke on condition of anonymity told our correspondent that some highly connected religious and traditional leaders have informed their followers against associating themselves with the second term aspiration of President Tinubu.

Should Jonathan who governed Nigerian between May 5, 2010 to May 29, 2015, bows to pressure, he is likely to run on a joint ticket with the former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso who commands a huge voting base in Kano State.

A Governor of one of the Northern states told our correspondent in confidence that the plot is real, stressing that “Many Northern Governors are ready to work with Jonathan if he accepts this offer.”

According to him, Tinubu’s popularity in the North has taken a hit in recent months owing to reasons not unconnected with the economic hardship in the land, caused by the removal of fuel subsidy.

He continued: “President Tinubu is no longer marketable in the North and he won’t be elected. As it stands today, he cannot get 20 per cent votes in the North in 2027. All the Islamic clerics and Ulamas in the North have advised all their followers against any form of support for President Tinubu. ”

Asked why the North wants Jonathan back in the saddle given that they voted against him in 2015, the Governor said, “The former President would serve a single term, completing a Southern term started by Tinubu in 2023. Take it from me, the North will not allow a Tinubu in 2027.

“Again, Jonathan still enjoy a considerable amount of support in the North. He lost in 2015 because of General Muhammadu Buhari’s huge followership coupled with his alliance with the South West geo-political zone,” he added.

Meanwhile, an associate of Dr. Jonathan conversant with the preliminary talks said the former President is a bit skeptical of the plot at the moment given what he called, the betrayal he suffered in the past.

He however added that Jonathan would only take a decision on the matter if a formal approach is tabled before him.

It is not clear yet if the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the largest opposition party in the country will be Jonathan’s chosen platform should he decide to take another shot at the Presidency but the Northern Governor said what is important is Jonathan’s nod of approval.

His words: “The most important thing is for him to agree to run. Party platform is not the issue for now because even if the former President declares on the platform of the Peoples Redemption Party (PDP), we will move with him,” he stated.

Key Northern figures including some federal legislators have in the recent past, took turns to berate Tinubu for what they see as the lopsided nature of the appointments he has made so far, including taking away juicy ministries from the North.

It thus appear that 2027 is the perfect opportunity for the zone to make its voice heard, loud and clear.

Politics / Re: Tell Nigerians Truth About Fuel Subsidy, Bode George Urges Tinubu by Kennitrust(m): 7:55am On Aug 10
sIfioksq:
Bode George should focus on his party's internal issues instead of trying to school Tinubu. The man has been clear about his plans. Transparency is key, and Tinubu is committed to that. The days of hiding behind subsidies are over; it's time for real solutions. Let’s see how PDP can manage the economy before giving advice.
it very true that APC always swapped it's supporters brain with zombies because how can a normal human being will even think of waving down a critical question as this?

Is it too much to ask your drug lord to tell Nigerians what is happening in our oil sector? undecided

Hmmm

The most important thing that Nigerian needs now is the reduction in the price of this product that controls all sections of our economy.

How can we pay so much for something that is deposited in our backyard... It heartbreaking. And Tinubu and his cartels are the sole beneficiary of this pains they inflict on the citizens.

Houseontherock1:
All the money used to pay for palliatives and other paddings including the money used to campaign against the protest could be used to pay for fuel subsidy so the price per ltr can go back to N200. This is one "palliative" that'll reach EVERYONE positively and whoops... problem half solved! Also just the same way naira was floated, "unfloat" it and open the borders for food while we grow our own grains so the poor can breathe! Take a closer look at the subsidy payment and block loopholes!
before the protest was scheduled to hold, the government was planning to increase taxes on different commodities to enlarge their pocket.

So, they don't want to reverse some of their evil policies so they can have enough money for profligacy lifestyle.

I wish this protest will bring a change

If you protest, you die

If you don't protest, you die

So it better to die for something than to die for nothing.

The situation of Nigeria today is already "a mass killing weapon" and we have the duty to rescue ourselves and the generation unborn

Protest against bad government is inevitable for all well meaning Nigerians

I'm also prepared for this protest
