pcguru1:There are a whole lot of very good Christian rock bands. A whole lot. |
Raymarkable:Fully agree with everything you have said, bro. Good to see a fellow rock lover on this forum as well. Thing with music is, it is food for the soul. Whatever you feed your soul eventually, gradually becomes a big part of you. Now, I have always told people, there is a BIG difference between HEARING a song and LISTENING to a song. The way the society is at the moment, so called secular music is more or less ubiquitous. There is simply no avoiding them no matter where you go. I, for one, do not appreciate most of these secular songs. That doesn't mean I don't hear them - I do. However, do I LISTEN to them? Big NO!!! Do I even bother to look beyond the catchy beats and into the lyrics, heck NO!!! So, what happens when you put on the radio and the first thing you hear is Wizkid's In My Bed? Or On top your matter? Or 2face's Enter The Place? What then do you do. If you switch off the radio, your neighbor is playing it. If your neighbor is not playing it, the shop nearby is or the barber or the hairdresser or the common artisan. So, as I have said, it's easier just hearing these songs and not listen to them atall. That way, you are able to sieve out the lewd part of it all - the LYRICS. But the world today makes it such that there is now a very very thin line between Christianity, as a religion, and worldliness. Simply put, RELIGION IS A BIG PROBLEM in our world today. The same guy who sings 'I wanna Bleep you' today is seen in church tomorrow singing 'it is well with my soul'. The same babe you saw in the club on Friday in a skimpy gown is the lead chorister in church on Sunday. This is why I prefer to look beyond religion these days. I simply avoid churches that preach Christianity as a religion. It is more A WAY OF LIFE than anything else, and should be seen as such. That way, the confusions and temptations of the world are much more easier to handle and jettison. |

moyakz:You said only ugly girls feel the need to go for beauty pageants and I said nope you are wrong. That doesn't really need much of an explanation, does it? The generalization of your statement gave you off Means if I mention just one beautiful girl who contested in a pageant, your sentiment comes tumbling down. |
moyakz: |
Ezinwa120:Bro, truth be told, yours is a very complicated situation. You really need to be sure of the implications of whatever decision you make on yourself, your family and relations, as well as your unborn children. First of all, I think you need to take that girl to a well trusted and reliable hospital or lab for more tests in order to be sure about the diagnosis and prognosis of whatever is wrong with her. For one, how are we even sure it is only the kidney problem she has? You mentioned the discovery of a lump and the first thing that came to mind is cancer (God forbid). Now, say she has other underlying issues, are you sure you are ready to risk future heartbreaks and anxiety for yourself and your children? Secondly, your mum is already against the whole stuff. Trust me, they might have an unorthodox way of conveying their sentiments, but mothers are almost always right. Have a sit down with her, seek her explanations, the reasons she doesn't want you to marry her and finally seek her candid advice. She knows alot more than you. Do not discard her sentiments. Thirdly, you really need to detach love from sentiments. It is very hard, but some decisions are best made without the burden of the 'L-word'. Consider all possible options and possibilities, consider the medical advice you'll get from experts, consider your siblings' opinions and consider your mum's opinion as well. But most of all, do not take your heart on a journey without your head. Never! Finally, pray! Now, I am not all for religion and stuff. But pray to whatever God you believe in. The divine angle to matters like this cannot be overlooked. You'll be fine bro. All the best. |
moyakz:Ermmm, nope You are wrong |
devonpaul:Evening bro Can you please send the sample questions to my mail? kgold517@gmail.com. Thanks alot bro |

Along with shows such as Got Talent and X Factor, The Voice has always been one of my best talent shows. Always tried to follow as avidly as possible through the years and honestly, I have never been disappointed. Imagine my delight when The Voice got to Nigeria. Alot of people said we cannot measure up. Some said it would be a sham. But I have always believed there are lots and lots of talents in this country. Was involved in organising one or two talent shows back on campus and seriously the talent on display, even at that level, gave me shivers right to the spine. Now I haven't been able to follow The Voice Nigeria as much as I want to (location problems) but I try as much as possible to catch up on YouTube. Fellow The Voice followers: What are your views concerning the show? Which of the judges have you been impressed with? Which of the judges shouldn't be there at all? Which of the contestants has really impressed you? (I, for one, have been really blown away by that Chike guy. From Project Fame right to The Voice, that guy just has to make it big soon) Are you impressed with the standards set so far? Please feel free to share videos and links as well. Thanks. |
