Like i always say, Islam and xtianity are two parallel lines. Islam is not a religion you jus innovate new doctrines. For example, majority of u 'christlike' pple celebrate dec. 25th as ur God's bday. Hw many times was it mentioned in d scriptures dt he hosted parties nd danced on dec. 25th to celebrate his birth?? Who brought up ds ideology? Ds sunday dancin and clappin, who started it? Was it jesus?? ofcourse, ur deeds will definitely count on d day of judgement, we all knw dt. But that to me is not an excuse as to why u choose not to bear a quranic name or a name dt affiliates you with islam, jus because is arabic. Ds same bla bla bla..God only looks at the heart of men dt pple always use as a defensive block. U wil see ladies ressed half naked in the street nd they ll say 'God only looks at the heart of men'. Who re u deceiving? As a nigerian and a muslim, u just cant separate arabic language from islam, unless u abadon d deen nd stick to ur cultural values cos islam radiates from d heart to ur outward character and IDENTITY. I wouldnt named my child Aishah just because it is arabic like i said earlier, Aishah is d name of the noble wife of d prpht(saw). She was a muslim,a pious one, a role model for the believing women. donwilz: I am no muslim, but what you are saying in essence is the allah will not understand you when you speak in other languages, apart from arabic?. This is the height of ignorance and complex issues. The Op is spot on IMHO. This also applies to Christians! I don't get the logic in bearing alien names. I was laughed at in my high school days because i have no English name.. What happened to our pride ? God created all mankind equally. That is the beauty of diversity. Don't you ask yourselves , why God/Allah didn't make us all a single race? This is the beauty of his creation.. DIVERSITY.. Never forget your roots!. The problem here is not just the diversity in languages. It goes beyound that. Now, where is it in d bible that a groom must wear a suit nd his wife, a white garment and expose her hair if she chose to? Or is it african??. Islam and christianity do not go hand in hand, they re just too distinct frm each other. In islam, everything is unambigiously spelt out. The way u shld dress, pray, eat, even the directn u turn while u sleep, d step u take while enterin d toilet...d list is endless. Islam is a complete way of life. U dnt just chip in new ideas jus because u feel u re educated. Sincerely there is nothin to argue. U shld rather be concerned about how u hav americanised xtianity wit all ur erudite knowledge |

What is the arguement here? The language of the Quran is arabic. Or perhaps u could produce a yoruba version to suit your cultural beliefs. Arabic is the universal language of muslims, is a fact! If i chose to be a muslim, then am ready and willing to accept every aspect of the deen, in my everyday life, whether my culture admits it or not. Yes, call me an extremist, is my choice. If i chose to name my child khadeeja, it is not because it is an arabic name, but because d pious wife of d prophet was called by that name. I knw very soon someone wil bring up anoda story as to why we hav to go all d way to makkah to perform hajj (since is in d land of d arabs) wen we can jus build anoda 'imaginary' kaabah in yoruba land. 4 Likes |

because he is yet to get a job. Am 24, nd a masters student. Though he keeps sayin he is ready nd capable bt i dnt buy dt. Afta al my struggle nd his, i dnt see any reason y i shld rely on his family to survive. No, i'd rather wait. He is such a nice man, nd am waitin nd prayin fr him. |

Take a look at south west nd some states in south south for instance. Any wonder y this states wil continue to grow frm heights to heights?? Is simple! Wen it comes to politics nd electing a leader, they toss religious and tribal sentiments aside. So if kaduna state governor is a muslim, the muslims shld careless hw he manages d affairs of d state? Is absurd, absolutely! Gov. Adams, d edo state gov. Was massively voted into govt. by the bini pple even wen the opposition was a bini man.
