They have been united with their Allah. Now 72 virgins await them! |
This is just misinformation flying all over the place. You should not be in a country illegally. Ice is only rooting out illegal people in the country, not people who have legal papers to work and live in America; whether you're a citizen or immigrant. I don't see anything wrong with a country enforcing it's immigration policies. If you have a problem with that, just leave! People are just taking America for granted. Try to live in an Asian country illegally if you won't be deported. |
This seems terrorist seems to be getting away with this diabolical rhetorics every time. We all know that Sharia is evil |
What comes to mind when you hear of stabbing and indiscriminate shooting in crowded places in a western nation?? An Allahu Akbar screaming terrorists. |
That's islam for you. The only religion that forces little girls into marriage. This is pure evil and it should not be allowed. Her death could have been prevented. |
What's with these Islamist minister with what's going on in another country when we have our own problems. I don't recall seeing this same minister condemn Hamas on October 7th We as Nigerians should be neutral in this situation. |
Did Nigeria strongly condemn the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7 2023? If we didn't, then why should we have anything to say now? I'm not in support of killing innocent civilians, but when you carry out an unprovoked attacked on a peaceful nation, you should be ready for a reprisal attack that could go out of hand. If they want Israel to agree to a ceasefire, let their hostages be released. It's that simple! This is just a case of someone who was hurt and his house burgled and his Precious possessions taken who would go to any length to recover them. I don't even know why Nigeria should be condemning another nation when we are in a state of chaos and the economy in shambles. We need to fix our own problems and stop prying into other people's affairs. |
Supporters of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, and his running mate, Yusuf Datti-Ahmed, yesterday, halted activities in Asaba, Delta State and Calabar, Cross River State for hours as they held road walks across major streets in the two capital towns. In Asaba, commercial tricycle operators had a hectic time during the period of the road walk, which took off from Inter Bau Flyover to Ogbogonogo and then back to the flyover. It was the second shutdown in Asaba as a similar one was held weekend by the ‘Obidient’ Movement, which comprises various support groups for Obi/Datti presidential tickets. They sang and danced to music from various DJs, attracting more people into their folds, who expressed willingness to vote for LP in next year’s presidential election. They also expressed confidence that Nigeria and Nigerians would have a fresh breath of air if Obi is elected President, saying Nigerians are tired of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). According to some of the supporters, the Obi/Datti ticket is the solution to the challenges of insecurity, poor economy, industrial actions and bad leadership. CALABAR supporters converged on the 11-11 Roundabout, from where they proceeded into the streets of Calabar chanting: “Freedom has come finally.” “Youths, seize this God-send opportunity and vote in Mr Peter Obi”, “Our time is fading out. We are doing this for your sake. You better wake up and seize this chance and free yourself from the cabals and corrupt politicians .” Speaking to newsmen, the state Labour Party Chairman, Ogar Osim, said they had estimated to parade only two million in support of Peter Obi’s candidacy but the crowd far exceeded two million. “This is to send a message to other parties, who seem to underrate our strength. You can see that Nigerians are very tired of other parties that bastardise our collective gains and channeled them into selfish paths. “You can see that Nigerians are now rooting for Labour Party and indeed Peter Obi…”

Philippine artist Elito Circa has blood on his hands, literally - but only to create art with. Using blood taken from his own veins, the 52-year old produces canvas paintings that have drawn both praise and criticism because of his unusual choice of medium. Born in a low-income household with little access to school supplies and art materials, Circa explored different mediums, including plums and tomatoes, but it was when he scraped himself as a young boy that his fascination with using blood began. "Every time I got scraped, I would use my own blood since bloodstains are also hard to remove," said Circa, while dabbing a white canvass using a paint brush dipped in blood. Now, Circa goes to the town's health clinic once every three months to have his blood extracted, usually in increments of 500 ml (17 oz), which he stores in a cooler in his studio for future projects. "My artwork is very important to me because they come from me, it is from my own blood, my DNA is part of it... My philosophy is that life is circular and everything is a cycle, so (my blood) is a tool that serves as a reminder of where I came from," Circa said.

A 75-year-old Brazilian man was awarded a Guinness World Record for the most FIFA World Cup tournaments attended by an individual. Daniel Sbruzzi, from Taubaté, São Paulo, attended his first World Cup in Argentine in 1978, and this year's World Cup in Qatar brought his total tournaments attended to 11. Sbruzzi told Guinness World Records that attending Word Cups is an opportunity "connect the great passions" of his life: soccer and experiencing different cultures around the world. The superfan said he bought his own culture along with him to most of the tournaments by representing his carnival block, dubbed "Bloco Vai Quem Quer," or "Whoever wants can go." "A trait of Bloco Vai Quem Quer is that men dress up as women during the carnival period and parade in the streets. I try to take the culture from my city around the world," Sbruzzi said. He said the Qatar World Cup was the only tournament he attended without a female-inspired costume, due to the tournament's dress code. Sbruzzi said he is already planning to top his own record by attending the 2026 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States. "I feel how much I represent the fans' passion for World Cups, and I am proud to be Brazilian," Sbruzzi said.

A man was killed after being slashed by blade tied to a rooster in a cockfight in India, police said on Thursday. The incident draws attention to the controversial practice, which continues in the country on a large scale despite a ban. The victim, Saripalli Venkateswara Rao, 53, was holding the rooster at a death-match in the village of Pragadavaram last week when it tried to regain its freedom, lashing out at its owner. “Rao made efforts to hold on, but he got deep stab injuries from a small sharp knife attached to the rooster’s leg, which also slashed his main thigh vein, causing him to bleed profusely,” police officer M Snehita told DPA by phone Thursday. “He died on way to the hospital. Doctors said the incident shocked the man, causing a heart attack,” she added. The incident took place on January 15, but reports emerged in Indian media only later, causing regional police to intensify a crackdown on such events. “It’s a tragic incident, but ironic that the rooster bred to kill its opponent fowl and bring a bounty instead killed its owner. … The rooster has escaped, we couldn’t trace it,” police officer P Rajesh said. Even though India’s Supreme Court has put a ban on organizing or inciting animal fights, tens of millions of rupees exchange hands as cockfights continue in several of India’s southern regions particularly during Makar Sankranti, a Hindu harvest festival, celebrated in mid-January.

Manchester United icon Sir Alex Ferguson was convinced Cristiano Ronaldo’s return last summer would bring the glory days back to Old Trafford, according to reports. However, the Portugal international now faces the prospect of being frozen out by Erik ten Hag after his strop against Tottenham on Wednesday night. The 37-year-old was livid at being left on the bench and refused to come on when instructed to in the closing stages. And he has endured a difficult time at Old Trafford in the short period since, starting just two Premier League matches and netting twice across all competitions in the process. Ronaldo was left out of Ten Hag’s starting XI against Tottenham on Wednesday night and, when asked to come on late in the game, flatly refused. Now, according to The Athletic, Ferguson was convinced Ronaldo’s return from Juventus last summer would usher in another era of success. But Ferguson, along with the likes of Patrice Evra, Bruno Fernandes and Rio Ferdinand, helped persuade the forward into moving to United instead. He was a shining light last term, netting 24 goals across all competitions as the club toiled under both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick. Yet after requesting to leave United back in the summer transfer window, he’s been unable to recover.

In fact, most of Akihiko’s family boycotted his nuptials to Hatsune Miku – a young pop singer with large blue eyes and turquoise hair. But the bride probably didn’t mind as she only exists in the virtual world. “For mother, it wasn’t something to celebrate,” Akihiko told Japan Times. The ceremony – which cost him $18 000 (about R260 000) – was, however, attended by 40 other (real-life) guests. His talking, moving hologram girlfriend, whom he’s been living with for eight months, is contained in a glass box, Reuters reports. But on his big day Akihiko had a doll of her image made so he could exchange rings with his bride. The doll was dressed in a white wedding gown complete with veil, while the groom wore a white satin suit. His virtual wife wakes him up in the morning, says goodbye when he leaves for his job as a school administrator, and switches on the lights in the evenings when he sends her a cellphone message saying he’s on his way home. Akihiko says he realised at a young age a “crossdimensional” relationship was the ideal choice for him after he’d had a few nasty experiences with real girls. He says he’d been called an otaku – a derogatory Japanese term for geek – too many times. Though his mother is pushing him to find a flesh-and-blood wife, Akihiko says he’s blissfully happy with his 3D spouse. And why not? She’ll never cheat on him and never age or die, AFP reports. Though his marriage isn’t legally recognised, he does have a marriage certificate – issued by tech company Gatebox, Hatsune’s creators. The company has issued more than 3 700 of these certificates for crossdimensional weddings in Japan, where statistics show the number of unmarried men at age 50 has increased from one in 50 in 1980 to one in four today. Russia has unveiled the first image of its beast of a nuclear missile called the RS-28 Sarmat, also known as Satan-2. It is Russia’s new super-heavy thermonuclear-armed intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), which can wipe out parts of the earth the size of Texas and France, according to Russia’s Zvezda TV channel. The missile is capable of targeting major cities of the UK and other European nations. It has an estimated range of 10,000 kilometres. The missile has been designed with stealth technology, means that it can be fired at a target without being detected by enemy radars. It is expected to be an effective response to US missile defence deployments near Russia’s borders. Russia hopes that the new missile will deter US efforts to gain strategic superiority over it or launch a surprise attack. The Satan-2 has a top speed of 7 km per second. It is designed to be fitted with Project 4202, a Russian hypersonic glider warhead which can accelerate to speeds between Mach 7 and 12 — seven to 12 times higher than the speed of sound. If the missile is ever used in this platform, anti-missile defence shields will not stand a chance against it. The missile is expected to be an adequate response to US’s Prompt Global Strike, a Pentagon initiative meant to overcome an enemy’s strategic deterrent using massed launch of conventional cruise missiles, according to Sputnik.

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique could be forced to wear a kit with Shakira's name on it during a Barcelona game. Reports in Spain indicate that Shakira could be the next in line to benefit from Barcelona’s sponsorship with the music streaming platform, spotify. The Camp Nou outfit rocked the OVO owl logo on the front of their jersey for the crucial top-of-the-table game against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu last Sunday. OVO is a clothing brand owned by R&B idol Drake, after he recently made history by becoming the first artist to reach 50 billion streams on spotify. Per reports filed by journalist Moises Llorens, cited by Tribuna, a contract is close to being signed which will see Shakira feature on the Barcelona shirt. However, the LaLiga giants and Shakira are yet to pass comment on the potential deal. Pique and the popular singer announced their split in June 2020 after the 35-year-old Spanish defender was caught cheating on the pop singer. The former lovers dated for 11 years and produced two boys. The pair remain unmarried, though their 12-year relationship has brought them two children. However, in a viral video posted on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, Pique was seen by fans listening to 'Inevitable' on his car stereo.
