PoliticsRe: 2017 Budget: You Are Ignorant, Fashola Blasts Senate, House Spokespersons by khalids: 8:53am On Jun 27, 2017
We all thought getting the right people into the executive would solve our problems.....we got a credible president (i think), we got good ministers.......And then set them all up, by voting in cogs in the wheel of development called senators and representatives.

Its becoming obvious that if we are to move forward as a nation, we need to ensure that only credible and right thinking Nigerians get to the senate and house of representatives........These are the guys that meant to push our grievances and hold the executives to account on our behalf.

Come to think about it.....the agenda that the senators and rep members push is not the peoples agenda....When have they ever gone to their constituencies to hold meetings to get the peoples thoughts, when have they come to give feedback on the progress of issues raised by the constituents.....the answer is NEVER.......But this is suppose to be their primary role and responsibility.

The fact is these people are representing themselves and their pocket...........Just keep in mind that anything they do is for self interest only and they don't give a Bleep about Nigeria or Nigerians

PoliticsBiafra: A Nairalander's Point of View by khalids(op): 10:51am On Jun 26, 2017
I liked his angle of approach and had to share

chiscodedon:
How to permanently end the Biafra agitation

A Yoruba friend asked me: Under what conditions would you support "One Nigeria" and let go of the Biafra agitation and let it die down and finally laid to rest for good?

Here was my response:
1. Close down Lagos ports and open up PH, Calabar, Onitsha and Warri ports.

2. Cancel all direct and major connecting flights to Lagos and Abuja airports only local connecting flights will be allowed. While this is being done, open up Enugu, Calabar, Owerri, Asaba, Uyo and PH to international flights direct and major connecting flights.

3. Ask all international and diplomatic missions to move their embassies and consulates from Lagos, Kano and Abuja to Enugu, PH and Calabar.

4. All federal governments’ agencies in Lagos and Abuja shall be relocated to Enugu, PH and Calabar. CBN, NNPC, e.t.c shall and must relocate to PH, Calabar and Enugu.

5. All multinational companies in Lagos and Abuja, shall and must relocate their offices to PH, Calabar and Enugu.

6.All oil companies must relocate their head offices to PH, as the oil capital of Nigeria.

7. Let the northern children gain admission into federal schools with 300 score points while the South Eastern Children should gain admission with only 20 score points .

8. Let all federal road projects in the North/SW should be handled by one local companies and the one in the SE/SS should be handled by Julius Berger and foreign construction companies.

If these conditions can be fulfilled and implemented for 50years , we can try one Nigeria and let see if you the North and SW will like it for a month. Meaning that Yorubas and Hausas needing to get international visas shall travel to PH, Calabar or Enugu to do that. Same with flying or connecting flights, same with shipping and importing their goods, etc etc.

The Yoruba friend replied: You can’t be serious, this is wickedness and I said... Really? Don’t you think South South and South. Eastern part of Nigeria have been suffering and enduring this very same wickedness for over 50 yrs?

He was quiet for a few seconds and said: Wow, you are right but it never occurred to me.

I said, that’s the problem with One Nigeria, those who are benefiting from it, love it and would love to maintain the status quo. Let each region develop at her own pace, with Airport, Seaports, industries, major projects open to be developed in any part of Nigeria without government interference or strangulation due to tribalism and nepotism!

Let Nigeria be fair to ALL irrespective of tribe, religion, and place of birth. Let there be true federalism and resources control, with the elimination of quota system and federal character in Nigeria. Let's have equal respect for one another irrespective of where the person is coming from in Nigeria. That is what Biafra agitation is all about.

THE SIMPLE TRUTH

Whoever tells you that if Biafra succeed or gain her independence that Igbos leaving in the North or Yoruba land will loose their properties and that things will become worst is an enemy and is among the people that are benefiting from the fraudulent arrangement that exist in Nigeria.

Yugoslavia broke into 6 countries namely: Serbia,Macedonia,Solvenia,Bosnia Hezegovia,Montengro and heaven did not fall. They did not leave their Job,leave their formal country before voting to leave....... after voting to leave, all those in the new created countries automatically become foreigners.

Malaysia broke into 2 namely: Malaysia & Singapore and heaven did not fall.

Pakistan broke into 2 namely: Pakistan & Bangladesh and heaven did not fall

United Arab Republic broke into 2 namely: Egypt & Syria and heaven did not fall

If Biafra go, it doesn't mean we can't travel anywhere again provided we have our traveling documents ready.

Why is it that Hausas & Fulanis see Biafra break up as war? Are you not tired of sucking & stealing our oil down to Kaduna reserve, Bornu reserve, and now Liberia reserve?

Allow Biafra to go because Biafrans have suffered a lot of humiliation, intimidation & marginalisation in the hand of this wicked contraption called Nigeria.

eyinjuege:
Hope you know some women too don't have peace of mind from their husbands. Yet, they haven't died.

What you should be more concerned is "what are the causes of death of the men in question?"

There's no cause of death/ sickness called "wahala".

Are they dying from cancer? Linked with smoking btw. Are they dying from obesity, hypertension , diabetes?
Are they dying from road traffic accidents? Linked with alcohol ingestion too.
Or are the wives poisoning their husbands?

I know stress is also linked with a lot of diseases, but stress because your wife is a nag is highly improbable. The stress is more likely due to the fact that you're trying to make ends meet, or a loss of a loved one/ money etc.
But again, women also face these same stressors, and yet the men still die before them.
So it's definitely more than just nagging causing this. Certain hormones found in women can be protective against heart diseases though, so that's another reason why women may live longer.
Funny a lot of the items you mentioned, drinking, smoking, etc.......are some means by which men try to escape the hell in their homes....and at the end of the day these vices kill them

eyinjuege:
Please, many women are doing all the above listed and even more, and they still haven't died before their spouses.
Providing isn't the exclusive rights of the man, as we can see in present day Nigeria. Many women hustle legitimately, and bring in much needed bread into their homes.

The real reasons men die earlier than their wives-
1. Following the natural order of things: the older should die before the younger. Its not rocket science. Most men in Nigeria marry younger women.
2. Health seeking behaviour amongst men. Many men don't seek medical intervention for ailments worrying them in time. They usually present late with their ailments, which already have become complicated and more difficult to treat.
3. Lifestyle choices- it's a known fact that men drink more and smoke more in Nigeria than women. Alcohol makes people lose inhibition, gives false confidence, increase the risk taking behaviour and so you see more men drink driving and killing themselves in the process.
Cigarettes without any doubts has been linked to almost all the chronic deadly diseases. Even the tobacco companies clearly give their warnings that smokers are more liable to die young.
4. Men have been known to take more risks than women. Usually impulsive btw, and not necessarily calculated.
5. Men have also being known to take up more dangerous jobs than women. You hardly find women engineers on oil rigs, or as firefighters, or find them climbing mtn masts, or nepa poles.
6. Men are naturally at risk of certain disease such as hypertension. That's definitely not going to prolong their lifespans will it?
7. Certain dangerous vices are found more amongst men such as kidnappings, armed robbery. You find women committing such crimes too, but more of men. And of course such crimes carry their own risks- being shot at sight by law enforcement etc.
8. Men are at a higher risk of succeeding in committing suicide than women, even though we have more suicide attempts amongst women. Women usually attempt suicide, but are usually not successful
If a man decides to commit suicide, he's more likely to succeed.

Etc..... I could go on and on. Most of the points I've put up there are researched facts, and not beer parlour gists that men die from the nagging of their women
All what you have said is true.....but a man without peace of mind...due to wahala from his wife will most likely die earlier than his time

FamilyWhy Do Husbands In Africa Die Most Times Before Wives by khalids(op): 6:17pm On Jun 16, 2017
Copy and Pasted as seen.

A husband in Africa in most cases is under intense tension because he is responsible for:

Children school fees
House rents
Electricity bills
Medical bills
Generator fuel & repairs
Car fuel and repairs
Feeding of family
Clothes for children
Xmas and New year bills
Furniture &House maint
In-laws wahala/demand
His own aged parents
His siblings most times
His wife's demands
Vigilante bills
Erecting Building
Religious demands
Family social bills
Electronics bills
Recharge cards
Extended family bills
Community demands

On top of the above, he also faces:

Wife stress/insults
Boss stress at work
Police stress on the way
Area boys stress
Kidnappers fear
Friends stress
Economy stress
Fear of job loss
Unemployment pains
Armed Robbery stress
Children misbehaviour
Neighbours stress
Bank loan paymnt stress
Witchcraft stress
Demonic attack stress
Sex stress
....and so on! OMG!!

Are these reasons not enough for all African Wives to understand and give their husbands peace at home? Are men not trying? How can an African man with this kind of load be romantic like an American man? Women, please give your husband peace at home. Encourage your husband. Stop being sarcastic to him. Except if you like to join the widows club early! Note:
That club is not funny. Ask members. Help your husband. Contribute to the family. Be a helper. Be submissive. Stop nagging. Build your home and marriage. It is not greener outside there. Don't be deceived!!
Let our men and husbands live long like you. Men dey beg una cool cool cool cool

PoliticsEmir Sanusi Bares His Mind On Hausa, Igbo And Yoruba… The Problem Of Nigeria by khalids(op): 6:57pm On Jun 15, 2017
Copied and Pasted.

The former Central Bank Governor, and Emir of Kano His Royal Highness Muhammadu Sanusi the second , surprised guests present at the Muson Centre for the launching of the book of Sir Olaniwun Ajayi.

Below is his unedited speech.

“Let me start by saying that I am Fulani (laughter). My grandfather was an Emir also fulani my uncle and guardian was also the immediate late Emir of Kano Alhaji Ado Bayero and therefore I represent all that has been talked about this afternoon. Sir Ajayi has written a book. And like all Nigerians of his generation, he has written in the language of his generation.

“My grandfather was a Northerner, I am a Nigerian. The problem with this country is that in 2009, we speak in the language of 1953. Sir Olaniwun can be forgiven for the way he spoke, but I cannot forgive people of my generation speaking in that language.

“Let us go into this issue because there are so many myths that are being bandied around. Before colonialism, there was nothing like Northern Nigeria, Before the Sokoto Jihad, there was nothing like the Sokoto caliphate. The man from Kano regard himself as bakane. The man from Zaria was bazazzage. The man from Katsina was bakatsine. The kingdoms were at war with each other. They were Hausas, they were Muslims, they were killing each other.

“The Yoruba were Ijebu, Owo, Ijesha, Akoko, Egba. When did they become one? When did the North become one? You have the Sokoto Caliphate that brought every person from Adamawa to Sokoto and said it is one kingdom. They now said it was a Muslim North.

“The Colonialists came, put that together and said it is now called the Northern Nigeria. Do you know what happened? Our grand fathers were able to transform to being Northerners. We have not been able to transform to being Nigerians. The fault is ours.

Tell me, how many governors has South West produced after Awolowo that are role models of leadership? How many governors has the East produced like Nnamdi Azikiwe that can be role models of leadership? How Many governors in the Niger Delta are role models of leadership? Tell me. There is no evidence statistically that any part of this country has produced good leaders.

You talk about Babangida and the problems of our economy. Who were the people in charge of the economy during Babangida era? Olu Falae, Kalu Idika Kalu. What state are they from in the North?

“We started the banking reform; the first thing I heard was that in Urobo land, there will be a curse of the ancestors. I said they (ancestors) would not answer. They said why? I said how many factories did Ibru build in Urobo land? So, why will the ancestors of the Urobo people support her?

“We talk ethnicity when it pleases us. It is hypocrisy. You said elections were rigged in 1959, Obasanjo and Maurice Iwu rigged election in 2007. Was it a Southern thing? It was not. “The problem is: everywhere in this country, there is one Hausa, Ibo, Yoruba and Itshekiri man whose concern is how to get his hands on the pile and how much he can steal.

Whether it is in the military or in the civilian government, they sit down, they eat together. In fact, the constitution says there must be a minister from every state.

“So, anybody that is still preaching that the problem of Nigeria is Yoruba or Hausa or Fulani, he does not love Nigeria . The problem with Nigeria is that a group of people from each and every ethnic tribe is very selfish. The poverty that is found in Maiduguri is even worse than any poverty that you find in any part of the South.

The British came for 60 years and Sir Ajayi talked about few numbers of graduates in the North (two as at independence). What he did not say was that there was a documented policy of the British when they came that the Northerner should not be educated. It was documented. It was British colonial policy. I have the document. I have published articles on it. That if you educate the Northerner you will produce progressive Muslim intellectuals of the type we have in Egypt
and India. So, do not educate them. It was documented. And you say they love us (North) more than the south.

“I have spent the better part of my life to fight and Dr. (Reuben) Abati knows it. Yes, my grandfather was an Emir. Why was I in the pro-democracy movement fighting for June 12? Is (Moshood) Abiola from Kano ? Why am I a founding director of the Kudirat Initiative for Nigerian Development (KIND)?

“There are good Yoruba people, good Igbo people, good Fulani people, good Nigerians and there are bad people everywhere. That is the truth. “Stop talking about dividing Nigeria because we are not the most populous country in the world. We have all the resources that make it easy to make one united great Nigeria . It is better if we are united than to divide it.

“Every time you talk about division, when you restructure, do you know what will happen? In Delta Area, the people in Warri will say Agbor, you don’t have oil. When was the Niger Delta constructed as a political entity? Ten years ago, the Itshekiris were fighting the Urobos. Isn’t that what was happening? Now they have become Niger Delta because they have found oil. After, it will be, if you do not have oil in your village then you cannot share our resources.

“There is no country in the world where resources are found in everybody’s hamlet. But people have leaders and they said if you have this geography and if we are one state, then we have a responsibility for making sure that the people who belong to this country have a good nature.

“So, why don’t you talk about; we don’t have infrastructure, we don’t have education, we don’t have health. We are still talking about Fulani. Is it the Fulani cattle rearer or is anybody saying there is no poverty among the Fulani?”, he said.
LESSONS FROM THIS MESSAGE

Tribalism is not our problem. Tribalism and religion are artificial problems created by selfish leaders for their own personal interest.

There are only two major tribes in Nigeria. The Elites and the Masses. Once you make lots of money, you belong to the elite tribe. When you are a commoner or suffering, you belong to the tribe of the masses. If you are an elite, and you need more power, or elective position, you sow seeds of tribalism and religion among the masses, so as to sway their emotion for your personal victory. This happens at both the national and state level. Unfortunately, after the election when they have won and joined their “sworn enemies” to drink and party, the gullible masses continue to fight each other.

Even smart people who belong to the masses, sometimes will sow seeds of tribalism and religion among the masses, and then the masses will carry them up until they belong to the elite class. It is a classic strategy used over 3000 years ago in the art of war. A commoner who aspires to sit with the elites, could stir up powerful tribal or religious sentiments, such wave if properly utilized either by shedding blood or destabilizing the elites, carries the commoner to the elite class. But once there, he immediately mingles and makes peace with the elite tribe, and turn his back on the same masses that helped him get there.

Youths are the worst victim of this powerplay, they kill each other, call other tribes unprintable names, do terrible things and sometimes, even lose their life, thinking they are fighting for their right, not knowing that they are fighting for the personal welfare of someone, whose own children are probably safe in America or London.

So youths, don’t hope on the government. If you don’t have a job, create one. There is abject poverty in the south as well as the north, whether Ogoni or Maidugri. At the same time, there is massive wealth in Lagos, Onitsha, Nnewi, Aba, Kano, Abuja, irrespective of zone.

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it well and never remain idle. No job is too low for an idle hand, or else the devil will find work for you. As you become independent, and grow your capacity, do not lose hope in Nigeria. We are the largest economy in Africa and soon the world will fear us. Western powers, don’t like b
ig economies that threaten them, America will do anything to break China, but China is wise to resist that. China has 1.6 billion people, we have only 170 million, and we are talking of breaking.

China has 5 major religions which are Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, Islam and Christianity. Nigeria has only 2 major religions, Christianity and Islam. Yet we claim that religion is our problem.

America, the strongest economy is comprised of every tribe in the world, since they accept anybody from any part of the world. Yet they are united and extremely patriotic. Nigeria has only 3 major tribes, and we claim tribalism.

Think clearly and deeply, and you will realize that empowering yourself is the best course of action, not fighting each other. And once the youths are empowered, they can begin to take back their future from the hands of the old and corrupt generation that has been blinding Nigerians with hatred, while looting all her resources. Sani Abacha’s loot is still stashed away in Switzerland, did he use it to develop the north? Those that stole billions under GEJ stashed it away in foreign banks, bought expensive toys, jets and foreign homes, are they using it to develop the south? Now the ones stealing currently, including the “grasscutters”, are looking for Ikoyi apartments, abandoned houses, and pit toilets to hide it, are they using it for the youths in their tribe? NO!

Youths shine your eyes ! Don’t always fall for this tribal, religious sentiments over and over again. Nigeria is bigger than these corrupt elites. They are the problem, not the poor masses.

I feel sorry for the policemen. In truth, they displayed lack of training. They clearly had the upper hands to take those criminals down. I am not sure they train Nigeria police for emergencies and on the spot strategy. They were running into gunfire from where they were shielded. Why do they think there was security post.
What are you saying...that security post had no shielding what so ever, the two officers that died first where hit by AK47 bullets that penetrated the wall when that first robber opened fire on the security post.

The gallant officer bailed from there because he knew the post offered no protection and he would be cornered there..
