Now, in the aspect of bride price. Please I want to ask who wedded the first man and woman?
Who did the first man pay bride price to?
Where in the bible did God say before you marry a woman pay her bride price.
Yes I know the next thing in your mind(Exodus 22:16-18) but we are misinterpreting it because it says says " if a man seduces a virgin who is not pledged to be married and lies with her. He must pay the bride price and she shall be his wife. Bride the daughter of Jacob that was raped they begged that they should pay her bride price for defiling her. Abraham gave his servant gift to go to his kindred and get a wife for his son and that is because he is wealthy Bride price is a penalty for rape. And people who do wedding ceremony are people who have enough to throw around. The most important aspect of marriage is the two people agreeing to be husband and wife. All this argument of court, church and traditional marriage is all the same. The exact thing to do is seek the consent of the both family once they give their approval . you are already husband and wife.you can add by going to a court or church for other ceremony which should be optional.
