Getting a good NYSC placement is part of the basic concerns of any fresh university graduate. Part of the information required from you is to provide four states of your choice from the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria where you will like to do your NYSC. There are a number of factors to consider when seeking for a favorable youth service location. These factors include; Cost of living Accommodation Job opportunities available State salary plan Distance to home state Security Standard of living Apart from the sum of 19,800 which the federal government pays to serving corpers, State governments also pay a stipend to serving corpers posted to their states. The prayer of every Nigerian Corper is to be posted to the best and least expensive state. With knowledge of these concerns, I made some research and put together a list of the best states to undertake your NYSC program and how much these states pay. 1. LAGOS STATE The almighty Lagos. Lagos state is the most popular mega city in Nigeria. For this reason, serving in Lagos isn’t so cheap. Asides that, there are many engagements and activities in Lagos state. Many of the factors that come into play in Lagos are transportation cost, high and dense traffic, cost of living. Apart from all these, Lagos state offers the highest number of job opportunities than any other state in Nigeria. This is the reason why most corpers are usually happy when they are posted to Lagos State. It is also relatively safe without any major security concerns. It is regarded by corpers as the best state to be posted to in Nigeria. Lagos state pays about ₦10,000 to ₦15,000 to corpers in the ministries while it pays ₦5,000 to those in the LGA. In total, a corper earns about ₦25,000 to ₦30,000 monthly. 2. FCT ABUJA Want to have a taste of the country’s money? Abuja is the place. Abuja has the highest cost of living in the country. From transportation to housing and high competition for job opportunities, Abuja can be a bit tiring and expensive (NO GO DEY DO PASS YOURSELF). No matter how easy interview questions may seem or sound, people usually tend to get it wrong most times in their manner of approach and reply to these questions. This has caused a lot of people their dream jobs in some cases. In other cases, overconfidence and timidity has also been detrimental to some people. Those are some things you must avoid if you want to get that dream job you so desire. Your composure, fluency, approach and reply to questions really matter a lot. People need to learn to see interviews as a conversation between you and your employer-to-be. Having this in mind helps calm your nerves. So you must prepare in advance and memories your answers so as not to stutter or think too far off point. Also, proper preparation makes you feel more at ease and more confident! Here are some frequently asked interview questions and how to properly tackle them; 1. TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF This is one of the first questions asked during a job interview and entails talking about yourself. Who you are, Where you’re from, your education history, your personal interests which may not be directly related to work, your hobbies, brief recall of your childhood, where you grew up and your personality so as to make the interview a bit interesting, talk about your future ambitions and goals too. This is the ‘present past future’ formula. But be careful not to say too much about yourself. Make your answers short, simple and sweet so you do not seem like a talkative. 2. TELL US ABOUT YOUR PREVIOUS JOB AND WHY YOU LEFT When asked this particular question, it is important to give an answer with an impression that you’re motivated to move to new and better opportunities. If you left your previous job on very bad circumstances, it’s important to avoid speaking against your current/previous organization because an employer will likely not bring someone who speaks negatively about their previous job. Be direct and factual. Simple and direct! 3. TELL US ABOUT YOUR STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES When asked questions like this, you must talk about attributes that that relate to the job in question. When talking about your strengths, it is also a plus if you give Continue reading https://myinformationdesk.com/top-interview-questions-and-how-to-answer-them/ |
