No, Other files and folder can be colocated, it will not alter the update process. However, confirm that the downloaded ROM is in the root of the SD card, i.e not in any folder.

it is not in any folder. While d phone was still working, I once tried to upgrade it. D same error respond is wat is giving me nw.....

While in recovery mode, select 'format cache' first before applying update from SD card.
