Jobs/Vacancies / Re: A Painful Lesson I Learnt From An Access Bank Interview For A Marketing Job by kenobi007(m): 12:55pm On Jul 28, 2015
Charism:
I was in for the final stage of interview @ Access bank for the job of a graduate sales rep today. Got into the office and was asked the usual - 'tell me about yourself' and 'why do you want to work for us' question. I answered them and the man seemed impressed by my answers.

But then.. He interrupted me and asked me:

if you were to be handed your employment letter today, how would you generate 500 accounts for us in one month?

I wasn't expecting the question, but then I told him that I would go to potential market places like universitys- during 100 level registration, industrail centers. He wasn't impressed and he pressed me for more answers.(Am interested in more answers to the question) I told me that I had no banking and marketing experience. He replied me saying that I didn't need experience to answer the question and that I obviously didn't have any interest on the job plus a cold - "have a nice day". I felt hurt. I might be called to pick my employment letter, I might not be called.

A flash back on the interview made me understand that he wanted an unusual answer that would get his attention. If I had done a lot of online research I probably would have walked out of that office smiling.

The lesson I learnt which other graduates should learn from is this: do a proper research on the job you applied for, how its done, how the company does it, her policy on it everything. Know about that job as if you've already started work there. Ask questions about the job, from those who have the work experience.

Thanks.
What I have to ask is this, is it proper to share ur marketing ideas and strategy to an employer who will end up stealing the idea and not employing u. imagine how many applicants for the job who will give him a detailed insight on their strategy. Will it be ok if I give him a less detailed answer and mk him curious for my master plan and employ me.

Especially to the girls. Most gals on a first date expect more from a guy and at the end they don't feel impressed.

Business / Re: Xenophobia: MTN Nigeria Warns Of 6,000 Job Losses by kenobi007(m): 7:06am On Apr 21, 2015
All of you here casting mtn are all bunch of hypocrites. Keep deceiving urslf. If you or ur brother, wife,or any member of either ur nuclear or extended family works with mtn nigeria, will u come out and pray for them to lose their jobs? If this 6000 nigerians ( dnt forget dey are nigerians not south africans) will it stop the xenophobia attacks? Some one was talking about mtn warning their government this just shows how uninformed u are. Who says the sa government is in support of this, and who says that mtn has not bn kicking against it. (#SayNoToXenophobia). the mtn u guys are even attacking is practically a nigerian company. Forget the origin. A nigerian CEO, just 12 expatriate which I think makes up just 1% of the companies workforce with 99% nigerians. Be reasonable, this is no threat from mtn, the man is just saying the possible outcome should nigerians pour out their rage on its company. We should seek solution and stop using our hand to dig our own grave.

na just mouth dem dey make sha. If we lose the jobs, you lose your company. you can't threaten us on our own soil.

What are u even talkn about, and if they eventually close down the company, who looses more?? Who will be thrown to the streets without job and what about the recharge card vendors, retailers, distributors and many more affiliated to mtn that makes up d 500,000. The mtn executive is right. This is not the best way out. We will only be using our hands to dig our graves.

Way way different
im not trying to justify buhari here, but this person who did dis observation is an amature. d reault didnt say he got an A1 in igbo, it says he didnt offer dat subject. and this so called result thats now public is not buhari's waec result he claimed to have obtained as at 1961, niether is it a prototype of his result. this is a recentlt signed statement of result from the ministry of education in replacement of his claimed original result. The question should be what happened to the original certificated or statement of result issued as at then?. weda dis one was obtained directly from the ministry or it was forged, it is unacceptable without concrete evidence dat he sat for the exam then. i think if he cant find the original certificate, then they should produce a photocopy of the manuscript containing all the names of people that sat for the exam in that school as at 1961 and let us look for his name dere.
