@rachiwise, I had the GRE problem. All i did as to fill out a contact request form on ETS.org and requested that they send another copy with my address in it and i recieved them about 3 weeks later. |
I am not from the south south, but i thinkk i will rather support the millitants than the crininal organization that is the Federal Govt.Left to me alone ,Nigeria should be burn to the ground because this country is bulit on injustice and The average Nigerians have deliberately allowed ourselves to be blindfolded and misled because of or passive mentality, greed and sheer stupidity. |
@rachiwise and wanville, pls i need help as i am in a dilemma, i am expecting a second I-20 showing funding from the university but i am told that i have to apply for an interview very early as i am expected to resume during the 1st week of august. Should i go ahead and apply for interview with my first I-20 or do i wait patiently for second I-20 which may come by the end of the month? the international office of the school advised me to apply early and use both I20's for the interview , what do you think? |
Guys, i just got a fellowship from penn state university, so they will be sending me another I-20 to reflect the funding. pls i hope it is not too late to apply for a visa in the month of june since i am still waitnig for a new I-20, and how much should i have in my account balance since i am being funded. @ prince84, I am waithng for a second I-20 to reflect my funding, i hope i will not be late in my application. |
Obasanjo apologist's only shows us that Nigerians are a physcologically defeated people, imagine the a man who has the character to sleep with his daughter inlaw is Nigeria's best president just shows how low we have reduced ourselves to. |
@prince and rachiwise, what of the possibilty of an assistantship during the second year? |
please i just been informed by penn state university that i would be receiving my I20 nxt week, I would like to know if 1-How to pay the SEVIS fee and if debit cards from Nigerian Banks eg Zenith banks cards are accepted. 2- The amount that i should have in my Bank account for the Visa interview. Thanks @rachiwise , its not a private school but penn state university, personally i think i can handle the first year but i dont know if i can get funding for the second year. |
Thanks for yor reply, i have already gotten admission to Penn State University for fall 2009 and i am sure most schools deadlines for fall would have expired. Pls i want to know what my chances are of getting funding for the second year. Thanks |
Pls, i have been asked by Penn State University to provide a bank statement showing $41,800 for 1st year funding and letters showing intention to cover the same amount for the next two years.Pls i would like to know whther i would pay that amount for 3yrs and pls what is the average duration of a maters program in the us. |
The fact is that Christainity has been hijacked by politicians ever since constantinople, the roman emperor made it a state Religion. The spread of christianity despite heavy persecution during that time was a means by the emperor to unite his kingdom.TRUE CHRISTAINITY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS- that is why Jesus never entered political debates during his time, hw always emphasized on the heart and soul of a man. That was also why the jews never accepted him as messiah or recognized him. Over the course of history, christianity has been used as a vehicle for some o the most narcissitic agenda's in History, because any religion require's intellkectual surrender to achiee political aims and is a means of personal or group identity - The catholic church used it as a means of achieving power and land. -Used to justify slave trade. -Even used for Nazi propagand. -Used by the Neoconvicts in america for impearlistic purposes. - used by Nigerian politicians and pastors to loot and decieve the masses. But True Christianity has also brought out the best in Men. Democracy today has christian underpinnings, Great men like Martin Luther King used it to advance great causes.and a lot of good christians over the world are doing great things with christianty. To all the Atheists True Christainity devoid of politics is what jesus christ emphasied on and is still being practiced by many today.Imagine what the world would be if there is no religion today.Christainty fills a void in amns soul that society cannot fix. |
Pls all those that are advocates for Greater Nigerian great should pls stop being narcissistic and saythe Truth. That Nigeria has been hijacked and the conditions for private enterprise in Nigeria are just to draconian for any long term business to thrive. As long as conditions at home remain like this, we will have this debate forever,( very few Nigerians really just want to leave thier country for Greener pastures out of lack of Innovation). |
The illusion that right now things can get better in Nigeria is a myth.I'm not being pessimistic , Im just being very realistic. We Nigerians at home have allowed our country to be hijacked by a cabal(PDP) and they that we are very docile and cannot think properly. The conditions for investment and private enterprise are just is almost non-existent. 1-First of all there is a strong monopoly on crucial infrastructres for business and certain businesses, that has beeen hijacked--thats a fact, no amount of patriotic talk can obscure this fact.if you are not connected to this people , no hope for you. 2- some of the very leaders that claim to speak for us (Govenors, Senators, Representatives and civil service) cannot approve any business ideas without collecting bribes that far offset thethe capital and profit combined. How can honest business thrive in such an evnvironment.Eg try and get a local contract and see how much bribes you will have to pay.Its not worth it. 3- complete collapse of infrastructure particularly Power and Fuel supply.Tthe average Nigerian at home does not seem to care. 4- the fetish and ignorant behavior of nigerians in General.(from tribalism, nepotism ,cryonism, hatred for innovation, discrimation against youth and novel ideas from youth by our elders, hatred for success, inabilty to use/pay bank loans etc). These are some of the mammoth roblems that you face as an entrepreneur in this country.Yes there are some succeses, put that pales in comparison to the number of businesses that could have flourished if these factors were corrected. |
Nigerian movies arent that good , they only appeal to the largely illiterate society that we have in Nigeria and do not have a worlwide audience. -They have no good plots, screenplay, continuitya nd thier actors do not have any charcater, that is why we dont have any of our movies being screened across major film festivals. The absence of movie critics, censorship and ratings do not help matters . But i am for anything that can improve the revenue base of Nigeria. |
Global economiccrisis isjust a Global economic Fraud Perpertrated by a clandestine group of ecomonic hit men who have conned the world out of it's wealth under the pretext of failed financial business models. The Average Nigerian sees everything as an act of God because they cannot think or act for themselves. |
I really thank God for all the Yoruba people on this thread that can come out and say thread Truth , the way it is. Obasanjo was a complete Disaster and dissapointment and the mainstrem Youruba's saw this in 1999 and warned us, but we blindly voted him into office because of tokenism. I am completely appalled by the medival logic that is used by Obasanjo's apologist's. This African mentality that Old age must be Glorified ahead of Reason is the major reason why Africa cannot embrace change.OLD AGE IS A SIGN OF GREY HAIR, NOT A SIGN OF WISDOM. We have totally sold ourselves to slavery with this our leaders and tradition of not holding them accountable.May God save Nigeria, that is if he cares any longer. |
People like Gettysburg are a reflection of what is gone wrong with our society, they reflect Nigeria's acceptance and defense of a culture of corruption. You dont need a rocket scientist to tell you that Obasanjo is a corrupt leader, Do you? |
The only defense that Obasanjo's supporters have is that he was not the worst President and that goes to show that they are just clutching at straws and have no credible arguement. Comparing Obasanjo with Abacha is a failure on it's own merit.Comparing him with Yaradua is like critisizing the tree without paying attention to the root. |
The support that Obasanjo's minions on this forum is a reflection of the failed society that we have in this country. It is obvious to see why Nigeria's is not working.People have no moral compass and have sold thier concience for a bowl of porridge .You dont need a rocket scientist to know that Obasanjo's second stint was a total disaster. These students in London have done what the average Nigerian has failed to do a long time ago. |
Finally, anybody that thinks Obasanjo was a great leader because of Yardua's performance has fallen for a deceptive claim.I liken that comparison to what ugly women in medieval spain used to do - to make themslves look beautiful they would carry monkeys on thier shoulders so that compared to the monkey they looked beautiful.Unfortunately Nigerians are to gullible to know this.Yaradua is a product of Obasanjo and the will of Nigerians was not represented in his selection. |
All those defending Obasanjo are the very reason why Africa is in the deplorable state it is.You should be ashamed of yourselves becuase you have no idea of the concept of Democracy. This notion that a leader can run a country like his personal Estate, can hold public office and yet cannot be held accountable is the very reason why autocratic regimes and corruption always thrive. Some people are even introducing Traditional beliefs and calling for Obasanjo to be treated as an Elder- what does being an elder have to do with being the President? Are we running a Monarchy? I-report , it is obvious that you do not understand the Democratic process and you think that it is like running your village. The people of Britian are obviously aware of their Rights and are exposed to the culture of democracy, unlike we here that have sold ourselves to slavery because we cannot stand up against injustice. |
Do you think Israel should show more restraint in the current crisis because let's face it, there has been disproportionate use of violence and force by the Israelis and the Millitary Action is counter producive. It is causing untold carnage, destruction, trauma on innocent children, starvation, fear and is puhsing moderate palestinians to the edge. Not that support the actions of Hammas, as a matter of fact I not only detest and do not recognise them, I hold them responsbile for the suffering of the citizens of Gaza they are nothing but stupid hypocritical Terrorists. But Hammas are trying to dupe the world into getting International sympathy by using ordinary Palestinians as human shields or trying to invite Israeli Agression to stir resentment, push moderate palestinians towards extremism which only serves their cause and gives them legitimacyand so far Israel seems to be playing according to thier script. Finally, I support Israel's right to existence and right to defend herself, but the thier current strategy is not only counter-productive but creates an environment for an endless pool of Hammas recruits and will not produce the long term results that Israel desires. Nairalanders what do you think? (for extemists pls remember that you are Nigerians not Israelis or Palestinians) |
Thanks for all the info, i think they accept debit cards,it's just how to obtain the card and make the payment, without disclosing any info to anybody. The School requested for those details and im not sure whther its safe.NVstaff i need more info boh on cards and how to pay. |
pls, i would like to know if. 1- it is safe to provide a university with my card details (card number, Billing address etc), to pay my application fees. 2- if not how can i pay for fees ( about $50) to the institution online using visacard? thanks, for any information. |
By the way the War was about securing America's Energy future. The rise of America's Economy as World Power was based on Cheap Oil.The War was supposedd to be called Operation Iraqi Liberation (OIL) but realizing the symbolism, Bush changed its name. That is why majority of the Contract Biddings carried out by Al- Maliki will favor Halliburton and Chevron. The oil may not be flowing now but wait for the contracts to be awarded. The preponderance of oil quota's will always favor the american's mark my word. Why do you think America is creating so much problem in Venezuela and Boilvia, its simple Oil and Gas. |
@chidi chris, i dont see any sense in dragging Nigerians into this discussion. If nigerians have made it clear that they will allow injustice and oppression to go unchecked then thats thier choice and has no connection to the journalist that threw shoes at Mr bush. You have no right to judge the man considering the horrors that he could have gone through. Bill Clinton had an affair in office and almost got impeached.George Bush also lied to his country and the world that has led to death's of many, throwing of shoes is the least that the journalistwho has lost so much could do.At least when Clinton Lied people did not Die. Saddam may have been bad but an average iraqi would have always prefared an Iraqi dictaor to an american one.The war in Iraqi is the mst stupid strategic mistake ever.Sure saddam was bad but not compared to thisIt has given Iran the upper edge in the region , it has totally destoyed Iraq,Created a huge Deficit for America's budget, claimed he lives of 4,000 american lives and Millions of INNOCENT Iraqi lives. On your Claim that Mr Bush is a man of action, well thats just a specious point. Being a man of actoin is not the same as being a man of common sense.its not enough for one to be tough headed but you also should be clearheaded. If he was such a man of action why did he dodge the draft to Vietnam and falsify his Millitary records George Bush is not a UNITER he is an UNTIER.He has done nothing but untie. He untied American unity in his election, untied theIraqi war, untied the American Economy, untied relations with Europe and the World, Untied Progress in Environmental change, did not even serve his country in the millitary, need i go on. He could be your hero good for you, perhaps because he has set the bar of expectations so low that if he does not drool in Public, then he is impressive. |
RichyBlack don't mind all those Neocon wannabe's on nairaland, the guy that threw that shoe has more courage than Nan cy Pelosi. Considering the number of Death's that Bush, Cheney,Rumsfeld,Karl Rove and his cabal are responsible for, Bush is lucky he only had shoes thrown at him.Sadly Bush backers are abysmal in imagining themselves in anyone's elses shoes. I'm sure David Dylan and Texxazpete still believe that Iraqi's will welcome Americans with flowers as Dick Cheney once said. |
it's amazing how some neo conservative supporting Nairalanders believe that throwing shoes is a major achievement.if this is how Bush and his supporters view freedom of expression then we can do without his ideas and his superstitious ''Bush Doctrine''. But i have to give kudo's to him for his sharp reflexes, i only wonder why he did not act pre-emptively or return fire. |
here's what the guy said. "This is a gift from the Iraqis. This is the farewell kiss, you dog," the journalist shouted (in Arabic). The man threw the second shoe and added: "This is from the widows, the orphans and those who were killed in Iraq." |
T-shirt for Bush: "I Liberated Iraq and all I got were Two Shoes" |
I am not impressed with the way some misguided Biafra apologists are trying to manipulate the Jos crisis for thier own selfish purposes. The people killed in jos are mainly of Plateau descent and not ibo's.it just shows that the some ibo's are still harbouring mischievous intentions and forget that they are not the only one's in the world that have lost a civil war. Fact is both Igbo's and Hausa' ethinic group and even the Yoruba's to a lesser degree have Imperialistic tendencies. The last 5 yrs i have spent in the N/delta,most N-deltans simply do not trust the ibo's and believe that they have hegemonic intentions towards them if Biafra has succeeded, which is similar to the On's the Hausa's have to the Midlle Belt. As for the Hausa's they are getting what they deserve for their Jihadist's and violent Mentality.Thier refusal to embrace Education and thier romance with violence and backwardness will always leave them as the poorest Ethnic group no matter how they control Abuja, only a handfull of the Hausa's are wealthy compared to thier southern counterparts so in a real sense the South has more Economic power than them so they should stop deluding themselves. The yoruba's are the double dealing bunch in this entity called Nigeria.I always laugh when people like Deepzone(shallow zone) spew senseless tribalist rant against the North when it is the Yourba's that have always connived with the North to keep this Country together. The Middle-Belt needs to wake up and start developing themselves independently and stop accepting Mediocrity,The jos is a typical example of the what happens when you fall asleep. The Niger-Deltans should stop whining about resources and start investing intheir future rather than using Marginalization as an excuse for Profilgacy.I pity this Country when that Oil runs Out. Fact is all Ethnic groups in Nigeria have thier flawed Ethos, and are equal contibutors to the Failure that is Nigeria. Until we can divorce ourslves from cheap tribalism and recognize like the Europeans how to harmonize our differences we will remain as the failures whether we divide or not.Nigeria is just a mirror of our individual failures and shows that we are still a backward Race. You are all Africans, |
