Manonamission: N32B at Q2 is not good at all. How can a bank report a Q1 of c.N35B only for it to report N32B at Q2? A QoQ loss, that is. People, Please be cautious about your speculation s about FBNH. Their loan loss it's gonna increase by H1. Their foreign currency exposure is huge, and most of the fx exposure is in oil and gas. Our crude export is still poor. Devaluation by over 50℅ in increased the loan books. Please look for other stocks. Except you want to play the stock like Skye bank. K |

i dont want to get into devaluation arguements.. Since FDI are supposedly now coming in because we have floated the naira... i think we should look at where they will come into first, Treasury bills is currently at 15% which is good( sure banker returns/risk free rate) NSE, i think they would enter straight into stocks with likely good mid year results, GT, UBA, and Zenith for interim dividends (access bank out for now,( September for H1 results). All these could happen from next week cos its also the earning season in USA stocks too. Thirdly. Maybe they will go into government partnership and service sectors etc... On a related note.. expect petroleum products pump price increase... .. ...a country that exports only one thing for decades is quick to devalue its currency... . k |

Tigerbrand - Trading sideways for a while now, shows resistance/support around 4.60 ish band . na one thing go break am out. FBNH, SKYE BANKS. Going south men at least for this week. OandO type weak result will most likely safe FBNHs free fall. FO plc. its overdue, after dividend and bonus, its finding its real value. Lets see who among the Banks will relase result first. DUNKA: All Guru and contributors please kindly need your advise criticisms and suggestions.
I am trying to create a basket of shares I would want to invest in and would be grateful if you could advise the pick and selections:
1) MOBIL SHARES= N150,000.00 2) NESTLE SHARES= N150,000.00 3) FIRST BANK SHARES = N150,000.00 4) TOTAL OIL PLC = N20,000.00 5) GUINNESS NIGERIA PLC = N20,000.00 6) NIGERIAN BREWERIES = N20,000.00 7) ZENITH BANK PLC = N20,000.00
7 UP PLC = N20,000.00 9) DANGOTE CEMENT = N20,000.00 10) GTB PLC = N20,000.00 11) NATIONAL SALT PLC = N20,000.00 12) JULIUS BERGER = N20,000.00 13) UNILEVER = N20,000.00 14) UACN PLC = N20,000.00 15) DANGOTE SUGAR 16) WAPCO = N20,000.00 17) CONOIL = N20,000.00 18) PZ CUZSSONS= N20,000.00 19) STANBIC IBTC = N20,000.00
Please need your expertise and advise on which I should drop or any I should add for now. Amounts indicated are the amounts I want to invest in any guidance here too would be appreciated. Nice attempt. That's how it starts, but i think the basket will be too heavy for now, Except you will be monitoring it full time, As you said the criteria is dividend yield and longevity of the stock. as someone earlier mentioned sectorial allocation will balance and mitigate concentration risk on the whole portfolio, 1. zenith 2. GT Bank 3. FO Plc 4. Total Plc 5. NB plc 6. Dangote Cement 7. JB PLC 8. Dantoge Sugar 9 NACHO Plc Notice that Dangote Group will end up having the highest allocation, ( another form of Concentration risk). it should be fund how you allocate your capital on them. Off course your due diligence will help you out on the final stocks that make the portfolio. Good luck.. |

Mpeace: I wish you the same. Perpertual poverty is when you see a sinking ship and still choose to board with all you have. A company with liability of more than N400billion to be paid within 5 years, record yearly and impairment loses. Or do you think Buhari will still be in power or in good terms with the tinubus when creditors come for their money at the end of the day? Take time to read the rich content the forum has to offer, it will see give you insights on the way the market works, cos i too have benefited from it. . OANDO is sentimental stock, they rarely flow the norms. Trading is based of your view of the market and your conviction. why do you think they say " There are many routes to enter the market" and don't waste your time trying to know why a teenager is in love with a Guy, . they just fall in love. and by the way whose is MPEACE |

tradepunter: its amazing how some traders depend on a heavily lagged indicator for trade direction. . People, Its disappointing how some people want to drag so other people down just to get attention. please who is this one again, they just drop from no where to come cause confusion in the house. we have to teach them what constructive criticism is ... we have a lot of newbies in the house that are watching and learning, some of us have resolved to to guard them from been confused. Then their next post is.. they want to trade the NSE. . KEEP THE GUARD. |

sky2891: Please, house, kindly assist me with this question. Assuming FBNH releases their H1 2016 result, What will possibly be the market reaction if there is no improvement in impairment charges due to loan losses but good improvement in cost reduction (operational expenses) and an impressive PBT yoy result in comparison with H1 2015? @SKY. I THINK YOU ALREADY HAVE AN IDEA OF YOUR ANSWER.. TECHNICALLY, THE STOCK IS LOOKING GOOD, BETTER 3.60 AND BELOW, FUNDAMENTALLY, AVOID IT IF YOU CAN, IF H1 RESULTS DISAPPOINTS, THEN YOU'RE TOAST. SO.. BE CAREFUL AND MOVE TO THE NEXT STOCK. DONT LET SENTIMENTS LURE YOU IN. K |

Morning people, Initially I didn't want contribute on, before I observed that we have different types of trader/investors in the forum. Traders: trade of technicals of a company regardless if the company is dead. JIJo group. Investors: trade off the fundamentals of a company. The members give advice to the house. So if a trader say Skye , it's because his a trader off technicals . And investor will read it and be more confused or buys the cos the guru said it. On the other side an investor drips his stock picks and traders would be like: are you high And too bad a lot of newbies dey the house. I trade Both a trader and an investor. But a leaner trader.(technically) For Skye I have and will continue to whatch it as trader. But as an investor, don't go near it. K |

Jideams: Market Review – 01/07/2016
The Market showed a strong movement with exceptional volume in the last 4 days on the up side. This movement is an indication that we are back in an uptrend but one can only make this call with caution, knowing fully well we have the issue of Brexit trailing Europe.
As previously said time and time again, we are not in the business of predicting the market, as a trader we let the Market make its move and we wait to interpret what the market says. The foot print of the Market is what we use to decide the Market sentiment and the basis on which we draw our conclusion and trade with care and a good defence strategy.
Attached is a daily/weekly graph of the S&P paying attention to the volume on the daily graph. We can see a significant increase in volume in the last 4 days on the upside, this is confirmed by a jump in price. There are time when you see a significant increase in volume, but prices neither move significantly up nor down, this is an indication of high buy and sell with no clear direction. In this case, we can see a Jump in price followed by a significant increase in volume till the end of the week.
Note, price and volume action at the end of the week for both stock and Market is a clear indication of the market sentiment ready for the following week, as long as there are no strange events over the weekend. Events unrest in the middle east or a disruption to oil production in Niger delta could spell doom the following week.
Weekly graph S&P Now have look at the weekly graph, two conditions are true, telling me that the market is showing some strength. Point B remains true (the yellow line crossed above the grey), the momentum is pointing up, the last condition is for the price to rise above point A.
Right now, based on the first two condition being true, I am back in the market with caution, my first position XRS is up 31% and my new positon is up about 5%. I will run an analysis of the stocks I suggested in the last 5 weeks over the weekend to see how they have been performing.
8502 Thanks man |
