Politics / Nigerian Govt Suspends Channels TV For Interviewing IPOB by kennyify88: 9:57am On Apr 27, 2021
The federal government has suspended a leading media outfit in Nigeria, Channels Television.

The authorities also announced a fine N5 million for breach of the broadcast code.

In a letter by National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Acting Director-General, Armstrong Idachaba, complained about the Channels 7pm live broadcast programme of Sunday, April 25, 2021.

NBC told the Managing Director of Channels TV that the TV station erred by allowing a leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to make secessionist and inciting declarations without caution.

The regulator accused the news channel of allowing the guest speaker to make derogatory, false and misleading statements about the Nigerian army, despite being proscribed by a court of law.
Religion / 2023: There Will Be No Elections – Nigerian Prophet Declares by kennyify88: 9:51am On Apr 27, 2021
Apostle Paul Okikijesu of the Christ Apostolic Miracle Ministry has prophesied that there will be no election in 2023 if the politicians refuse to change their ways.
According to him, presidential aspirants must stop shedding blood of the innocent.
“Thus says the Lord: If the politicians refuse to change, there won’t be any Election in 2023,” he said in a statement to DAILY POST on Tuesday.
“If the politicians continue with bloodshed and continue to honour the darkness more than I the Lord; then no election will take place in 2023.
“No election will take place in 2023 if the presidential aspirants refuse to stop bloodshed:
“Thus says the Lord: No Election will take place; if the presidential aspirants refuse to stop bloodshed, if they refuse to cater for the poor and honour the religious advisers.
“If they refuse to cease seeking one another’s lives, and stop seeking the downfall of each other; because these activities will increase from June 2021 until January 2022.
“Thus says the Lord: There will be no Election in 2023, if the presidential aspirants do not stop taking a swipe at one another.
“If they continue to investigate each other, in order to ruin one another’s reputation; because these activities will lead to various mysterious events that will not make the Election take place.”
Crime / Buhari Govt Sponsoring Insecurity In Southeast – Nnamdi Kanu Alleges by kennyify88: 6:33am On Apr 23, 2021
Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has identified those behind insecurity in the southeastern part of the country.

Kanu accused the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government of sponsoring insecurity in the region.

He claimed that the move was to pave way for the military to invade the southeast and kill more people.

Speaking through the spokesman of IPOB, Emma Powerful, Kanu urged the Federal Government to focus more on crushing bandits and terrorists.

A statement by Powerful reads partly: “Nothing can change our resolve to free Biafra from the Nigeria bondage. No amount of propaganda by Government can make us change our mind.

In case the Presidency don’t know, BIAFRA is more imminent than they think. The night is far spent, and the new dawn is almost here with the Rising Sun of our great nation at the threshold!

“The threat by the Presidency to order military operation to crush the animals disturbing the peace in South East, has simply confirmed our alarm all the while that the federal government is the one sponsoring the escalating insecurity in the zone to provide an excuse for another military operation to kill more innocent Biafrans. It’s only unfortunate that the political elite for their selfish interests have failed to realise this.

“But we ask the Presidency to first crush the bandits and terrorists overrunning the entire North and middle Belt before embarking on any military operation in the South East, otherwise they may have to prepare very well.”
Crime / Stop Pushing Me, I Can Crush You All – Buhari To Bandits by kennyify88: 6:12am On Apr 23, 2021
President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the latest killing of tens of people by bandits in Zamfara State.
The Nigerian leader warned that “such wanton disregard for life will be brought to an end sooner than later.”
President Buhari in a reaction to the incident said that “this insane and persistent violence against innocent people must stop”.
He added that “these criminals should stop pushing their luck too far by believing that the government lacks the capacity to crush them.”
The President directed the military, security and intelligence agencies to take immediate steps to close all existing gaps in their operations being exploited by criminals to wreak havoc.
He expressed hope the Special Operation launched by the military at 3:00am on Thursday from Maru Local Government area will prove decisive in ridding the state of the “frequent and horrifying “bandit activities.
“The violence against poor villagers who are struggling with poverty and other severe economic challenges is not going to be tolerated by this administration,” the President warned.
Buhari has called on the security forces to “redouble their efforts in bringing an end to this mindless violence against innocent people.”
“Let’s not give these criminals any opportunity to succeed by taking the war to their own camps and stop them in their tracks before they even have the time to respond under our massive fire power.”
Buhari reassured the people of Zamfara State that, “despite the latest set back in our efforts to protect our citizens, there will be no compromise in our determination to defeat these enemies of humanity.”
Crime / Bandits: Only Way To Stop Banditry Is Kill Them All – El-rufai by kennyify88: 3:02pm On Apr 22, 2021
Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has said the only way to end banditry in Nigeria was for the military to kill them all. El-Rufai said the military should storm forests where bandits stay and bomb the whole place, thereby eliminating them. He spoke at a dialogue tagged: “Financing Safe Schools: Creating Safe Learning Communities” in Abuja, yesterday. El-Rufai also disclosed that all governors of the North have agreed that bandits must be wiped out. He said: “Our position as governors and we are unanimous in this because we, the northern states’ governors, met with the president on this subject our unanimous position is to wipe out the bandits. “We must go into these forests; nobody living in that forest is innocent and just kill them all. It is the only way to end this.” The Governor also disclosed that the military needed sophisticated weapons to effectively wipe out bandits. El-Rufai said both land and air powers were needed to confront bandits. “We need the combination of airpower, and we need troops on the ground augmented by local expertise and knowledge. “We need just one, two, three months operation to just try to kill all the bandits. It’s the only way to stop this. So long as these bandits are being paid, it’ll remain a business. “So the only option that we have is to ensure that we kill them all. What you see is the coordinated action with air power, use of drones,” he added.
Politics / APC Members Are ‘cultists’ – PDP by kennyify88: 12:16pm On Apr 22, 2021
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State has described members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as ‘cultists’.

The PDP Chairman in Ogun State, Hon. Sikirulahi Ogundele said this while addressing newsmen at the party’s secretariat on Wednesday.

According to Ogundele, the PDP remained the only political party in Nigeria, stressing that that was why many members of the APC were willing to join the party.
“Many people want to join the APC.

Those who have defected to the APC are ready to come back.

They have told us. We know what they are facing there. In fact, the real APC members are ready to decamp. This is because they know we are the only ones running a political party.”

“What they do in APC is cult. They operate a cult group in APC. If you don’t belong, you cannot belong. They are running a cult group there. That’s why they have given democracy another definition – ‘Government of a few set of people for a few set of people’.

With everything they think they are doing, there’s no effect on the people of Ogun State. We are the only one who can run a good government,” Ogundele boasted.
DAILY POST had earlier reported that the factions in the party on Wednesday put their differences behind, while agreeing to work together for a successful outing in 2023.
The State Chairman assured members of the party that nobody would be discriminated against in the scheme of things.

Politics / Our Professors May Work In Togo Bakeries If Nigeria Breaks Up — Lai Mohammed by kennyify88: 9:54am On Apr 22, 2021
Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture, has cautioned the elites to stop fanning calls for the nation to break up, stating that professors may be left with no option than to work in bakeries in neighbouring Togo just to survive, if that happens.

Speaking in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, April 21, the minister said, “Our challenge is more with the elites, not with the common people. Go to the remotest part of Nigeria today, you will see Nigerians from different tribes, culture and religion living together peacefully.

Elites ought to take the lead in cementing the unity of the country, but when the elites start preaching tribal hatred, people believe them because they think they know better.

Nigeria accounts for 70 per cent of West Africa’s population and if Nigeria should disintegrate today, we are going to overrun Benin Republic, Togo, Niger and other neighbouring countries.

The elites will suffer more because some professors could be working in bakeries in Togo just to survive. We saw it happened when the Liberians came here during their civil war.

It is in their own enlightened interest that they should work to fix Nigeria. Many of them have more than one passport — American, British, Irish — and at the first crack of trouble, they are gone.”

Politics / IPOB Rejects Merging ESN, Ebubeagu, Says Light, Darkness Never Works Together by kennyify88: 7:46pm On Apr 19, 2021
The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Monday, restated that its security outfit, the Eastern Security Network (ESN) would not identify with the newly established Ebubeagu.

DAILY POST recalls that the five governors in the Southeast recently launched Ebubeagu as a security outfit for the region to tackle the increasing rate of insecurity.

Some concerned Nigerians particularly from the Southeast have called for the merge of the two security outfits for the benefit of the region.

However, in a statement issued on Monday by its spokesman, Emma Powerful, IPOB described the call as unreasonable, stressing that light and darkness can not work together.

The statement reads in part: ”We have noted with keen interest, the genuine calls by some eminent Igbos for collaboration between our gallant Eastern Security Network, ESN; and the ghost Ebubeagu security network recently floated by the Southeast governors.

We have equally noted similar calls by some self-acclaimed but unreliable Igbo elders and Ohanaeze chieftains.

“But we have a simple question for them all: can light and darkness work together?

We all knew the circumstances that gave birth to ESN.

It was when the governors woefully failed to stand with the people who were being raped and slaughtered daily by Fulani herdsmen and jihadists that our leader, based on the yearnings by the people established ESN to save the situation.

And ever since then, the narrative has changed.

Politics / Alleged Printing Of N60bn: Obaseki Was In APC, He Knows Them – Wike by kennyify88: 7:26pm On Apr 19, 2021
The Rivers State Governor, Nyelsom Wike has backed his Edo State counterpart, Governor Godwin Obaseki on the alleged printing of N60 billion by the Federal Government.

DAILY POST recalls that the Edo State Governor had recently accused the Federal Government of printing N60 billion to support allocation for States and Local Governments in March.

The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, had dismissed the claim, stating that the governor’s comment was untrue.

However, Obaseki’s claim had generated controversies as some concerned Nigerians including the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has called for the Minister’s resignation.

Similarly, Governor Wike in a tweet on his verified Twitter handle on Monday said Obaseki understands the All Progressives Congress Government, hence there was an element of truth in his claim.

“Nigerians need to know the true state of our economy and the truth concerning the printing of N60bn by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
“If you hear what the Central Bank Governor said, instead of answering the question Nigerians are asking, he said the governors do not want to pay back the bailout fund.
“That is not an issue. Bailout is a loan, if you want to take it, go ahead, but answer whether or not you printed N60 billion”.
Crime / ESN Not After Tribe, Religion But Terrorists – Nnamdi Kanu by kennyify88: 8:59pm On Apr 16, 2021
The leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has clarified that the Eastern Security Network was not established to fight against a particular tribe or religion but against every terrorist. Recall that the IPOB’s security outfit had several times been accused of launching attacks on Northerners residing in the Southeast. Also, the former Inspector General of Police, IGP, Muhammed Adamu had accused IPOB of recently attacking the Imo State Police Headquarters and the correctional centre in Owerri which led to the release of over 1,800 inmates. But the IPOB leader, in a tweet on his official Twitter page on Tuesday, said the ESN only attacks terrorists who kill regardless of tribe or religion. According to him, those against the goal of the ESN should be regarded as terrorists or slaves. “Eastern Security Network is not after PEOPLE or any tribe/religion. “ESN is after TERRORISTS because terrorists kill people, regardless of tribe/religion. “If you’ve a problem with that, you’re either a terrorist or a slave”, Kanu tweeted.
Crime / Hunger, Hardship In ‘evil Forests’ As Kidnappers, Bandits Demand Foodstuffs Also by kennyify88: 8:45pm On Apr 16, 2021
The current economic reality being faced by Nigerians may have spread to the forests where criminal elements reside as kidnappers and bandits now demand bags of rice, cartons of noodles, bread and other food items as part of the conditions to free their captives. It has been revealed that the level of deteriorating security situation bedeviling the entire nation at the moment may not be unconnected to the current hardship in the land birthed by high cost of living as prices of essential commodities in the market have continued to skyrocket. Recently, abductors of some residents of Kiyi and Anguwar Hausawa community in Kuje and Abaji area councils of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, told members of the families of their hostages to include food items in the ransom. Some of the items demanded by the kidnappers included bags of rice, noodles, spaghetti and cartons of seasoning cubes. According to a relative of one of the victims who identified himself simply as Joshua, the items were taken along with N1.5 million as condition for the release of each abductee. Findings revealed that all the families of the eight people who were kidnapped alongside a Pastor of the RCCG, in Kiyi had to purchase foodstuffs and condiments for the kidnappers as demanded. According to Joshua, “Other family members did the same thing before their kidnapped relatives were released. “If you fail to buy those things and take only the cash to them, they will collect it and still hold the victim until you get the foodstuffs for them.” Similarly, late last year, families of those kidnapped from Ushafa in Abuja were instructed by the kidnappers to include 30 loaves of bread, 40 packets of cigarettes and other items. This was done alongside the payment of ransome before the victims were released. This trend has stimulated reactions from concerned Nigerians as some have blamed the bandits and Fulani militias for making farming activities difficult for farmers across the country which according to them, has resulted in food crisis. Some believe that the inability of governments in all levels to attend to the plights of the citizens particularly in the area of job creation, has plunged the entire nation into unimaginable hardship which may have been extended to criminal elements in their various hideouts. A resident of Kaduna State where scores were recently abducted by bandits, Ijanebu Odeh, traced the trend to lack of job opportunities which has triggered unbearable hunger in the land. According to her: They are doing that because of the situation of the country. Imagine how employers are sacking their workers, leaving them with frustrations and hunger, to even get a job in this country now, one needs connection and when you don’t have the connection, then there’ll be no job for you. “Those kidnapping and demanding foods for ransom are hungry. They are people that think of how to feed their belly and those of their families too. “No working class person or a businessman will just decide to go into kidnapping because he/she has money to provide whatsoever they need. “Just of recent here in Kaduna, El-rufai sacked so many local govt workers, leaving them jobless and most of these workers have families to cater for. “So you see, the Govt is not trying at all and they are the cause of all these kidnappings. They should provide jobs for the youths because not everyone is good at business and there is the need to do something concerning the country’s poor economy. “It’s not that there’s no money but our leaders have decided to take all the money to themselves and their family members.” Meanwhile, Simon Bameyi, a radio presenter who spoke with DAILY POST correspondent via telephone interview was of the view that poisoning the food items before handing them over to the Kidnappers, would be a better way of eliminating them. He said: “It’s cool. Let’s poison the food and give them. Kidnappers killed a police officer in my area yesterday and abducted no fewer than four people. “In fact, since this year, this place has been their abode. They also deserve to die so whenever they demand for food items, it should be poisoned.” Similarly, Aguredam Keghter Moses, State Coordinator Africa Youth Union Commission, Benue State Chapter, lamented how prices of food items have skyrocketed in the market. “Do you know how much foodstuff is in the market now? Bandits are not allowing farmers to go to farm. This has created hunger and poor supply of foodstuffs. “If not hunger what else could make kidnappers to demand for foodstuffs? They prevented farmers from engaging in their usual farming activities and now they are also facing the reality and the repercussions of their actions”. Also, an educationist in Makurdi, the Benue State Capital told DAILY POST correspondent in an interview that the country is currently “about survival of the fittest”. According to him, “Kidnappers asking for food as ransom! As hilarious as it might sound, it just exposes us to the current reality of things in the land. It’s about survival of the fittest and in this case, the kidnappers are holding firm because one is beginning to wonder why there is this sudden rise in cases of kidnapping and banditry. “There’s hunger in the land, universities keep churning out thousands of graduates yearly with no employment opportunities, farmers and herders crisis is persisting daily, families are losing their means of livelihood. This sudden food for ransom is a clear departure from the norm. This is simply an act of desperation for survival. “The government of the day needs to sit up because it is in this same country in 2020 that foods meant for the poor as palliatives were stored and not given to the masses even when there was hunger ravaging the land. “They shouldn’t forget that desperate situation calls for desperate measures or like Sound sultan said ‘one day, the bush meat go catch the hunter’. A word is enough for the salacious”. Meanwhile, when contacted for comment on the way forward, the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mbah was unable to take his calls and could not respond to text messages forwarded to him.

Politics / 2023: I Foresee Election May Not Hold, Muslim-muslim Ticket For APC – Ayodele by kennyify88: 2:28pm On Apr 16, 2021
The Leader of INRI Evangelical spiritual church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has released some prophecies concerning the 2023 general elections.

According to him, the election may not hold on the stipulated date because of insecurity, adding that the country must seek God’s face if they want the polls to hold.

He said he foresees that there will be need to change the date at different times due to insecurity.

He also revealed that ahead of 2023, PDP will lose two governors to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

“If we want to do election in 2023, we need to seek divine intervention because there will be so much of insecurity before the election which will make the government to postpone the date of election at different times.

“APC reconciliation committee led by Yobe governor will suffer gang up, I advise APC not to do their convention when they want to do it to avoid confusion and many troubles, some will be bringing setback for the chairman.

“Muslim-Muslim ticket in APC is as good as total failure, if they try it, they will fail in 2023, they should be careful so the party will not break by the end of this year.

“If PDP can work with Saraki, they will get the best ahead of 2023, the party will lose two governors who are moles in the party, they should put efforts to achieve the best.’’

Politics / Katsina: Southerners Express Fear Over Northern Leaders’ Reprisal Threat by kennyify88: 2:25pm On Apr 14, 2021
The threat from some northern leaders earlier this week of a likely reprisal attack on southerners residing in the North is already generating palpable fear among southerners living in Katsina State.

Sources informed DAILY POST that the threat is causing many of the southerners to now live in perpetual fear of being attacked by angry northern mobs.

In a statement last Thursday, the governor Matawalle Bello of Zamfara, throwing caution to the wind, warned that northerners may start seeking revenge on southerners living in the North.

“No community, or region has the monopoly of violence.

“The North has more than what it takes to respond to any kind of aggression and hatred,” Governor Matawalle was quoted to have said.

In the same spirit, a serving member of the current Nigerian Senate, Senator Ahmed Baba Kaita, representing Katsina North Senatorial District, in a piece he titled, “The North: When silence is no longer an option”, warned of the looming danger to southerners living in the North.

“That the river is calm doesn’t mean there are no crocodiles beneath.

That the North is taking physical and verbal insults stoically and with dignified silence doesn’t mean the North is either out of reprisal options or is lacking in expertise in how to play the game the way it’s crazily and irresponsibly being played,”
Senator Kaita said.

DAILY POST reliably gathered from sources that the inciting statement from Governor Matawalle and his other co-travellers has led to countless calls from family and well-wishers who have people residing in the north to evacuate now before the situation gets out of hand.

A lady who did her NYSC in the North and stayed back to work in one of the Northern States, said “before now due to activities of bandits and terrorists my family members have been on my neck to return to the south but I blatantly refused.

But with this threat coming from a whole governor, It seems I don’t have a choice but to return to the south now.”

Another southerner said, “finally, the time to leave the North for me has come.

These Northerners don’t joke at all when they say something, they don’t just do it, they over do it.”
He cited instances of when kidnapping became popular in the North.

“The kidnapping industry took a whole new dimension when they came into it full time.

“Nobody is safe anymore.
“They kidnap anything, whether rich or poor.

“But I won’t leave the North. If they want to kill me let them kill me but I will send my family to the south as soon as school closes for holiday.

Wherever man is, when it’s time to die, man must die,” another southerner said.

“Deep down inside where we know as home now is the North because this is where we reside and make a living.

This is where we really feel at home. I only go to the south for ceremonies when it becomes mandatory. But if they say they will kill us, we have no choice than to run for our dear lives.

But we are praying seriously for the government to find a solution to these problems so that we can feel free and live anywhere as one Nigeria,” another southerner admits.

However, several notable voices have dismissed the threat to life and properties of southerners living in the North from the Zamfara Governor and others.
Here are some of them:

“It is not justifiable to say that because northerners are being killed in the south, we are also going to kill southerners in the north.

That is not correct and ACF is against it. That is the easiest way to destroy this country if everyone takes the law into his hands and decides to take revenge.

We are completely against that,” Arewa Consultative Forum said.
“We are not happy with the governor’s statement.

Such a statement should not have come from a leader holding the sensitive position of a state governor,” said the Chairman Yoruba Council of Obas and Chiefs in Northern Nigeria, Alhaji Mohammed Arigbabuwo.

“I am sure that he (Matawalle) is just trying to gain the support of APC in order to win a second term in office.

“I am disappointed at the way the man spoke. The problem is about herdsmen having issues with the local farmers and in the course of the clash people get killed,”

Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s Spokesman, Alex Ogbonnia said on his part.
Nevertheless, the southerners based in the North are not taking the threat from Matawalle lightly as some of them are already looking for an alternative way out of the quagmire.
One of the issues that generated this public outcry by Governor Matawalle and others may not be too far-fetched from the Sasha market crisis that occurred in the month of February.

Politics / Ipob’s ESN Are Bandits Doing A Lot Of Evil In South East – Gov Umahi by kennyify88: 1:49pm On Apr 14, 2021
From www.dailypost.com.ng

The Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, on Wednesday described the Eastern Security Network, ESN, as bandits and criminals.

Umahi made the allegation while accusing the ESN of doing evil within the Southeast forests.

Speaking on Channels Television’s ‘Sunrise Daily’ programme, Umahi stressed that the region’s governors would not allow such illegality in the Southeast.

Umahi insisted that individuals would not be allowed to take the laws into their hands.

He said: “And so, we won’t allow people to take the laws into their hands by killing cows and killing people. But I have to tell you that herders/farmers’ conflicts are not the only security challenges we have in South-East, we have the issue of kidnapping.

“And of late, we have bandits that are now doing a lot of evil and saying they are Eastern Security Network.

“They commit a lot of crime and say they are IPOB, and later IPOB will come out and say we had no hand in this, we had no hand in that.”

Leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu had in December 2020 established ESN to combat killer herdsmen and general insecurity in the Southeastern part of the country.

Following the establishment of ESN, a lot of youths in the Southeast have been recruited into the security outfit.

Politics / 2023: PDP Accuses Tambuwal Of Igniting Crisis In North West States by kennyify88: 5:06am On Apr 13, 2021
Members of the People’s Democratic Party have accused the Sokoto State, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of igniting crisis among members of the party in the North-West states.

They accused him of masterminding crisis in Kaduna, Kano and Jigawa as well as other states of the zone for his interest ahead of the 2023 presidency.

This is coming at the time when the party is preparing to elect its zonal leaders of the six zones.

It was reported that the party’s zonal congress in Kaduna ended in violence, between the supporters of Tambuwal and the former Governor of Kano State Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Supporters of the two leaders clashed, destroying ballot boxes before the commencement of the congress, over the positioning of the North-West zonal vice chairman of the party and supporting rival faction of the PDP in Kano.

Kwankwaso and the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aminu Wali had been at loggerheads over the supremacy of power in the state.

Kwankwaso had in an interview with BBC Hausa service accused Tambuwal of meddling in the affairs of the party in Kano and other states as part of his preparation for the 2023 presidential ambition.

“It is unfortunate that Mr Tambuwal in his opinion doesn’t want us from the Kwankwasiyya faction to be elected for positions,”

In Jigawa also, some members of 2015, 2019 gubernatorial candidate of the PDP lead faction Mal. Aminu Ibrahim Ringim has also accused Tambuwal of taking sides in the crisis in the state.

Two factions emerged after the conduct of the 2021 general elections in Jigawa State, that of the Sule Lamido lead faction and the Aminu Ibrahim Ringim lead faction.

The latter accused Lamido of sabotaging the party to win the 2019 and 2021 elections of the party, an accusation he denied.

Also, a chieftain in PDP in Kaduna, Adamu Musa Lele in his interview with (Aminiyya) alleged that Tambuwal’s involvement in states’ affairs e party may cause injuries to the party ahead of the 2023 elections.

He accused Tambuwal of not honouring the agreement reached among party stakeholders on the 1st of March 2021.

Lere urged the PDP National leadership to call Tambuwal to order for the unity of the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.

While responding through his Media aid Muhammad Bello, Tambuwal denied the allegations.

He said all he was doing was to ensure peace and unity of the party, having been the chairman of the PDP’s Governors forum.

Politics / Dambazau, Four Top Northern Leaders Sponsors Of Boko Haram – OPC Alleges by kennyify88: 11:08am On Apr 12, 2021
The O’odua Peoples Congress has slammed the former Chief of Army Staff, Abdurahman Dambazau (retd) for likening them, as well as the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to Boko Haram.
DAILY POST had reported that the former Chief of Army Staff, on Saturday compared the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)and the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) with Boko Haram.
Dambazzau speaking at the inauguration of Army War College Nigeria Course in Abuja, said that those groups are like Boko Haram sect who don’t believe in the oneness of Nigeria.
Reacting, OPC in a statement released by its Publicity Secretary Mr Yinka Oguntimehin, said the former Army Chief was suffering from ”acute dementia and gradually losing touch with the realities of the moment.”
According to OPC, Dambazau and four top Northern leaders in 2014 before the general election, were behind the recruitment of bandits into the country.
“Dambazau’s statement that OPC and IPOB are very much the same as the dreaded Boko Haram was made in bad faith. Such statements raise questions about his intentions, interests and morality as a former COAS that has been supporting bandits financially and technically.
“This same former chief of army staff, together with four top Northern leaders had in 2014, before the general election organized the recruitment of bandits into the country.
“Moreso, when he became the minister of Interior under President Buhari, he pleaded that the Federal Government raise over N800 billion to settle the bandits; a request that was opposed by Nigerians.
“However, for such a person to say OPC is the same as Boko Haram, is not only demeaning but also most unfortunate to say the least.
“The ex-minister is not in his right frame of mind and should have never been trusted with fight against insurgency,” the statement said.

Religion / God Not Happy With Buhari Govt’ – Nigerian Pastor Carries Coffin In Protest by kennyify88: 9:18am On Apr 12, 2021
The General Overseer of Resurrection Praise Ministry, Archbishop Samson Benjamin protested against the Buhari administration on Sunday in Lagos.

Benjamin, popularly known as Jehovah Sharp Sharp, carried a coffin as he marched through the streets of Festac.

The Bishop claimed God asked him to do so because He wasn’t happy with the government and the state of the nation.

The cleric explained that his action was the outcome of “a spiritual journey of more than one year”.

“From the 15th of September 2019 up until this moment, I have not eaten food cooked by fire or any pleasant food, I have been seeking the face of God over this great country.

“Last week, I had a mortal vacation, which was a solitary confinement where I didn’t talk to any human to be with the cabinet of the trinity, I didn’t see the sun, moon, clouds.’

“What you are seeing me do here right now is what the Prophets of Old would do. God will ask them to carry a symbol when he wants to pass a message to the leaders of the nation.

“He said to me ‘Go and carry a coffin on your head, it is not furniture or anything for interior decoration, it is good for nothing, it is at the end of the life of a man that he is put into a coffin.”

Benjamin quoted the message he heard: “Tell the leaders that they have intentionally depleted the common resources that belong to this great country and have brought hardship on the citizens, I am not happy with it.”

The Archbishop urged Nigerians to tell the leaders the truth. He described Nigeria as a disappointment to the Lord God almighty “who brought people of various ethnicities together and gave them the resources”.

“But those in power have chosen to make the commonwealth of the country their personal property, this is the reason I am carrying this coffin, God is not happy, and he is saying it is not political leaders alone, including the religious and traditional leaders.”

On why he didn’t take it to the Aso Villa, the seat of power in Abuja, Benjamin said God had not asked him to do that yet,

“Human rights is the right of citizens of this country, we have found ourselves in a government that sees you as an enemy when you are being constructive in your criticism.”

The clergyman stressed that the way forward for Nigeria is that those in power need to sit and decide if the country should stay together or not.

“Secession cry is everywhere, the question is, Is it God’s will that all these must happen? We need to sit down at a round table and look at it again what and what put us together, whether those things are still workable today or are no longer workable”, Benjamin said.

Politics / PDP Govs In Zamfara, Beg Matawalle Not To Join APC by kennyify88: 12:44pm On Apr 09, 2021
Six Peoples Democratic Party Governors have visited Zamfara State in an effort to persuade Governor Bello Matawalle not to join the All Progressives Congress.

The governors, including Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Darius Ishaku of Taraba, Umar Fintiri of Adamawa and Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto, were in Government House Gusau on Wednesday, where they spent several hours with Matawalle who was alleged to have concluded arrangements to defect to the APC.

The visit of the PDP Governors to Zamfara State followed a similar visit by three APC governors -Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), Badaru Abubakar (Jigawa) and Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), who also had a closed-door meeting with Matawalle.

Speaking during the visit, Wike expressed surprise about why members of the APC members wanted Matawalle to join their party after intimidating him on several occasions.

“I can’t understand why a party which declared Zamfara a no-fly zone is coming to woo the governor,” he said.

He advised Matawalle not to lose sleep because of insecurity, adding that the situation has been in existence even before the governor took over the affairs of the state.

“The insecurity problem started before you became the governor, so, nobody can come and use insecurity to intimidate you,” Wike added.

He described the N50m donated by the APC to the victims of the fire incident as a Greek gift, urging Matawalle not to receive the opposition again.

Responding, Matawalle expressed happiness with the visit by the PDP governors which he also described as timely following the Gusau market incident.

He said he was almost abandoned by the PDP governors, lamenting that, “a crying child abandoned by his mother is likely to take food from a street beggar.”

Matawalle noted how close he was to Governor Aminu Tambuwal with whom he has a long history dating back to their times at the House of Representatives.
