The Club is delighted to announce that Adam Johnson has joined us from Middlesbrough for an undisclosed fee after agreeing terms and passing a medical this afternoon.

The former England Under-21 winger, who has signed a contract until June 2014, steps straight into Roberto Mancini's squad against Hull on Saturday. He will wear the traditional No.11.

Johnson, who played 19 games for England Under-21s and scored four goals, has played 96 times for Boro, scoring 13 times and making a firm impression on the game's shrewdest judges.

He made his senior debut for Boro aged 17 in a UEFA Cup tie at Sporting Lisbon, playing his maiden Premier League match six months later in a 2-1 home win over Arsenal.

Loan spells of one month with Leeds in 2006 and three months the following year with Watford - where he scored five goals in 12 appearances - helped to speed up his development.

Manager Roberto Mancini said: "We are delighted that Adam has chosen to come here. He is a very good player with fantastic potential, and as a club we are always keen to sign British talent."

Still better than Kerisson, we all know why Yaya didn't play regularly before, it was because we had alot of options, but can the same be said of Kerrisson? anyways, if we need him, he's going to be summoned, if we needed him now, we wouldn't have paid alot to get Ibra.
We only have Busquest as the only option
Keita finds it hard to play the DM position
I never compared Kerrison to Yaya, i was just trying to make a point there
Pep paid alot to get Ibra because he does'nt want Eto anymore and he LIKES Ibra

ogazi007:
Khanye take am easy sha.i have spoken to ibra that you are very upset with him and he said i should beg you unbehalf of him.
he promise to score a hat trick in our next game against Getefe.ibeg no vex for boi.
i hope so undecided

honeric01:
Yes, he's a good player but can a good player be allowed to sit on the bench? if you are good, no one's going to bench you. and as for the inconsistent part, i was actually referring to Ibra.
Haba Honeric, so because he's not playing that well
that means he's not good
Yaya has not been playing regularly for us this season, does that mean is not a good player?

eyoniggar:
Make una cool down regarding Ibra.

Lets put Henry in as a simple example.

He came in the first season, he flopped without even
scoring up to what Ibra has scored in the beginning of the
season. Oh well we know they play
different positions, but we just have to wait till next season
and see what Ibra would do. Improve or flop, then we can make
our judgmental comments on him.
Abeg Eyo, there is no time
remember we paid a large sum of money for him with Eto
Henry case is different

ogazi007:
Why do we even need kerrison now?pep can relegate ibra to the bench for two matches and give bojan a chance or play henry in that position.
ibra is just too casual with the ball and is really killing me.a super sub wont be a bad idea, cos he had scores goal in every game he came in from the bench.

honeric01:
So why should we get a Kerrison that hardly play in Benfica back? well Ibra is just playing a frustrating kind of football, he's also not consistent and this is not good for a club like Barca.
If he's not playing, that does'nt mean is not a good player
remember we paid 16M(Euro) for him
If Kerrison is not consistent so Ibra is consistent abi undecided

Barcelona's Dani Alves Ruled Out Of Sporting De Gijon Match

Barcelona right-back Dani Alves, who has just signed a contract extension with the Catalan giants, has been ruled out of this weekend's match against Sporting de Gijon at El Molinon.

The Brazilian star's absence is due to a muscle injury in his right leg and tests were conducted on Thursday to judge the extent of the injury. The results showed there is not serious injury, according to AS.

However, Barca coach Pep Guardiola has decided not to force the mercurial Alves to play, thus leaving the right side of the Barca attack without their marauding defender.

Yeso 3points are highly needed to cause unavoidable panics in madrid camp, cos they are draping points this weekend.
sporting gijon are not push over though, they collected 6-1 in their home last season,i hope we can reduce it to 4 goals this time around.
i dont want us to be beating teams more than 4 goals again,we need their support and i beg on behalf of other teams we will be playing this season that 3-4 goals would just be enough.no more 5/6 goals.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Carling Cup Semi 2nd Leg: Man UTD Vs Man CITY [3 - 1] Wed, 27th January by khanye(op): 12:54am On Jan 27, 2010
Defending the League Cup may not have been at the very top of Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson’s list of priorities at the start of the season, although following last week’s narrow defeat to Manchester City in the semi-final first leg, getting to Wembley for the final will surely now take immediate precedence.

United fans will undoubtedly argue against the notion, but Carlos Tevez’s brace for the Citizens against his former employers last week went some way to demonstrating that Roberto Mancini’s side are capable of mixing it up with the Premier League’s established elite.

Since Mancini’s arrival, City have lost just once in seven games and are clearly serious contenders in the race to finish fourth in the Premier League. Mancini himself may have even higher expectations, although a place in next season’s Champions League will undoubtedly be seen as a success story in the eyes of Citizens’ supporters.

Ferguson’s United, meanwhile, comfortably dispatched of Hull City on the weekend to assume top spot in the title race. However, having already been dumped out of the FA Cup by Leeds United, defeat to City would be a bitter pill to swallow.

It’s one apiece in terms of meetings this season and while the outcome of Wednesday’s encounter may be difficult to predict, one thing for sure is that Manchester’s cross-city rivalry is well and truly alive and kicking once again.
