Sad...weakness of Mali government. I heard the were 600,000 manuscripts and they just began digitizing 3-4 years ago....so maybe they preserved a few, just maybe.

Not really it's Kenyan..the shield is the most potent symbol for defense in many Kenyan cultures..so it symbolizes that we will be ready to die to defend our country
