In the real sense of it Ikwerre is not the most populated ethnic group in Rivers State cause they are at par with Kalabari and Ogoni. The reason Ikwerre is claiming the overwhelming majority is the Port-Harcourt metropolis which has even more inland Igbos than native Ikwerre as well as large population of Kalabari, Bayelsa, Akwaibom and other Nigerians. Port-Harcourt metropolis covers OBALGA and PHALGA. Even KELGA has a reasonable population of non-indigenes compared with Ogoni and Kalabari areas. The Kalabari and Ogoni areas comprise up to 90% indigenous people unlike Ikwerre area.

Therefore an Ikwerre winning election based on upland needs others especially Igbo, Etche, Ogba and Ogoni. No tribe in Rivers State can do it all alone

That s not true. From Obio Akpor to PH City are dominated by visitors to 70/80%. Only Emohua and Ikwerre LGA have Ikwerre majorly like 70%. Meanwhile how many people are living there.

E don do the Riverine voom na anya. They allowed emotions becloud their sense of reasoning by installing Wike as the governor. The blood of mostly Riverine was used to install Wike as governor and interestingly the Riverine willfully gave this blood even against their own; Dakuku. Power has come to stay with Ikwerre, being the most popular ethnic group in Rivers State, they can dispense it the way they want. Although Amechi may have his selfish reason to want a riverine as a governor (who doesn't), the riverine stabbed themselves when they allowed and worked for another Ikwerre to succeed Amaechi.
Patience who spear headed this in the belief that Senator Sekibo would step in after Wike must have been used to wrestle power from Amaechi obviously saw the mistake when her husband was not reelected. There is now this disquiet within the riverine group having realised their error but it seems they will repeat it once again.

Amaechi is correct. But his main problem is tact. Technically, Ikwerre should not have collected it in 2015. But how and why do you think PEJ backed Wike ? Amaechi has an outstanding ability to make himself so disliked. It's crazy.

Even the riverine chiefs were irritated enough to play along with the Wike theme. Same Amaechi still wants to come and lock obio/akpor LGA's clincher votes after talking up and down. At Eneka, a few weeks ago,he said "let's win OBALGA first." So he still wants their votes while positioning them as antagonists set out to dominate the state. Does he think we are blind?

Humans are emotional and read into personal Interest before practical truths. If anything, Amaechi is making it easier for PDP to take the million votes of OBALGA and PHALGA come 2023, regardless of whether it's an Ikwerre man or not.

He is relying too much on federal power, which most ppl have come to see that he doesn't have. Buhari is not OBJ or GEJ. Ur wahala is ur wahala. Plus the aso rock ppl are not opposed to dealing with wike. 2019 proved this.

Amaechi should learn work well and come back in 2023 prepared to win. Not shoot himself in the foot.
