I asked myself same question until I found myself in those areas. Between August and September is when the Hippos there nurse their youngs and you have overflowing river banks.
You could walk for hours partly submerged in swamp. Hippos leave river banks to farms and swamps until the overflow recedes. This is how you have beef with Hippos.

I can relate... The last time I was in Kebbi state, i used the waterways frequently, travelling between 3 local government areas and canoeing to and fro Niger state. It was then the reality NAT GEO hit me. I met fishermen from Yauri and Shanga who lacked limbs due to Hippo attacks. If you see the manpower needed to kill a Hippo compared to how effortlessly these Hippos chew off human limbs ehh you'll know that Nursery rhyme about Hippos was a setup.

Even Ikogosi and countless other natural water springs packaged for consumption are regulated and standardized. If your water can heal, fine. Show NAFDAC how you pack it and proof it doesn't compromise human health then proceed to ICCPC and prove the spirituality of your product and it's benefits over every other product out there..
