that was what our beloved Dora was championing for those good old days

But I think the locals too should step up their game too to be able to serve as a suitable replacement because without suitable replacement then we'll be forced to go back to the importation

He said he had lost confidence in the capacity of the PDP to provide opportunity for him to continue to play the politics of principles and values he believes in.

Take it or leave it but this man still remains one of the finest politicians Nigeria have produced in recent years. Most of us will ever be grateful to him and his colleagues in the Senate during his time as Senate president for stopping that bill on the elongation of tenure for the President.. If not for them who knows where our democracy would have been at this point in time..

PoliticsNnamani Quits PDP by kingphilip(op): 3:41am On Feb 07, 2016
A further depletion of the ranks of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came yesterday, as a former senate president, Senator Ken Nnamani, announced his resignation from the
party.

Nnamani, a member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the party, also declared that he was momentarily quitting partisan politics. He didn’t indicate when he would return to active politics and which party to join. In a letter entitled: ‘PDP, the Burden and My Conscience,’ Nnamani said he took the decision after all efforts to refocus and rebuild the party had proved abortive, blaming some elements in the opposition party for its dwindling fortune.

Nnamani is a member of the Leaders and Elders Committee of PDP which has been churning out recommendations on how to reorganize and reform the party. He was tipped to
emerge as the next BoT Chairman by most members of the committee.

His letter read: “Without any iota of bitterness in my heart, I have decided to disengage from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and consequently step aside from
partisan politics in the interim.”

The former senate president who is popularly remembered for presiding over the senate that killed the tenure elongation, also known as third term clause, said he would remain grateful to PDP. His words: “I wish to express my profound gratitude to the party that gave me the platform with which I attained the height I did in the politics of our
country. How I wish the efforts I mounted with some of my colleagues (many of whom have left the party) to keep the PDP on the path of its noble vision and values had been
supported by those who were privileged to be at the helm of affairs of the party, it would have been a different day for the PDP. It would have been a day of victory and pride not of defeat and shame.”
“I recall that the virus of corruption of values and mission was what those of my colleagues and I set out to cure through the formation of the PDP Reform Forum in 2010/11. We worked hard to draw up a new direction for
the party. This was to help steer the party away from illegality and impropriety so that PDP can fulfill its promise of being a vanguard of Nigeria’s political and economic development. A direction defined by strict adherence to basic rules and morality in the management of party affairs. Chief of these values is respect for choice of party members in electing party candidates for elections. With more than half a decade of championing such a fundamental but simple idea, I regret that the PDP leadership continues to rebuff internal democracy. “

According to him, “PDP allowed itself to be blinded by hubris to believe that it will remain in power and influence for 60 years in spite of several gross missteps and grievous misnomer.

We foresaw this ditch and prescribed how to avert falling into it. But we were dismissed as idealistic. Today, the idealists have become realists.”
He said he had lost confidence in the capacity of the PDP to provide opportunity for him to continue to play the politics of principles and values he believes in.

Family6 Romantic Valentine’s Day Ideas For Couples by kingphilip(op): 3:27am On Feb 07, 2016
Valentine is just a few days away and couples are holding their breath. On this day, the uncontrollable blushing, the tears of joy, the overwhelming smile, the depth of gratitude and the gripping affection guarantees you a special place in the heart of the person you love.

If you are searching for creative ways to impress your spouse, Jovago.com, Africa’s No 1 hotel booking portal is here to help as we roll out 6 valentine’s day ideas just for you!

1. Write an open letter on why you love your spouse
Have you been with your partner for months, but
are yet to tell him or her how you feel? This coming
valentine is your opportunity. Get a polished book
and pen reasons why you are smitten by your
partner. Do not forget to share fond memories you
have had together. Do not focus on their
shortcomings but let your respect and love for them
show. You will be shocked by their reaction.

2. Go on a scavenger hunt
This may need a bit of planning in order to get the
desired impact. Request your partner to answer
riddles or to find traces of items you have hidden
somewhere around your town and make the riddle or
search as easy as possible.
When he or she eventually finds the item, it should
include instructions that lead to a hotel or restaurant
where the romantic getaway will take place.

3. Deliver roses at her office
On Valentine’s day, you can order 6 roses to be
delivered at her office. The romantic secret here is
that you pay the dispatch boy to deliver 5 roses
while you give her 6th one yourself amidst reading a
love poem to her. This is an excellent idea for
couples that do not see each other often.

4. Special valentine getaway
If it has been awhile you went on a night out with
your spouse, valentine’s day is the time to surprise
her with a special getaway. On Val’s day, if your
children are still young, drop them off at your
aunt’s house for the night.
Ensure there are no hitches with the candlelight
dinner and room at an exquisite hotel in Lagos. In
between, pack the bags without your spouse having
an inkling of your plans. Then show up at your
wife or husband’s office unannounced to pick him
or her up for the weekend getaway. It will be a
pleasant experience for both of you.

5. Travel down memory lane
Pay a visit to the place where you had your first
date. It may be a restaurant, a cinema or a beach.
After you have ordered a meal, both of you should
take few minutes to write your favourite moments
together. Then share the lists. You will be astonished
to see what pops up on the lists. It will include
things that you thought were insignificant.

6. Watch a romantic movie
After the candlelight dinner and exchanging fond
memories, you can round up the day by watching a
romantic movie, not at the cinema but in the
comfort of your home.

Until people start understanding that doing things through people before u can get a thing isn't the best that's when they'll stop falling into the hands of those who intend to dupe them...

I'll advice everybody go do it yourself and avoid people scamming or duping you in the name of helping you out

It's also high time people get it into their heads that bulk of spiritual solutions lies in the person that is affected rather than the person de most times go meet.. Even if u go meet someone to help you with spiritual solution, better get the solution before paying a dime

Thank you

CACAWA:
that is not how jurisprudence works.

You can't punish a Trial Judge because you do not agree with his opinion.

If proof of bribery is substantiated, so be it. But to say because he felt party A was right, and you at the supreme court feel part B was right, so the juniour judge must be punished...what impetus.

The only reason the Supreme court is arm twisted into making this sort of decision is because of the mistake it made in the Rivers case.

In the Rivers case, they held that the use of Card reader was not a constitutional provision and so cannot be tendered as evidence as to whether or not an election truly held or didn't.

That opinion was enough to make all riggers win their case.

This opinion is against what the Tribunals and appeal Courts held, and although one may argue that truly the card reader was not mentioned in the electoral act or constitution, it is understandable that the act grants INEC the right to organise it's affairs. Hence, any method it deems fit for Identifying a registered voter should become Law and Binding.

When I heard that Fmr Gov. Peter Odili's wife is at the Supreme Court...I just LAUGHED
thanks for the enlightenment I really appreciate
PoliticsRe: Recent Supreme Court Judgements - International Embarrassment by kingphilip(m): 12:17am On Feb 04, 2016
Hmmmmm anytime I hear about the Supreme Court just one saying flashes my mind first and which is that made by justice Oputa the Supreme Court Justice.

"we are final not because we are infallible but we are infallible because we are final"

This is always bound to occur where someone or an institution becomes the highest authority without a checkmate from another body.

Though I'm not vast in legal matters to determine whether or not the cases they affirmed was right or wrong but I think the only way to avert any form of suspicion is to ensure that the body in charge of appointing supreme Court judges have credible individuals as members so as to appoint people of high credibility and avoid all these confusion arising from judgements been passed by the highest court in the land

In my opinion also, I think when and where judgments are upturned by higher courts or same courts, the former presiding judge/s should be tried so as to serve as deterrent to others who might want to tow the path of boycotting justice for whatever gain they might get

Long live the federal Republic of Nigeria
