Jesus emphasizes doing the will of the father as a condition to enter the Kingdom of heaven!

Paul says
For He says to Moses: “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” So then, it does not depend on man’s desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. (Romans 9:15-16)

Paul says it's by God's mercy oooooooooo!

Is it by God's mercy or by doing God's will aka works?

The early Church was strong with very fervent Christians because they continued steadfastly in the doctrines of their leaders, the Apostles, as we see in Acts 2:42:

And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Note that you are not to choose which doctrine to follow based on convenience but based on your conviction that the one who brought the doctrine developed it from the Scriptures. You should also be convinced that the person is the spiritual leader that God wants you to submit to.

Doctrines raised from the Scriptures will set you apart from the world. They are a great catalyst for your spiritual growth and well-being.

Unfortunately Matthew 13:55-56 doesn't prove these were Mary's children. Trust me, these arguments would have been brought up at the council. The fact that this matter had to go to council just like the Acts 15 matter, meant that some were questioning or deviating from church sacred tradition. The council decided, I believe them over any modern interpretations, Catholics/ Eastern Orthodox cannot reject this teaching.

The issue is simple bowing down before something or someone that isn't God does not automatically mean idolatry. One may bow before the mace in the national assembly, ever heard "take a bow" the mace is not an idol, Bowing is not idolatry, the mace represents something and the Bowing is showing respect to what it represents.

Sorry bro, there is no provision in scripture where you are allowed to leave the church Jesus and the apostles founded and found a new church. Whether you are a judaiser, like in the time of Paul, or you are a gnostic like in the 2nd century or and Arian like the JW or a protestant like you. The word of God is clear to cause fraction in the church so you can go start your own group is a sin. You pastor did it and the biblical judgement is that those who do such will not enter the kingdom of God.
