Boko Haram Faction Beheads Over Seven Captives After Failed Escape Attempt In Borno, Others Forced To Watch

A faction of Boko Haram terrorists known as Jama’atu Ahlis-Sunna Lidda’Awati Wal-Jihad (JAS) has beheaded more than seven victims who attempted to escape from their captivity in Borno State, in a horrifying incident that has further exposed the worsening humanitarian crisis in Nigeria’s North-East.

SaharaReporters gathered that the gruesome incident occurred on Tuesday evening inside one of the terrorists’ hideouts, where dozens of abducted civilians, mostly women and children, are still being held under brutal conditions.

A disturbing video obtained by SaharaReporters, which could not be published due to its extremely gory content, showed armed terrorists, including children, surrounding the victims after they were captured.

The victims were then executed after their escape attempt failed. Sources described that their bodies were later displayed in a cruel manner inside the camp as a warning to others.

According to multiple accounts, the victims, said to be more than seven, were caught while attempting to flee captivity.

The terrorists carried out the executions in front of other abductees, intensifying fear among the remaining captives.

SaharaReporters also gathered that the same faction of terrorists is still holding about 416 women and children in captivity.

A source revealed that within the group of abductees, some children have fallen sick and died due to harsh conditions, starvation, and lack of medical care, adding that the terrorists themselves reportedly buried the deceased victims within the camp area.

The source further explained that the situation inside the camp remains dire, with continuous suffering among the abducted civilians.

Meanwhile, the Borno South Youth Alliance (BOSYA) has raised an alarm over the worsening situation, saying it has made several attempts to intervene and negotiate the safe release of at least 50 women and children from the total number of 416 captives.

Speaking exclusively to SaharaReporters on Wednesday, BOSYA said it received a disturbing video at about 5:18 PM on Tuesday showing the execution of men, both young and old, who reportedly tried to escape from JAS/Boko Haram captivity.

“We at Borno South Youth Alliance (BOSYA) have tried every possible intervention and humanitarian process available, yet the 416 women, children, and a few men in captivity have largely been abandoned to their fate,” the group said.

BOSYA stressed that the video was not shared to promote terrorism or violence, but to draw urgent attention to the deteriorating situation in captivity.

“This video is not intended to promote terrorism or any act related to it, but rather to expose the painful reality on the ground, a reality we have spent over two months trying to prevent through continuous mediation and humanitarian pleas,” the group added.

The youth organisation made a passionate appeal to Nigerians across all regions, political actors, and international organisations to urgently intervene in securing the release of the captives.

“Borno South Youth Alliance (BOSYA) is calling on well-meaning Southern Borno indigenes, political office holders, political aspirants, every patriotic Nigerian from the North, South, East, and West, as well as international organizations, to urgently come to the rescue of these 416 women and children by supporting efforts toward the release of the first 50 women and children as earlier announced,” BOSYA said.

The group further revealed the escalating toll of the crisis inside the camp.

“Four to five people are already dead. More victims are sick, and some men who attempted to escape have now been killed,” it said.

It added: “Lives are involved, and unimaginable suffering is taking place in captivity among these helpless people who feel abandoned and forgotten.”

Peter Obi Did Not Fail Us: The ₦10.8 Billion Sacrifice We Cannot Ignore
theportcitynews.com
Peter Obi
How do we watch a man bleed for us, yes, he literally took bullets for us, and then turn around and treat his sacrifice like yesterday’s news? For three unbroken years, Peter Obi has been on the streets. Not in Dubai. Not in some air-conditioned mansion waiting for election season. He has been moving from city to city, town to town, village to village, and country to country, rain or shine, day or night, keeping the flame of opposition alive when almost everyone else had gone quiet.

He has visited hospitals where our people lay broken by calamity. He has sat with IDPs, wiped tears, shared meals, and reminded forgotten Nigerians that they are still seen. He has poured his own money, conservatively around ₦300 million every single month, into donations to Almajiri schools and schools of nursing across the country, boreholes, and aid for victims of disaster, as well as his hotels, transport, and staff allowances. Do the math: that is ₦3.6 billion every single year for three good years and still counting. Relentless giving, just to keep the opposition going.

While he was doing all this, they came for his family. His wife was attacked. His son was attacked. His brother’s property in Lagos was demolished. And in his own businesses, the businesses he built with his bare hands before any of us knew his name, the government inflicted losses of over ₦20 billion between 2024 and 2026 alone. Yet Peter Obi never folded. He never ran. He never sold out. He simply kept standing for you, for me, for the idea that Nigeria can still be better.

His only “offence”? He dared to say he wants to serve this country as President. He dared to believe that leadership should not be the exclusive property of a few godfathers or recycled politicians who only remember Nigeria exists when it is time to campaign.

And now we are comparing him to Atiku? The same Atiku who used to relax in Dubai until election year, then fly in to make promises? Or Amaechi, who is nowhere to be found until the start of the coalition? Peter Obi changed that script. He brought energy, consistency, and presence. He made opposition real, not seasonal. He made politics feel human again.

So I ask you, my brothers and sisters, especially those of us who still have a conscience: Why are we not zoning this ADC ticket to the South to honour this man’s sacrifice? Why are we pretending that fairness, equity, and national unity are just beautiful words we say during campaigns? Peter Obi did not ask for a crown. He earned it with sweat, tears, bruises, and billions of his own money. He kept the opposition space breathing when many had given up. He stood when standing was dangerous. He gave when giving was costly.

This is not about one man. This is about us. This is about whether we still have the moral courage to say “thank you” to someone who took the bullet for all of us. This is about whether we want a Nigeria where sacrifice is rewarded with respect, or one where loyalty is punished with abandonment.

Well-meaning Nigerians, the eyes of history are on us right now. Let us not fail this test. Let the ADC ticket go to Peter Obi, not as charity, but as justice. Not as favour, but as the bare minimum we owe a man who has given everything so that the rest of us can still dream of a better country. For the sake of our children. For the sake of our conscience. For the sake of the Nigeria we all claim to love.

Peter Obi did not fail us.
The real question is, will we fail him?

‘What do you mean?’-Man Storms MTN Nigeria Office as 150GB ‘Unlimited’ Data Vanishes in 6 Days
gistlover.com
A Nigerian man confronted MTN after his 150GB “unlimited” data plan reportedly finished in just six days, sparking outrage online.
According to reports circulating on social media, the subscriber had purchased a ₦30,000 “Silver plan” advertised to offer 150GB of high-speed data before being throttled to 2GB daily.
However, the man claimed the entire allocation was exhausted within less than a week, prompting him to storm an MTN office to demand an explanation.

A Nigerian man has sparked widespread reactions online after confronting officials of MTN Nigeria over the rapid depletion of his 150GB data plan, which reportedly finished in just six days.

In a viral video, staff members were seen presenting usage logs to justify the consumption, but the man remained unconvinced, insisting the data usage did not align with his actual internet activity. He also threatened to take the matter online, escalating the confrontation.

The incident has reignited concerns among Nigerians over the transparency of so-called “unlimited” data plans offered by telecom providers. Many users took to social media to share similar experiences and frustrations.

One user, @GeniusHawlah, questioned the terminology, writing: “Omo the Oxymoron here is loud, dafuq is 150gb unlimited? 😂 Is it 150gb or unlimited?”

Another user, @Dar_pips, recounted a similar ordeal: “They scammed me last year also, 150 Gb finished in 4 days.”

Echoing the sentiment, @highfiger_ added: “Why call it unlimited when it’s not?”

Some reactions also pointed to broader systemic issues. @mr__prolific stated: “This is what happens when a country has no consumer protection laws. Every company extort Nigerian citizens.”

Meanwhile, others attributed the fast data depletion to heavy usage patterns such as streaming and background app activity, though many insisted telecom companies must provide clearer disclosures about how such plans work.
