This is what happened to native Brazilians when Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama first landed there. Today modern Brazil is a mix of colonizers (from Portugal), natives (native Brazilians eg. Amerindians ie Guarani), and slave descendants (Africans) not different from South Africa or Bolivia, Venezuela, Australia etc, etc
