NPower: Batches C1 & C2 Enrollees Lament Delay In Their Stipend's Payment.
Some enrollees of the Federal Government's N-Power Programme on Monday decried the continuous delay of payment of their N30,000 monthly stipends.
Mr Francisco Noah, a beneficiary of the N-Teach segment of Batch C1, who teaches at a Nomadic School in Keffi, Nasarawa State said, the delay had forced him to stop attending to pupils in the school.
He said the condition was critical for him because sometimes transportation fee was a bit difficult for him to go to the Nomadic School. Noah who expressed dismay over the delay said the last time he received his stipend was in November 2022.
”Ours is a two year programme which we started around January 2021 and to end this December.. ”But since we started, I was only paid for 12 months and the last money I received was in November 2022,“he said.
Mr Usman Dantala, a beneficiary of Batch C2 in the Agro segment of the said he is owed nine months with several promises of payment. Dantala, who was enrolled into the programme in October 2022, said he was only paid for three months since the beginning of his participation in the programme.
Reacting to the development, the National Programme Manager, N-Power Scheme Dr Akindele Egbuwalo, earlier in a statement assured the beneficiaries of their readiness to settle all outstanding claims.
Egbuwalo who earlier announced a temporary suspension of the programme, said the government would only pay those with genuine claims!
“We appeal to Nigerians to understand the rationale behind the temporary suspension and investigation of the scheme as we work to restore the nation’s confidence in it, “he said.

N-Power: FG announces date for payment of nine months backlog allowance. The federal government said it would commence payment of the 9-month backlog to all N-Power beneficiaries in November. This was disclosed by the national programme manager of N-Power, Akindele Egbuwalo on Monday afternoon.
Egbuwalo, while stating that funds have been recovered from the existing payment service providers, noted that the payment would be done in installments, while encouraging all beneficiaries to be patient!

The Federal Government has announced the indefinite suspension of the N-Power program.
Betta Edu, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, made the announcement while featuring on a TVC news program on Saturday, October 7, 2023.
She said the decision was birthed by some irregularities within the scheme, noting that the government has launched investigation into the utilization of funds since the program began.
The Minister claimed that some of the beneficiaries are not found in their place of assignments yet they expect monthly stipends.
According to her, some of the beneficiaries ought to have exited the program since 2022 but are still on the payroll.
She said, "We must go back to look into N-Power and understand what the problems are so we will basically suspend the programe for now until we are done with proper investigation into the utilization of fund into the N-Power program.
We want to know how many persons are basically on the program right now, how many persons are owed, amount they are owed. We are totally restructuring the N-Power and expanding it.
"There are lots going on. We met people who are supposed to have exited the program since last year and they are still on claiming that they are still teaching.
"Sometimes we contact the school or the places where they are working and they are not there.
They are not working yet they keep claiming that they are being owed eight or nine months stipends. About 80 percent of them are not working yet they are claiming salaries"

No recruitment process has commenced yet for N-power, disregard any portal or website saying otherwise. Humanitarian ministry is working on solving the issues of backlog payments. After these issues are resolved, the federal government will relaunch the programme so it can accommodate more Nigerians. Meanwhile, all failed payments would be re-initiated duly. ~The Humanitarin affairs and Poverty allegation ministry under @edu_betta will address poverty with job creation, get cash transfer across to poor Nigerians, engage the nutrition department , support micro small and medium enterprise, provide stimulus to their business etc.

Dr Betta Edu has promised to reduce and curtail humanitarian crisis in Nigeria, manage and respond to the crisis on time and permanently remove the poorest of the poor from humanitarian crisis.

~Nigerians should be rest assured that all existing empowerments within the National Investment Programme will be rejigged, made more effective and to cover more Nigerians.

~President Bola Tinubu @officialABAT has a huge economic plans for Nigeria; some are short term goals which the ministry will soon implement and some are long term goals, Nigerians should trust the process.

~In order to ensure effective disbursement of palitives; Independent monitors will be brought on board to guarantee the relief materials satisfactory reach.

This palitive tracking will be done technologically as to digitally attest to the time, location, household, individual delivered to, etc.

We will change the modalities so that people will get their delayed stipends, include more people and relaunch it with a renewed hope concept.

The hubs will accommodate home grown commodities, which will be sold at cheaper rates to Nigerians.
