Omo Tier 1, thanks for your reply, one of the confusion is NQF level 7 or above. I guess above means master's then. Cheers!

Dear all, this new Tier 4 rule from July 4 is confusing o. Pls what does this mean? If I am going for my Master's does it mean I can't go with my parner even if i am on a shcolarship?

"From 4 July 2011, only new students sponsored by a higher education institution on a course at NQF level 7 or above lasting 12 months or more, and new Government sponsored students following a course that is longer than six months, will be able to bring their partners and / or children to the UK with them".

i thank evrybody 4 all their advice!in my previous application to UK embassy,i used d letter of transfer frm d bank into my account on 09/092009 but i was denied visa based of non submitting d original visa.pls,i want to know if all my previous document i submitted in my my last application is still valid.though,i'll get an updated bank statement for the new application and original visa.my school has extend my resumption date till Nov29 next month now.should i get new a letter showing letter of transfer into my account and d new letter of sponsorship from d person that sent d money into my personal account?

kinds regards,

alabi1

I am happy your school extended your resumption, hope there is a letter to back it up. You know that they have a new law now that the money must have being held in your account for 28 days before application? So, if that is done, then the letter of transfer, sponsor letter and all the necessary previous doucments you submitted with the first application will do. All the best bro.

@ell77: thanks a lot. And about the "Inscan @ OC". Mine was like that all Tuesday and when I got to the collection centre it wasn't there. They asked me to be back the following day for it. I think iz2much needs to go to the centre and see if it's there.

@all

I thank the Most High for his unending support, I got my visa last friday. It was so surprising, I had to use sleeping tablet thursday/friday night because my friend got his on wed. I was so worried, because he said he wouldnt be able to chill till i get mine. just on friday around 9am. Glory Education Service called me that my passport is ready for collection. I got online immediately and tracked it, I found out its true, It was like a dream, I had to use water to wash my face to be sure if im dreaming or not. I thank my lord Jesus, he did everything for me, he's everything to me.

@khadie and iz2much

Please just keep on praying and tracking at the same time. I'm sure its before this Thursday and I'm going to read your success story here. OK pls don't be worried. He did it for me, he wouldn't find yours difficult to do in Jesus name.

Congratulations Kunle93! I was wondering why I never heard from you for a while. Mine says Inscan at OC at the moment. i am sure it will be ready soon. You got your in after 5 working days. I think it's true that the embassy recognizes some agents and work faster on their applications even though they don't admit it publicly.

I was refused cuz i dnt ave original WAEC result.PLS WAT CAN I DO?

There have being other visa applicants on this forum faced with the same problem and the advice given to them if I remember correctly is for one to go to WAEC office at Ogba and get original certificate. I think you should do that now.
Travel / Re: Uk Visa - Visa Appeal Process by Khadie(f): 10:34am On Oct 12, 2009
@ Alabi1: I think you should get another bank statement that will show your current fund state. That should not take you more than a day or 2. Get bank statement that will cover you till September ending and with the fund having being there for up to 28 days. Then do you have to wait till the 16th of October b4 you reapply? Do so latest by the 14th and explain to them at the submission centre about the deadline, so they may give you 5 working days to process your visa. And if you are waiting till the 16th because of the original visa letter that will be sent to you. Explain in the "Additional Information" part that the school just sent original letter hence the delay in reapplying etc,  Good luck

Will UK Visa not cover Ireland? Is there a different embassy for Ireland or is it not with the British High Commission?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries by Khadie(f): 6:49pm On Oct 11, 2009
@ Ell77: good luck with your business registration and everything in Nigeria. You need someone reliable to help you look for an office. I hope you will come to Nigeria to oversee things yourself. So, where is your website url?

Travel / Re: Uk Visa - Visa Appeal Process by Khadie(f): 5:05pm On Oct 10, 2009
@ Alabi1; please do not bother to appeal. Reapply now. I am in the same shoes with you, rejected on the 18/09/09 and I have to reapply. I am on scholarship/fellowship and still got my visa refused because the school did not send original letter. This happened to 5 out of 8 fellows from all over Africa. So, I know what I am talking about. If you read Tier 4 guidance, you will see that you don't have a case. Your case will be dismissed eventually after you might have wasted time! Reapply, you are on the wrong and while at it, submit original visa letter and extension date for your resumption if applicable.

Hello Guys, its good to know that there's a forum like this to ask questions from people with real life and practical knowledge.

Of recent, I and my fiance have been toying with the idea of securing a highly skilled immigrant work permit from the uk.

I am sure y'all very well know that getting this is based on a point based -system which covers areas like education qualification, age ,income.

My Fiance qaualifies becos the policy of the scheme has been  recently changed to score points on education only if you have additional qualifications e.g a masters degree (which she just conculded);while i am just about putting in for mine in unilag.now this point (education) carires a lot of weight which makes my total  points insufficient to qualify.

With this, the idea came that she becomes the primary applicant while i become the dependant ;of cos based on marital relationship as we plan to get married.

Though i have gone thru the designated uk site for the scheme;i sincerely want honest opinions and practical insights as to how this arangement might work out for us.

Also i wouldnt mind to know the documents to put together and all.one can understand these things better if it comes from experienced individuals rather than just reading it on a websites.

furthermore, what are the prosppects there cos there is always the fear of the unknown?

I have a friend currently working in the uk(legitimately) dat has been bugging me  to try and find my way down there,my fiance also have cosins that have been telling her same.however, i know that money dont grow on trees over there and life is not all bed of roses;reason why am trying to get 3rd party opininion/advice on this forum.

I have never realy been big on living abroad;but i just feel why not?, even if its just for few years and most importantly give your kids an opportunity to be citizens of the "world" rater than a country  that has not moved any where and without electricity for the past 45 yrs wallowing in abject poverty in the mist of plenty.

Now pple will say "so is running abroad going to solve the problem?", my answer to  that is:self preservation and survival is the only way to gurantee the future of any human. i can only change things if i am alive, mentaly sane and have the economnic power to do so.

My honest opinion of  the present Nigeria without unneccessary sentiments of "nigeria is the only true country i have" and all that crap is that it can not guarantee that survival with the THIEVES,BARBARIANS and MADMEN  that rule us.

kindly help a broda out!

I think the best will be for your fiance to do hers first and invite you over as her dependant since they recognize unmarried or civil partner or if you guys want to get married before she leaves that may help your application in the long run. See, http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoapply/infs/inf21pbsgeneralmigrant#13774537. I am sure the house will give you better advice on this.

BABABABA:

pls do i have to show evidence of accomodation becos the college does not have any hall of residence, the college advised that if i can show £7200 meant for maintance in my account it will be good enough, that i shld not bother myself paying any estate agent for accomodation letter.pls what is your opinion about this?is it true that the ECO dont look out for accomodation letter again?dont u think the ECO might ask where do u want to live in your first few days in the UK as they normarly do b4 the tier 4 PBS.pls dont say my ques is too much ooo.i am just trying to get advise becos the PBS system is new to me

There is  a place in the self assessment form under PBS that asked if your accommodation fee has being paid to your sponsor and if you say no, I want to think that the part where you will have to show that you have sufficient fund to cover outstanding expenses in the form will help as your account details will back up the fact that you do have the fund. House what do you think?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries by Khadie(f): 10:56am On Oct 08, 2009
ell77:

The money needs to be in your account, the account of your parents or a combination of the two. It can be in multiple accounts if it meets these requirements. But you must present the information clearly and write oanda conversion on each. To make it clearer you can reference and write this total of sums i.e.
Exhibit A - TOTAL SUM:
-Supporting bank statement 1 shows £4000 belonging to Miss Lola Thomas (the applicant),
-Supporting bank statement 2 shows £4000 belonging to Miss Lola Thomas (the applicant),
-Supporting bank statement 3 shows £10,000 belonging to Mr Kunle Thomas (the applicant's father - please see exhibit B for parental statement of consent/financial sponsorship).

b.iriah. use this useful info from ell77,  and since the account belong to your parents, I guess you are on the right path.
