A former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, on Sunday said the plan of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is to remain in power in both Federal and State levels till 50 years.

He stated this on Sunday while addressing newsmen in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Sheriff, a 3-time Senator who is also a contender for the APC national chairmanship, called on stakeholders of the party to unite in an effort to remain in power after President Muhammadu Buhari’s exit in 2023.

He said, “Today, as a party, we are only six years in power, our aspirations are for the ruling APC to be in government in the next 50 years without interruption.

“Buhari brought that to the table and what are we going to face after the exit of His Excellency, the President? It is we the APC members especially the stakeholders that will tell the world that we are capable of getting their trust even when he finishes his tenure and leave the office. “Doing that, you need all members.

You need people who know the history of the party, where we are coming from, who know the history of Nigeria, someone who has been in different aspects of life and we need to work together, we need to build bridges across the country.

“Doing that doesn’t come on the platter of gold, we need to put in hard work.

Therefore, I believe it is important for me to reach out to all leaders of our party; the youths, the women, different organizations to tell them that we must come together to get our party to run for the next 30, 40, 50 years by the grace of God.”

Adeseye Ogunlewe, a former Minister of Works, has said the southeast cannot produce a president in 2023.


Ogunlewe said the inability of the people of the southeast to unite under a common leadership would work against their presidential ambition.


He disclosed this while featuring on Arise TV’s ‘The Morning Show’ programme on Wednesday.


The former minister also pointed out that the lack of cohesion among the southeast people would work against them.



He said: “Another set of people that are appropriate, they are the people from the Southeast but they have the problem of leadership.


“They are so endowed that they are spread all over Nigeria and they can gather a lot of votes, but they are too divided.



An Imo person, an Enugu person, an Ebonyi man will not listen to themselves.



“They have the money. If they sit down and aggregate what they can offer, they have more money than almost everybody in Nigeria.



“But have you seen one person from the south-east that said ‘I am interested in the presidency, I will start to campaign all over Nigeria immediately, raise money for me?’ and influence the structure of the party?”

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has
warned its personnel against exhorting
monies from motorists or be ready to be
thrown into the unemployed market.



The Sector Commander of the Taraba State
Command of the corps, Selina William, who
handed down the warning on Wednesday
during an interactive session with the
media in Jalingo, urged motorists to desist
from the act of giving out bribes to the
personnel.



The command, she said has deployed
sectorial intelligence to fish out corrupt
marshals, warning that any staff found
wanting will be dismissed from the
service.



While explaining that markets along the
highways posed serious dangers to both
commuters and the people, she
maintained that the ban on highway
trading was for the safety of drivers and
citizens.



She warned officers that taking bribes was
akin to receiving blood money and
pleaded with motorists not to hesitate in
reporting any officer who exhorts them.



“Any marshall who indulges in bribery is
taking blood money”



“I am using this opportunity to advise
motorists to desist from giving bribe to

Former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has described Nigeria as a “Zigzag Republic”.



The former lawmaker in a post on his official social media pages on Sunday blasted Nigerians for been tribalistic on their approaches to issues that bother on the entire country.



Senator Sani who spoke an adage revealed that Nigerians give special treatment to some individuals based on ethnicity.



According to Shehu, some Nigerians who rejoiced over the recent extradition of the embattled leader of the proscribed Indigenous of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, are not working to sabotage the extradition of the Nigerian Inspector General of Police’s Intelligence Response Team (IGP-IRT) Commander and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari.



Abba Kyari is currently embattled over his alleged link to a suspected internet and cybercrime fraudster, Ramon Abass, popularly known as Hushpuppi.



He may be extradited to the United States upon the conclusion of investigations concerning his involvement.



Recall that the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, had linked Kyari to Hushpuppi during an investigation.

A physically challenged girl, Florence Umukoro, has accused her parents of maltreatment after she became deaf and dumb at their house in the Ajah area of Lagos State.



PUNCH Metrogathered that after Florence’s condition was discovered in 2011, her life took a sad turn, as the Delta State indigene alleged that her parents and pastors said she was demon-possessed.



Instead of seeking medical intervention to improve her condition, the 23-year-old alleged that her parents stopped sponsoring her education and took her to different churches for deliverance.




Florence communicated with our correspondent throughWhatsApp.


She said, “I have been hoping my life will change for the better, but things keep getting worse as time goes by.


My family and relatives have disowned me; nobody cares about me. My parents have been helping my siblings with their schooling, but they left me out of the picture.


“I have been labelled possessed by a demon and it is breaking my heart. On April 27, 2021, my younger sister said I should prepare for a church programme that I would be attending with our mother, Mary, but I declined.




“Suddenly, my parents and older brother, Emmanuel, forcefully dragged me to a blue garment church owned by a prophetess.




The prophetess told them to chain my hands and legs to prevent me from leaving.


“Then, they had their driver shave me and ordered my mother to bathe me. I pleaded for compassion and respect for my privacy, all to no avail.




The prophetess stood behind me with a stick and threatened to beat me up if I revolted.



“Mother complied with her call to strip me naked. I felt so wounded in my spirit as they striped me off my dignity.


I got reduced to an animal as I was kept in chains from Wednesday, April 28, to Saturday, May 1, 2021.”




Florence stated that her efforts to get help proved abortive, adding that she was feeling suicidal because of “neglect and the inhumane conditions” her parents and pastors subjected her to.



She added, “They violated my rights and also spied on my life, thus making me feel like a symbol of evil; I’m heartbroken. I can’t go on this way anymore. I will do whatever it takes to free myself, even if it means committing suicide to end my pains.



“These seemingly unending years of religious and domestic persecution must end.

Everything started when pastors told them that my hearing loss was spiritual. A relative, including other clerics, also said I was demonised.



“I opened up about my hearing issue in 2011 and they often beat and forcefully dragged me to deliverance programmes. They (parents) send my siblings to high school and university, but I am always sitting at home, doing nothing.



“I am telling others about my problem because I can’t cope with the stigma any more. I’m slowly getting out of the public eye as the humiliation and trauma is becoming unbearable.



“All I need is for someone to help me get treatment for my health so that I can find a job and leave this situation behind, rather than getting left behind while my siblings move on.”



When contacted, Florence’s father, John, said his daughter was under a spiritual attack.



He said, “If she says I am not taking care of her, maybe that is how she takes it. Actually, I am caring for her, but this thing is spiritual because she was not given birth to with that condition.

It came suddenly and I believe it is a spiritual problem.



“Her mother took her to the General Hospital on the Island and they prescribed different drugs for her to be taking and after she finished taking the drugs, she should return for further examination. But when we got home,
she threw away the medicine.
“Her behaviour became unbearable and I knew that it was not ordinary, so we resorted to spiritual prayers. We have been seeking spiritual help for over eight years.


Anytime we seek help, she will run away. Immediately she sees a man of God, she will run away.



“I said she is experiencing spiritual attack, and not that she is a demon. But when she threw away her medicine, do you expect me to take her back to the same hospital?


Hearing aid is what I am trying to get for her.

Elder statesman, Edwin Clark, has said that the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, is dreaming by including the South South states in map of Biafra.



The Nnamdi Kanu-led IPOB is agitating to break out the Old Eastern region from Nigeria to form Biafra Republic.



And Clark, who spoke in an interview with BBC Pidgin, said the IPOB is very unrealistic in their quest to break the South South and South East out of Nigeria, adding, “To me, IPOB is not pursuing the right thing.”




However, Clark maintained that Nnamdi Kanu is fighting a good fight, adding that the people of the South East are being neglected in Nigeria.




Clark explained that South East only has five states, whereas other regions in the country have six and seven respectively, “Based on what? Nobody knows.”


“For every appointment that is being made in this country, the Igbo are shortchanged.

If Universities are being distributed per state, they will have five. Others will have six while North-West will have seven. This is despite the Igbo forming the third leg when this country was created.




“So, they have a good complaint, but going about it wrongly.”
Speaking further, he said,




“How can Delta be part of Biafra? In what way? Is Biafra older or bigger than Delta?


“How can Rivers State or Akwa Ibom become part of Biafra?

They are dreaming for still thinking about the Eastern Region of those days.”

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Matthew Kukah has expressed fear that the Nigerian government under President Muhammadu Buhari is not handling issues concerning religious crisis the right way.


The cleric said this at a virtual presentation with the US Congress in Washington on the persecution of Christians in Nigeria by Islamic extremist groups in the Northern Region of Nigeria.


Kukah told Congress that although the attack on Christians in Nigeria have been happening for many years now, it has risen in the last 10 years.


He also claimed that extremists, bandits, Fulani herdsmen and Boko Haram were targeting many schools in the North especially, Christian ones and are “indoctrinating the children.



They end up converting these children to wives, cooks, spies, sexual slaves and so on,” the Bishop said.


The Bishop also complained to Congress that President Buhari is deliberately appointing people of his ethnic group and religion into key political positions.


“In 2020, they killed some of our Priests in the North.

They kidnapped our children and forced them to denounce Christianity for Islam.



We have issued statements and called the attention of the government to our plight but you see, we have weak institutions.



“The whole of the North is being invaded by armed bandits that are launching attacks at will.



The President has shown nepotism in his appointments as he is appointing only people that share the same religion with him into key political offices like the security Chiefs.



“For the first time in Nigeria, the first three persons: the President, the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representative are all Muslims.



“This has never happened before. So, we require practical and measuring assistance that can help us and our children,” the cleric cried out.

The controversial Catholic priest while speaking on the state of the nation in a sermon, slammed pastors and priest for keeping mum when Nigerians are dying of hunger and other challenges bedeviling them.




The popular gospel preacher and recently one of the critics of President Muhammadu Buhari, accused some men of God of extorting money from jobless church members.




He said, “We men of God have gone corrupt, we have eaten the dish of the devil.





We have started romancing with dirty politicians.



“They have moved money into the church and caged, merchandise prophetic auctions. Time is coming when many children of God will be arrested. And men of God will just pray for their souls when to die.




“Our people are jobless but we can not talk, yet we need money from the jobless people.
What type of Christianity is that?



“Who is fooling who? You are free to hate or love me.

Secessionist groups, the Biafra Think Tank, and The Biafra Watchdogs have threatened to attack the Nigerian National Assembly complex, Aso Rock and its Presidential villa, the Force Headquarters, Nigeria Army Headquarters, among others,



Their threats follow the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.




The group also threatened to kidnap all the ambassadors of the Buhari government including the former Chief of Army Staff, Yusuf Burutai and keep them hostage until Nnamdi Kanu is released and President Muhammadu Buhari signs and announces Biafra.




The groups in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Thursday and signed by 24 of their members, also directed all landlords in Biafra land to document and send names and other vital information of all their tenants to them.




The statement said, “Every landlord in Biafra land must send the names, phone numbers, pictures if possible, address of any police officers, army, DSS, EFCC, ICPC, CIVIL DEFENSE, Air Force, Navy, Custom, Muslims, be it Hausa, Fulani or any non biafra leaving in their houses,” the statement said.




“We shall inform the public and the country and airlines that gave out our leader, Kanu’s details and ensure that the staff, plane, and the country pays dearly or we will give their own country
Jihadists or ISIS useful information to attack their government complex.




“Today we have agreed and decided to kidnap all the ambassadors of Buhari government including Burutai and keep them hostage till they release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and until Buhari signs and declares Biafra.




“We hereby summon all the Biafran sons and daughters working in the USA, UK, EU, AU, army, Navy, Air Force, etc, to attend an important meeting in the USA.




“If Buhari refuses to release Nnamdi Kanu, within 21 days from now, we shall attack the National assembly, Aso Rock, Police Headquarters, Nigeria Army Headquarters etc.”



Nnamdi Kanu, who was arrested, allegedly in Kenya at the weekend, was taken to court on Tuesday and is currently being detained at the Department of State Service, DSS.

Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, the Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN), has said handcuffing Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, self-acclaimed leader of the secessionist group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), will not stop the agitation for the disintegration of Nigeria.



The Catholic priest, who spoke during a sermon, said even if the Nigerian Government handcuffs hundreds of secessionists, the agitation would continue due to hardship in the land.



Recall that after over two years of man-hunt, the Federal Government on Tuesday disclosed that it has re-arrested Nnamdi Kanu.



The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, who confirmed the development, said he was re-arrested by a combined team of Nigerian and foreign security agents in a coordinated interception.



The FG, through the Minister of information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, on Thursday addressed newsmen on the development but maintained silence on the country that the fugitive was nabbed.



Mbaka, who attributed the current agitation in Southeast (Biafra) and the Southwest (Oduduwa) to hardship ravaging the entire nation, alleged that the Southeast Governors influenced Kanu’s fall.



He said, “Even if they put handcuffs on hundreds of Nigerians, agitation will not stop.




Handcuffing them will even increase the agitation.
“You cannot tie people down when they can not afford what to eat.



School fees in Enugu are at the highest level. And parents, after suffering to train their children, the children will still be at home.
“The agitation will not stop just because some people are handcuffed.




So I asked our leaders to sit down and not sell their people.

Mbaka suggested that clerics speaking the truth to power risk persecution and incarceration.



In a sermon, the government critic insisted that Nigeria is not on the right track.




“Suffering has become part of our history, but it will not continue like this forever.

This is not between power and money, there is still God.

Ex-United States President Donald Trump has accused his successor Joe Biden of “destroying” America.


Trump made the comment on Wednesday when he visited the border wall in Pharr.


The former leader was accompanied by Texas Governor Gregg Abbott and some Republican lawmakers.



Trump expressed dismay about the Biden administration’s decision to halt work on the project.



He said the construction could have been completed in less than three months from the time it was stopped.



Trump boasted that his government produced the safest and best border ever in America.


“Biden is destroying our country and it all started with the fake election.



The big one [the 2020 presidential election] was won by a different person,” he said.



Trump told Biden to resume building the wall and to paint it black.
“The best color to paint it is black. Because if you paint it black, it’s so hot, nobody can even try to climb it.”



Trump hailed his administration’s efforts to reduce migration and called the US-Mexico boundary, under him, the most secure in history.



“Now they’re at levels never seen before. Millions of people are flooding in, drugs, and human trafficking.”



Trump mentioned the freeze in funding to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a lab in China where COVID-19 allegedly emanated.



“It wasn’t about virus at that time, I stopped it because I said why the hell are we giving money to China, it was very simple”, he noted.

The General Overseer (GO) of Christ Foundation Miracle Int’l Chapel, Prophet Josiah Chukwuma Onuoha, has chided those denigrating late Prophet Temitope Balogun (TB) Joshua even in death and advised them to leave judgment to God.


Prophet Onuoha, who stated this during an online media chat expressed dismay that even men of God, who he said should know better, were among those disparaging the person and style of the late founder of the Synagogue Church of all Nations, who died on June 5, 2021, seven days to his 58th birthday.

Although Prophet Onuoha noted that he was not in a position to judge anybody and that “I never met TB Joshua and didn’t know him one-on-one. But I loved his good works of charity and remarkable humility.


He however, advised that people should allow God to judge the late prophet, “who had already finished his race on earth and gone to rest” and rather seek ways to touch lives like the late prophet had did. While alleging that most of the clergymen who criticised Prophet TB Joshua were driven by sheer envy, Onuoha charged all clerics to emulate TB’s style of unlimited humility and charity works.

“He was a very humble man of God who always helped poor widows and the less privileged.

Those who had issues with his style and condemned him should realise that only God that heals, Satan does not heal or do good.

“If it was the evil spirit, as had been alleged in some quarters, that TB Joshua operated with, then such ‘demon’ should be commended for feeding, healing, liberating and empowering several people across the world through the prophet. I have a family friend that was cured of her infirmity during one of TB’s ministration.

The late Prophet fed many widows and took care of several needy individuals across the world through financial and other assistances. “Did any beneficiary of his regular rice distribution die after consuming the food?

Did anyone die after receiving financial assistance from him? Come to think of it, those that are now fighting the man after his death, assuming their castrations hold any water, what effort did they make to correct him when he was alive?


“All the men of God that are condemning TB Joshua today, how many times did they approach him to advise him? How many times did they gather to offer corporate prayers for TB Joshua, his church and family?


Every good Nigerian, not only Christians, should stand by the Joshua family and mourn with them because the church, Yorubaland and Nigeria as a whole recorded a huge loss in Prophet TB Joshua’s death.


“I watched Emmanuel TV the day the man died and I saw many widows crying at the gate, lamenting helplessly and asking who will now take care of us now that daddy is gone?


To such people, TB was their all. I know several people that got their healing through TB’s prayers and ministrations.

To such people, he was God-sent. And all those were done with evil powers, then that demon must be a good guy.

A former Minister of Sports, Barr. Solomon Dalung has highlighted what he described as the major problems of President Muhammadu Buhari.



According to him, majority of the people in Buhari administration do not seem to work along the President’s ideology but rather prefer to fold their arms and watch him fail.



The former Minister spoke at the Army Resource Centre, Abuja on Tuesday, during the presentation of a book entitled ‘Buhari in Us’ written by Haruna Abdullahi.



He said, “When I finally met Mr. President, he said, ‘I know you are somebody who can tell someone how it is.


I would want you to tell me anytime, anything however bitter or however hard it is.’



“My covenant with him is to tell him whenever he is right and also whenever he is wrong.



The President has remained the man I know since then.
“Buhari has not changed.

But Buhari is like an angel who is invited to dance in the mould and Nigerians expect him to return to heaven with a clean robe.
Certainly, it would not happen.

Ten people were reported to have died some hours after having their dinner on Monday evening in Gwanara district, in Kwara North Senatorial District.



The incident, DAILY POST gathered, occurred at about 2200hours at the camp of the head of Fulanis in Biogberu in Gwanara district.

A security source revealed that ” The charm given to them is known as back to sender, but was wrongly used as against the way the herbalist prescribed it to them.



Four among them whose cases were serious at first were taken to Taberu hospital, a boundary to the Republic of Benin but later died.



” The remaining six victims out of which were children within the ages of five and eight years, including a man and woman of 40 and 37 years, that were referred to Bukari Kawo Memorial Hospital, Gwanara, equally died on Tuesday morning at about 0600hours,” the source added.



The names of the victims include; Ibou (father),
Bake (mother),
Juli (male),
Sidiq (male) and Banna (female).


Others are,
Yon (female),
Banna (female),
Zenaib (female),
Denbo (female) and Junbo ,(male).



The case, according to the source, is being handled by the Nigeria police, Gwanara Division for further investigation and findings.



When contacted on Tuesday night, the spokesman of the state police command, Mr Okasanmi Ajayi, said in a text message that he will react to the development on Wednesday.

Kemisola Ogunniyi, the #EndSARS protester who gave birth to a baby in the prison recently, has regained freedom temporarily.



She was freed on Tuesday afternoon from the Surulere Prison in Ondo West Local Government following an order by an Ondo State High Court Judge, Justice Omolara Adejumo.



The judge earlier granted her a N10 million bail before giving an order that she should be allowed to attend her child’s naming ceremony.



Ogunniyi, who was arrested by the Nigerian Army in October 2020 following the #EndSARS protests that turned violent, is expected to return to the prison after the naming ceremony.



Ogunniyi, who was two months pregnant at the time of her arrest, gave birth to a baby boy on June 16, 2021.

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a Federal Government’s team to engage Twitter over the suspension of its operations in the country.



Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed who will chair the team made the announcement in a statement on Tuesday.



The team comprises the Attorney General of the Federation and Honourable Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami; Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami; Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola; Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige and relevant government agencies.



Recall that the Buhari-led federal government had indefinitely suspended Twitter’s operations over activities capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence.



Twitter had written to the federal government seeking to engage it in a view to charting a path forward.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has reminded the All Progressives Congress (APC) that the platform will give account for its leadership of Nigeria.



The Lagos federal lawmaker spoke on Monday in Abuja at the 2021 Progressives Youth Conference.



Gbajabiamila stressed that the party needed to identify competent people both at home and in the diaspora and bring them on board.



The speaker said translating good manifestos into policies by political parties remained the foundation for achievements.



Political party manifestos, he noted, are a statement of vision, the foundation of all achievements.



“For a nation such as ours to succeed, we must first define a common vision that will inspire us, bring us together, and provide the focus that allows us to persevere through the inevitable difficult times.



“Political parties exist to mobilise public support to form a government and to superintend over the affairs of the state.



“To be successful in this regard, political parties must reflect in their membership, the broad spectrum of the society it seeks to govern.



“The commitments contained in the party manifesto are the basis upon which the party’s record in government will be measured and its leaders will be assessed both in real-time and in the judgment of history.



“As it has been throughout history, so also will it be for us in the All Progressives Congress as we too will answer for what we have done with our time in government.”



Gbajabiamila insisted that the APC has accomplished much despite “the many obstacles”.



He added that there is still more to do in the two years left in the tenure of the present administration.

Founder and Senior prophet of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Warri, Delta State, Jeremiah Fufeyin, has called on wealthy pastors in the country to give back to Nigerians in this difficult period of time.



The cleric said that the Federal Government needs the support of well-meaning Nigerians, especially wealthy clergymen to mitigate challenges faced by poor citizens.



According to him, Nigerians have given so much to the church and it was only fair that wealthy pastors help them survive the hunger and starvation in the country.

Senate President Ahmad Lawan, on Monday predicted that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would suffer challenges after President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure elapses in 2023.



He made the prediction on Monday night while delivering a speech to close the First Progressives Youth Conference 2021 which was held at the International Conference Centre, in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.



The Senate President urged the party members to plan ahead of Buhari’s exit in a bid to sustain the goodwill and legacies of the present administration, stressing that only such a move would keep the party relevant beyond 2023.



According to Lawan, “Whether we like it or not, the truth is, President Muhammadu Buhari remains the person with the bulk of the support we get across this country in APC.



“And when he leaves, he will still have some roles, but I daresay that it is after he leaves office that APC will face its challenge.



“Yes, we have to know our value then, and the value of APC presently is APC minus President Muhammadu Buhari. Whatever it is, that is the value of APC.



“So, we need to do a lot to build this party, and we need our youths more than ever before for them to continue with this legacy that this administration has established all over the country”.



He tasked the members on unity and cooperation, saying there was a need for them to eschew tribalism and other differences for the betterment of the party.

A mentally derailed man identified as Mr
Denen has kept many in shock in the city of
Makurdi, the Benue State capital as residents
continue to troop to him at the JS Tarka
Foundation where he offers medical
services to a large number of people with
different health challenges.


A Benue State broadcast platform, Citizen TV
visited the venue on Wednesday, and
reported the mentally unstable man would
upon seeing a patient, write a number of Tiv
traditional ailment affecting the person and
directing them to different traditional
doctors who are expected to treat the
patient.


According to a source who spoke with
DAILY POST, the man had Masters Degree
from the University of Jos before his
unfortunate predicament.


The source said a large number of patients
usually gather at the JS Tarka Foundation in
High-Level Makurdi to consult the man over
their health issues.


According to a lady who gave her name as
Sandra, she heard about the man and had to
come because she had acute pains in her
chest and it seemed to have defiled all
medical conditions.


Sandra said she had conducted the ‘mad
doctor’ and already given a piece of paper
containing what was wrong with her and
she was going to see a traditional healer.


Another patient Mr Aondohemen who spoke
with the Television crew said for him, it was
luck.


“He has shown me where to go and I am
going there. I heard about him and have to
come all the way from my village to try and
see how it will go”.


Also a worker of the man who preferred
anonymity said, he had part of his head
swollen up and had sought medical
attention from all the hospitals without any
help.


According to him, Benue State Governor,
Samuel Ortom had given him money for
treatment on several occasions but it didn’t
heal until the day he met the mentally
challenged man. He simply asked him to
apply a certain herb and he was healed.


“Since then, I always come here every
evening after my work to help him on
guiding people,” he added.


A 30-year-old woman who works to
support the mad man in attending to people
recounted how people had thanked the
man for helping them.

“They always come here. After being healed,
they come to give him cash donations.


Government officials, public servants,
policemen and many other people,” She
said.
Following the trend, a Facebook user took to
his page on Friday to express shock over the
activities of the healer-man.
According to him, “I’m a bit confused. I was
told of a ‘mad’ native doctor who sits at the
entrance of IBB Square Makurdi and
prescribes native medicine for sick people
within Makurdi town.


“I learnt of this man through one of my
friends who asked me to accompany him
and his sick brother to consult the man for a
medical solution. I was surprised when I
saw a lot of people hovering around a
supposed “mad” man for medical help.


“A young woman within the age of 29 to 30
years appeared and presented herself to be
working for the supposed “mad” man.


“Soon as we were about leaving, some
group of persons came with gifts and
money to give thanks to the man for healing
their sick son.


‘I also met one of my old girlfriends standing
close to the man and she also testified
during our conversation that she had also
received useful medical advice from the
man.


“What the man does is that he will listen to
you and consult his oracle and then directs
you on where to get native medical
attention or help.


“My friend who brought in a stroke patient
walked towards the man to make inquiries
and to my greatest surprise, he politely
asked him to queue up that he will not
attend to anyone no matter how highly
placed except he queues up behind the
other patients who were already waiting in
line.


“The man was full of confidence and guts.
He was seen sitting with beautiful girls
between the ages of 22 to 24 and above.
“Stories making the rounds also have it that
the man has his first and master’s degrees
at the prestigious University of Jos.


I’m still
surprised and shocked to my bones.”


However, another beneficiary who spoke to
DAILY POST from Markurdi, said God was
working through the man to heal people of
their various diseases.


Let me correct the impression of “Mr
Denen,” herein referred to as “a mad man”.
“For Christians, God can appear to you in
any form and you may not know. Generally,
looking at this graduate of the Prestigious
UniJos,

you may easily conclude he’s a
mentally unstable, but conversely, a mad
man is easily identified by his behaviours &
utterances, whereas, the case of this old
man is different.


“Personally, I met him there since April 2020
but had several interactive forums with him
just early this year.Let me correct a mis-
presentation here, this old man herein
referred to as “a madman” doesn’t collect
money from clients. He collects gifts
especially, food and snacks. “Yes, beautiful
girls may cluster around him in an
ambiguous presentation herein as
presented, their liberation is sure thereafter.
“In all, I wish to uphold the fact mentioned
by people that he is curing them through
the “instrumentality of God the creator” as
he normally tells people. It wasn’t a poor or
nasty outing with him anyways”, he stated.

A medical doctor, Precious Emeka Chinedu, has been shot dead at his clinic in Salka village, Magama Local Government Area of Niger State.



DAILY POST gathered that bandits numbering about five, stormed the area targeting the deceased.



A source in the town revealed that the doctor was abducted from his clinic to an unknown destination before his corpse was found by vigilante group.



“When they took the Doctor away, we reported to the police and the local vigilante. The vigilante later called us the following day saying that they have seen a corpse inside the bush and we were able to identify that of the doctor”, he said.



When contacted, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Wasiu was unable to take calls and could not respond to text messages sent to him.



However, the Ohaneze Ndigbo, Niger state President, Chief Emmanuel Ezeugo, confirmed the incident.



He appealed to relevant authorities to investigate the cause of the murder.
