A three-month-old baby has allegedly been stolen by an unknown woman during a church service at St. Theresa’s Church, Anyiin, Logo Local Government Area of Benue State. It was gathered from sources that the incident took place during the church service, when an unknown woman, who stood at the entrance of the church, approached the mother of the stolen baby, one Mrs. Mbatumun Oseh, and offered to help her hold the baby to avoid being pushed down by other members of the church. According to our source, Mrs. Owen obliged her and thereafter, the strange woman also offered to sit at the back seat with the baby to avoid distracting members, while the baby’s mother sat in front. Mrs. Oseh, however, detailed one of her children to sit close to the woman, while the service went on. However, the woman sent the older child to a nearby shop to buy her sachet (pure) water, but before the girl came back, the woman had disappeared with the baby. The little girl raised alarm that attracted church members, who searched the entire premises, but thebaby and the woman could not be found. Commenting on the incident, the parish priest of the church, Rev. Fr. Bernard Achuku, said the entire parishioners were shocked by the incident, adding that efforts were onto locate the woman and the missingbaby. The matter was said to have been reported to the police at Ayiin and Ugba, the local government headquarters. |

Villas-Boas, who was sacked by Chelsea in March after less than a season at Stamford Bridge, has signed a three-year contract and replaces Harry Redknapp, who was dismissed by Tottenham in June. Villas-Boas said: "Tottenham Hotspur is a great club with a strong tradition andfantastic support, both at home and throughout the world. I feel privileged to be its coach. For me, this is one of the most exciting coaching positions in the Premier League. "I have had several discussions with thechairman and the board and I share their vision for the future progress of the club. This is a squad any coach would love to work with and together Ibelieve we can bring success in the seasons ahead." Spurs also considered former France coach Laurent Blanc and Schalke 04 boss Ralf Rangnick, while Everton manager David Moyes had been a serious contender before chairman Daniel Levy cooled his interest. Villas-Boas, 34, will be charged with creating a young Spurs side that can challenge for a place in the top four of the Premier League and qualification for the Champions League. The Portuguese was hugely successful at Porto prior to his move to Chelsea, winning the Primeira Liga, Portuguese Cup and the Europa League in his one season in charge at Estadio do Dragao. Commenting on the new appointment, Levy told Tottenham's official website:"I am delighted that Andre has agreed to become our new head coach. He has an outstanding reputation for his technical knowledge of the game and for creating well-organised teams capable of playing football in an attractive and attacking style. "Andre shares our long-term ambitions and ethos of developing players and nurturing young talent, and he will be able to do so now at a new world class training centre. "We are constantly looking to move theclub forward. It is important that we now look to develop the potential within the squads at all levels, whilst strengthening the first team in the summer in key positions with players who will become part of the future success of the club." Villas-Boas will be joined by fitness coach Jose Mario Rocha and Daniel Sousa, head of opposition scouting, at White Hart Lane. |
Former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has been appointed new manager of Tottenham Hotspur, three weeks after Harry Redknapp was sacked. Villas-Boas, 34, returns to football on a three-year contract less than four monthsafter his dismissal at Chelsea. Former France coach Laurent Blanc, Wigan's Roberto Martinez, Fabio Capello and former Spurs striker Jurgen Klinsmann were linked with the post. But Tottenham have opted for ex-Porto boss Villas-Boas to replace Redknapp. |

(1)And seeing the multitudes, corruption went up into Aso Rock; and when he wasset, the politicians came unto him: (2) And he opened his mouth, and taughtthem, saying: (3) Blessed are the clueless in wisdom; fortheirs is the Presidency of the nation. (4) Blessed are they that rig elections, for they shall be elected. (5) Blessed are the thieves; for they shall inherit the National Assembly. (6) Blessed are they which do hunger andthirst after public funds; for their accounts shall be filled. (7) Blessed are the bribe-takers, for they shall obtain bigger bribes. ( Blessed are the Petroleum Ministers, for they shall loot trillions.(9) Blessed are the bootlickers, for they shall be called the Federal Executhief Council. (10) Blessed are they which areprosecuted for corruption's sake; for theirs is the kingdom of wealth. (11) Blessed are ye, when EFCC shall inviteyou, and interrogate you, and bring all manner of charges against you, for my sake. (12) Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad; for fat are your accounts in Swiss banks; for so they prosecuted the politicians which were before you. (13) Ye are the thieves of the nation; but if the thief have lost his craftiness, wherewith shall he be looting? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be charged to court, andbe sentenced to prison. (14) Ye are the liars of the nation, a lie that is carefully thought-out cannot be found out. (15) Neither do politicians cook a big lie, and serve it to Sahara Reporters , but to NTA; and it gives false hope unto all that watch the 9pm news. (16) Let your gowns so flow before men, that they may see your big loots, and glorify yourfather which is in Ota. (17) Think not that I am come to arrest the fuel marketers (18) For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one naira or one kobo shall not be left in the Federation account |
