I love Govt expenditure, everyone comes to the table and spends like it is no one's business. Design and manning a website for Govt will include: Lunch Staff Bus Meeting (another Lunch) Website opening ceremony Employ 10 Back up staff, 50 Ghost workers Rent Office Data collection (Won't get any meaningful stuff at the end) Site crash (Repeat cycle) Change of goverment>> New Site>> New Funds/allocation. |

WhyNa: After the deadline, representatives from all the consortiums come together to narrow this list down. Most times, interviews are conducted and scores awarded to finally decide from the narrowed list. The names are then sent to EU for approval.
The first stage of being qualified is done by the coordinating university. everyone who is qualified to gain admission is written to as some people will want to proceed as self funded student. It is this list of eligible candidates that the reps now further work on. The Reps are the ones who decide. The Eu just approves the names "The Reps" you mean Program members from each schools ? or Erasmus+ members ? |

WhyNa: It is not a factor when it comes to Erasmus Mundus Scholarship believe me How does it work; Program picks students and sends to Erasmus Mundus for final selection (Full scholarship) after reading SOPs or Program picks qualified students and also determines who gets the scholarship ? |

Prudento: Hello friends, I've been admitted to study at McGill, Montreal, Quebec. The information at the CIC website says for those intending to study in Quebec, an Approval later from Quebec is one of the required documents. Please who has experience on this? Is the document really mandatory? I've checked and discovered that you have to pay a separate $112 dollars online for this document, print your application and post all the way from Nigeria. And wait to receive the document BEFORE applying for study permit. This is sickening! Congrats, is it for Grad studies ? |

Matinoh: hi family and happy new year.. . I applied for MCF University of Edinburgh graduate program. Since I'm a fresh graduate( haven't gone for NySC), I didn't apply with any documents such as transcript, English competency test results etc. I'm currently studying for Ielts but I keep getting discouraged that I might never be invited for an interview let alone be awarded the scholarship.. Results are not officially out but I should be around second class upper ( 4.xx). my WAEC isn't great either.. I need a confidence boost, please rate me. Don't be discourage I had such hope last year, transcript hindered me too. your IELTS will open doors to lots of scholarships. Good luck |

Ultimus: Ah! Stating motivation is hard o. Some of us would rather the marks were allotted to academic excellence or English Language test score. I'd have been happier if my English test was even graded. They said minimum is 92, so if you score higher, you get a higher equivalent? |

Ultimus: It's not important to contact the schools but you can contact their researchers. It is not an easy thing to get a hold of them (especially as you are not in their schools or country) anyway since most schools don't put the names of their staff out there. Then you'll also have to start search and stalk them on social media or look for their email. Since this is hard, a better alternative would be to mention your willingness to work with any researcher in the school you come across per chance. It is just to consolidate proof to them that you are interested in the ongoing research in the programme. Nice, I think second option will be preferred, although my program allotted 10% to Letter of Motivation. |
Education › Re: Erasmus Mundus Master's Scholarship Applicants 2017/2018 by kennynelcon(m): 7:36am On Dec 29, 2017 |
Ultimus: Apply on time. Send in your application at least a month before the deadline.
Your letter of motivation or SOP is very important. It shouldn't be plagiarized or written haphazardly. Try write and rewrite it until it convinces you that it can get you the scholarship. Mention how your background qualifies you for the programme and what specifically you want to do in the programme. To help with this, you can simply research the institutions of the consortium you're applying to, check their research strengths and facilities, then link it to what you will do in the programme. If you can get correspondence with a researcher in any of those institutions all the better and do not forget to mention it. Explain how the programme will be of immense benefit to your third world country, highlighting the specific areas in which you can apply the knowledge of gained from the programme.
It took me months to write my letters of motivation. Some programmes give questions to answer briefly on your motivation, cutting out your work for you. So it pays to know the programme you are applying to beforehand, so that you can prepare.
Don't know how academic references are assessed, although their letters and presence in the research world matters. Use professors.
Your performance in courses relevant to the programme is more important than your CGPA. My friend had a CGPA of 3.8 out of 5, yet he made it.
In event you get preselected, prepare for the interview (phone or Skype). They will discuss your letter with you, just know what you have written in there and do not lie. Reiterate you've been reading research work (on those points you mentioned in your letter) in preparation for embarking on the research in your spare time (it might be beneficial to actually do this). Please do not lie.
Any other thing I did not touch, please lemme know. Thank you...In contacting consortium schools, are you trying to show your strength or you want a prof/faculty member accept you? |
