That local coaches have not qualified the national team to afcon and other tournaments recently does not mean that they have not done that . The 5 world cups the national team qualified for , Amodu helped in qualifying the national team twice and Keshi once.

Nigeria won 5 under 17 world cup with local coaches.

Eyimba was with a foreign coach for years, could not win the caf cupuntil kadiri ikana and Emordi won it for them.

Keshi and Amodu stings with the national team were better than what this present coach is having now. Instead of moving the national team forward the team is moving backward.
