At Idumota, Eyi Eyo, Lagos Island, Lagos State, a disturbing and long-running criminal operation continues to prey on unsuspecting members of the public. Fraudsters roam the area, randomly distributing cards and inviting people to pick their desired number, falsely promising that they stand a chance of winning valuable prizes such as gadgets, electronics, or home appliances.
Once a victim is lured in and convinced they have won, the scammers demand payment before the supposed prize can be claimed — sometimes as little as ₦500 or ₦1,000, and in more extreme cases, pressuring the victim to hand over everything in their possession, including their phones and all the cash they are carrying.
What follows is even more alarming. Once the victim has surrendered their belongings, a group of men closes in and physically assaults them — slapping, beating, and violently chasing them away. The victim is left with nothing, having been both robbed and brutalized.
What makes this situation even more heartbreaking is that these crimes occur openly, in full view of market traders and passersby, yet no one intervenes. These criminals have operated this way for over ten years, and still, no meaningful action has been taken to bring them to justice.
We appeal, with deep urgency and sincerity, to the relevant government authorities and law enforcement agencies to take immediate and decisive action against these criminals. The people of this community deserve to feel safe. This injustice has gone on long enough — it must be brought to an end.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

I will buy street food 300naira in the morning rice 200naira and 100naira meat
I will drink garri in the afternoon without sugar
Then peel sweet potatoes to boil in the night and eat with the either palm oil or groundnut oil
If i cannot finish the quantity of sweet potatoes i peeled to cook in the night I will keep till another day then buy beans 200naira plantain 100naira or i repeat the process if the sweet potatoes does not remain,so let me tell you my brother if i have that 300k you have i will survive many months doing nothing
I only got to eat mouthwateri food only if i help people to repair their phones cus am an expertise in repairing phones or other gadgets
