Having compared Strong SRT 4950h and SRT 4922A, I have personally come to the conclusion that SRT 4950h is far ahead of 4922A once you know how to operate it. This is to put to rest about salient point of which is better. SRT 4950 series are awesome machines with twin tuners.

Although this channel has signal issues but few hours while on has great impact on the fta family.Now showing animals in pictures close to HD!

My fellow Nlers, pls i need ur urgent assistance, in the process of upgrading srt 4950H somebody closed 2 me just mistakenly shook the power cord and its got 'fried' ever since i ve been trying to wake it up but upon all the software i used the Rx kept popping with this ' cann't find rom.bin'. Pls all gurus with idea should help, though i knew i'm posting on the wrong thread.

Hallo, for strong 4950M,

Save software under USB(empty) flash drive and rename it as “rom.bin” Insert the USB into receiver. Switch main power ON while pressing several times (2 or 3 times while main power is inserted) the “Power” key on remote control. Receiver will auto detect the software and download it. Report back if successful.

Please use the official strong software after the receiver is back to life you can patch it with your preferred software.
I have never tried it but some forum members successfully resurrected their srt4950 receivers.

If you are not interested with the additional USB ports it is better to keep the old SRT4922.The new box use the same software as SRT4922 so no additional features in terms of functionality.

Today I was re-tracking Arabsat 5c to my surprise the signal on Aljazeera tp was unstable and max 70%.The IRIB tp also was fluctuating.To my surprise the Saudi tp was stable up to 80% and even the weakest tp 3796H1850, hosting ESTV, on this satellite is green.My advise, while tracking use as many tps as possible I did not expect anytime the signal on Aljazeera to drop so significantly.The dish size is 1.8m pf.
Those using smaller dishes are you still getting IRIB now?

Can someone help me solve my challenge? AIT on satellite is not showing again. I use almost 3hours tracking it on Saturday but not coming up. Please my brothers in the house, what could be the problem? Am living in Abeokuta. Thanks as i await ur solutions.

For the past 2 days the signal level on Amos5 dropped significantly making some tp even red.Now the signal is back to normal and all tp are active.If you still have problems check your setup and if necessary realign your antenna.
