IMPORTANT NOTE ON PTDF UNITED KINGDOM SCHOLARSHIP

2. Candidates with minimum of 2.2 in a related discipline can apply for MSc

3. Candidates with minimum of 2.2 in their BSc and Merit i.e PhD grade in their MSc can apply for PhD.

5. Applicants that applied for Germany, China, and France can also apply for the current scholarship. Applicants are to apply only for the PTDF scholarship, PTDF is responsible for seeking admission into the selected universities for the applicants.

6. Candidates who successfully scale through the first round of screening will be requested to submit their transcripts; all applicants are therefore advised to prepare their transcripts for submission in anticipation of such a request.

7. For MSC, there will be no aptitude test. Hence, the combination of excellent personal statement, quality of degrees, Professional qualifications, Membership of Professional bodies, Awards, Publications e.t.c is essential. In short, anything that will stand you out is neccessary.

8. For PHD, interviews will take place. In addition to the above MSc criteria, a solid research proposal relevant to the oil and gas industry and relevant publications will surely boost your chances.

Please are you sure there won't be an interview for UK applicants ??

sagaciousmind:
A heads-up to the UK scholarship applicants:

http://www.tribuneonlineng.com/ptdf-changes-selection-process-for-overseas-scholarship-scheme/

To summarise this article, PTDF is saying that this year they are giving both MSc and PhD candidates the chance to undergo the interview process, unlike in previous years where MSc applicants were required to take aptitude tests. Specifically the Manager of Education and Training Department said: “For the M.Sc candidates we have asked to write a statement of purpose as to why they wish to study the subject area that they have chosen, in addition, of course, to their credentials.,”

A lot of people have been asking about the change in the selection process, wondering if it a good or bad development. I don't know if it's a plus or not, but for me I would make the most of the opportunity by making my application stand out.

That is to say, since the interviews will be common to both, and previous PhD recipients attest to the research proposal being an important criteria for assessment, then it looks like the SOP would be a big deal for MSc applicants.

Don't take this opportunity lightly. Boost your chances of success by seeking help from expressrefiners.com or drop a quick request at ask@expressrefiners.com.

Any idea if they will conduct interview for UK applicants ??

I have been accepted for McGill Mastercard Scholarship (Postgraduate). Best wishes to us all.

Congrats Boss

Why do you think PTDF did not invite some applicants for Germany/France/china
