QuinModah: Interesting list, but the Global Peace Index doesn’t always reflect people’s day-to-day realities. Safety isn’t just about peace—it's also about infrastructure, healthcare, political stability, and how the police and justice systems function. Countries like Rwanda and Seychelles often rank high in safety for residents and tourists, yet they’re missing here. It's worth looking at a broader set of indicators beyond just the GPI score. Nope.. Safety is about safety... There are countries with bad infrastructure, but are nonetheless safe |

Waiting! Listen here, we aren't idio+.s our neighbours are Namibia and Botswana, two of Africa's most peaceful countries, so how can we claim to be more peaceful than them? Looks to me you're just fishing for a response |

It was Mozambicans that mudered him! Good to finally know about it, because i was hearing it was nigerians or south-africans.
As a big influencer that lucky dube is, i was worried as to why he was being killed. In 2010, i was quite young to know about the events that led to his death.
I appreciate so much. Have a wonderful and splendid evening ahead. Thank you |

aylipple: Once upon a time in Nigeria, the slogan was "Ghana Must Go!" There was no social media, no internet and no mass citizen journalism like we've today.
Now, the tables have turned and the slogan in Ghana now is "Nigerians Must Go!"
They're complaining about us in South Africa, Dubai, India, Malaysia, Vietnam and now Ghana; how do we go to other countries and instead of overwhelmingly contributing positively to those countries, some few elements among us engage in widespread crime (cult fights, illicit drug dealings, prostitution, cybercrime etc)?
While the Ghanaians in this particular instance are right to protect their country from a looming epidemic brought about by some criminal minded Nigerians in their midst, they should be careful not to also taint the image of hardworking, honest and diligent Nigerians. An honest Nigerian didn't think they existed |

SuperEagles: Shut your mouth. Are those in SA Kenya Malaysia India Singapore also jealous on you ?! Good question.. The tiny island of Seychelles completely banned Nigerians. Why? Of course, Nigerians will always hide behind excuses like "they're jealous of us," they're "xenophobic," it's because we're hardworking," blah blah.. all these countries can't be wrong, my friend.. Nigerians often fail to take responsibility for their actions; it's always someone else's fault, and they're always victims. Besides, what is there to be "jealous" of? |

Fujiyama: ^^^ Not really.
On a per capita basis, these 'achievements' rank low, very low indeed.
^^^ Pedantic? No.
I just tell it like it is.
^^^ It is a case of seeking to denigrate others. Multiple threads on this very platform prove this point.
From way, way back, Nigeria got used to describing her continental neighbours (near and far) with thinly disguised contempt. A good example of this is the constant reference (by Nigerians) to "all these small, small African countries". There are more examples of speech like this and it isn't friendly banter or friendly rivalry.
^^^ You are taking this very personal.
While some may have positive things to say about Nigerians...a large number do not. The anti-Nigeria sentiment is rising. In some of these countries with a large Nigerian immigrant population, there have been anti-Nigeria protests and demonstrations. Have there been any pro-Nigeria demonstrations? Thank you.. A lady from Ghana was saying the same thing on a video, and insults from Nigerians came flooding in |

ZoomTravels: Where did I ever say anything about allowing Nigerians in? You are arguing with yourself at this point. Because I literally just stated two consecutive times that South Africa should institute a Nigerian ban, so what exactly is your argument here? Because we have seen your country men defend their own when it comes to crimes and literally blame it on foreigners (like the woman who sold her own child, claiming Nigerians kidnapped her). So why don’t we as citizens deviate from throwing stones at each other and give each other space? Hope this helps out with any imaginary argument you are having with yourself. There are millions of Nigerians who will as things stand today support an FG restrictions of travel to SA. You keep on saying " we act as if our country is the safest in Africa"? So what must we do? Genuinely asking.. |

Silence in the face of violence is complicity, not wisdom. But South Africans making their country seem like the safest in Africa is just a joke. The US, with all its gun violence won't allow half of the nonsense we allow in Sa . And nobody said SA was the safest country boss.. that doesn't mean, that an Adewale from Kaduma can come here and do as he please.. it doesn't work that way.. even war torn countries have laws |

WriterX: It’s misleading to say “nobody’s attacking your people.” South Africa has a long, documented history of xenophobic attacks—especially targeting Nigerians. In 2008, over 60 people were killed in anti-immigrant riots. In 2015, seven more died in similar violence. These are facts, not speculation.
In 2019, shops owned by Nigerians were looted in Johannesburg, and in some cases, Nigerians were beaten or burned alive. Groups like Operation Dudula have publicly campaigned to remove foreigners, often violently, while police have been accused of either watching or participating in these abuses.
Human Rights Watch and other international bodies have published reports confirming these patterns of violence and systemic discrimination. This is not just fear—it’s reality.
Saying South Africans “avoid the CBD because of foreigners” only proves the atmosphere of tension and scapegoating. Nigerians don’t feel safe in many areas because past attacks have gone unpunished, and early warning systems agreed between both governments have failed.
This isn’t about “feeling outnumbered”—it’s about actual bloodshed and intimidation that authorities have failed to stop. These aren't rumors.
They're recorded events backed by deaths, arrests, and global concern. Ignoring them is part of the problem. So no, I won't stop the cap! Lets talk Facts Since you know better than me, while you're over there, and I'm here. There's really no point arguing.. keep believing your people are being persecuted |

WriterX: This is quite painful.
How mny more Nigerians have to die on South African soil before someone calls this what it really is? How long can we pretend this is a string of isolated incidents and ot part of a systemic failure—or worse, a coordinated silence around the brutalization of Africans by Africans?
It’s not enough for South African police to “launch investigations” after the fact. The bigger question is: Where are they when the violence starts? Why do these so-called investigations always begin after a Nigerian is lynched, shot, or mysteriously disappears? Who exactly are they protecting—citizens or syndicates?
Over the years, South Africa has built a dangerous reputation. Nigerians, Zimbabweans, Mozambicans—many of them legal immigrants—have been attacked in broad daylight. Their shopsburned. Their lives threatened. Their dignit stripped. And in many of these instances, police are either suspiciously absent, slow to act, or accused of outright complicity.
Let’s talk about the “early warning mechanisms” that were agreed upon between Nigeria and South Africa after previous waves of xenophobic attacks.
What happened to those? Why haven’t they been implemented? Why does it seem like each agreement is just a PR stunt to pacify outrage until the next tragedy hits?
If South Africa has committed to protecting immigrants, why does the violence continue—and escalate? Is thisd a failure of law enforcement, or an intentional blind eye? Are elements within the police force silently backing the mobs? Worse stil are there criminal syndicaates that have infiltrated state structures, targeting immigrants under the pretense of “Drug crackdowns” or “anti-crime operations”?
These questions aren't conspiratorial—they're grounded in years of patterns. Patterns where Nigerian-owned businesses are looted. Patterns where unprovoked attacks on foreigners are shrugged off as “community anger.” Patterns where state silence is louder than any condemnation.
The Nigerian government, through NIDCOM and the Ministry of Foreignm Affairs, has offered condolences and called for calm. But condolences don’t bring justice. Condolences don’t deter the next attack. If South Africa wants to claim any moral credibility, then its institutions—especially its police—must show they are not part of the problem. Bruv stop the cap.. nobody's attacking your people here.. I'm telling you right now, a lot of South Africans even avoid Johannesburg CBD because we feel outnumbered by foreigners there... you sit there in Kaduna and point fingers, speculate on things you have no clue of |

Lorayne: Obviously none. You don't need outsiders to add to your problems.
I don’t know much about what’s going on in South Africa, but I’m hoping you can help clarify something for me.
When it comes to crimes committed by immigrants in South Africa, is it true that Nigerians are responsible for the most? Are there actually more Nigerians involved in illegal activities than those doing positive things?
I understand that people often get judged by the bad things others in their community do, rather than the good, but do you honestly believe that most Nigerians living in South Africa are involved in crime?
I’m asking out of genuine curiosity and have no other motive. Please feel free to ignore this if it’s something you’d prefer not to respond to. Um. No... Nigerians are mostly into drug dealing, human trafficking, and scams...and lately I often hear a lot about ritualist stories involving Nigerians.. Zimbabweans, sighs...they're a thorn...they're involved in carjackings, robberies, bombing of ATMs, murders, rapes, vandalism of infrastructure, etc you name it.. Mozambicans steal cars cross them across the border.. they rape, they muder.. etc.. Somalians are a growing problem as well.. The Congolese, Ghanaians, Zambians etc ..tend to be peaceful ones. And I'm most saying South africans are saints here, we make the bulk of criminals because it's our country , but there's significant chaos brought upon by illegal immigration in South Africa, to an extent that some of our prisons have more foreigners than locals.. but outsiders looking in call everything Xenophobia |
