Is blocking a possibility here? Pls teach me how, master
My brother, block or no block. He meant to say that you can simply ignore any post from a moniker without appearing to be too critical.
Many come here to learn, unlearn, and re-learn stuff. They don't have to agree with every opinion put out here.

Nothing wrong in quoting oneself to drive home a point. Yes, some views from chief bassdow sometimes tends to be too subjective and extreme to me. However, if you are observant, you will note that he is quite consistent overtime and undeniably knowledgeable in this field.
Car TalkRe: Why A Nigerian Professor Would Not Be Able To Afford A Car by Khariza:
Tendd:
In some countries professors or well educated people walk, drive bicycles or take public transports to work.On their free time, they walk or jog. There are too many vehicles on our roads.People must learn to walk than take cars at every outing.
But in our country today, fraudsters and even amateur yahoo boys are driving expensive cars at every outing.
Why then should well educated guys and professors ride bicycles, or come and be walking and jogging??
Please uncle, don't insist that their reward is still somewhere in heaven o grin.

No professor in Nigeria is earning up to 800K basic salary a month! If you have one drop the institution, we will tell you what they earn there.
Do you mean only professors in government owned tertiary institutions? I'm just curious.

PoliticsRe: Judges Must Have Homes To Retire To - Wike by Khariza: 5:45am On Dec 12, 2024
huhWike how about teachers, nurses, security personnels amongs others also having homes to retire to?
Many of these your Judges are already landlords, some even have commercial and residential properties with tenants. Yet you misappropriate public funds with such arrogance.

Wike Mr Overdo, sometimes you just talk too much and overdo like the funds are from your personal pocket.

Just like the Nigerian Senate has failed also.
PoliticsRe: Abaribe: Nigeria Would Have Been Better Under Peter Obi by Khariza:
Senator Abaribe does not need to waste his time trying the convince those who think otherwise.

All man for himself.

As far as I'm concerned, let everyone in support of this government keep enjoying or enduring the present situation with their families, while Tinubu keeps renewing their hope till 2027 or even 2031.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria’s External Debt May Hit $45bn Before January by Khariza:
Tinubu's agenda from the onset was 'Renewed Hope', nothing more.
Nigerians have been hopeful of a better country even before our nation's independence. Tinubu's agenda was only to renew that hope.
Everyone was hopeful that after Buhari had dragged the country backwards over 8 years, a leader will emerge to better the lot of ordinary Nigerians.
Tinubu comes forth, promises to continue from where Buhari stopped, thereby renewing our hopes afresh, and in spite of all odds, he emerges president. Yet, we claim to be disappointed in him.
To be fair to Tinubu, he is only doing exactly what he promised everyone, regardless if you voted him or not.

Back in the good old days my dad and mum used to do their own throwback with memories of old departmental store brands like, Kingsway stores, UTC stores, Domino stores, Leventis stores, etc.

Let me stop here. Nostalgia has taken over my entire mind.
PoliticsRe: Why Does Gen Babaginda Stays Indoor? by Khariza:
aviona:
Aside being a former 'military president', he has always been a very reserved, and private person. I watched him in an interview sometimes ago with Trust Tv at his residence in Minna, where he was asked a similar question.
He calmly responded, informing the interviewer, that this has always been his lifestyle even before and after his military career, that put him in such limelight in the past.

To answer your question directly, IBB has always been a very smart, intelligent and rather introverted individual, who talks less, comfortable being alone or with very few close friends, his four children and grand children. Before and after the death of his only wife, Maryam in December 2009, he has always been reserved.
Since August 1993, when he was just 52 years old, and handed over power to late Chief Ernest Shonekan, he has never intentionally put himself or his family in limelight within or outside Nigeria. So, unlike some other past leaders, that like to be always talked about, seen, and heard; IBB at age 83 years today - any supposed illness due to age, has nothing to do with his respected and reserved lifestyle.
I watched that very interview also, since then, I just respect Ibrahim Babangida so much more.
Mind you, he is human and not a saint. A number of wrongs can be traced to him.
Nonetheless, the way he gesticulates calmly when talking and the gap between his teeth, reminds me of my late father and makes me smile.
He practically implemented the plan of Abuja, the beautiful nation's capital, after the Military Government of Murtala Mohammed took the decision to relocate the Federal Capital from Lagos, and IBB finally moved the seat of power from Dodan Barracks to Aso Villa in 1991.

PoliticsRe: Hardship: No Plans To Join Nationwide Protests For August 1 – TUC (Video) by Khariza:
Of course, we don't expect this useless congress to be part of the protest. This is not a planned strike action, where as usual, the government invites and 'settles' decision makers of the congress behind the scenes. Next thing you will hear the strike is called off.
TUC and NLC are birds of the same feather, and part of the reason we are where we find ourselves today.
PoliticsRe: Investment In Dangote Didn’t Align With Our Strategic Goals – NNPC by Khariza:
The question then is.... what are the company’s so-called strategic goals that suddenly is not in alignment with their initial investment decision on such huge funds??
It's either this drama was agreed and planned from the onset, between Dangote as a business, and upper echelons of the NNPC based on vested/personal interests, or that President Tinubu's government does not align with the earlier arrangement by Buhari's team.

PoliticsRe: 60% Of Metered Customers Bypass Meters, Says TCN by Khariza:
Quite true. However, it can't be up to 60%.

There are some coded electricians that can alter the operations of some of those meters. However, they would not do it for every and anybody. It's highly coded.
I know someone in particular, morning and night his air conditioning units are always on. In fact, most times even with no one at home, once there's power from the grid, you will hear both outer units working full blast.

The supposed husband is terribly sick and was brought to Nigeria, so why focusing on getting the US Spousal Visa on her own at this point?

Except they don't get to know of his condition and whereabout, otherwise she will be denied the visa once again.
