The latest trends we have been observing for some time now is closely related to the use of false information intentionally and unintentionally by some scholars. It's however certain that for every false information you fill during jamb, post utme or waec registration, there will always be a bad side of it and the consequences may be lighter or greater that expected. The repercussion will be discussed briefly below. False result you might have edited or submitted false information about your result to meet the school standard. Well, this is surly not a good idea and it can't be nothing but bad in all ramifications. Using a false result may not give you any problem now but a bigger problem is actually waiting ahead. After your graduation Most institution will confirm the result and will also request for the original result before your certificate can be issue to you and if detected the result you presented earlier is false, your admission will be terminated and the number of years, money, energy spend in the institution will be wasted. So, it's highly advised to desist from using false result to pursue admission. Wrong Name This is very common and it's need a very urgent attention, for instance in your Wace result the name that appeared on it is " john moses paul " and your jamb result is " john moses silas ” Even without been told you should be aware you have invited trouble but the good news ahead is that the aforesaid problem can be resolved. If you find yourself in a similar situation, you need to make a court affidavit to support the differences in the two names. You must accept that you are the bearer of the names on the two result. With the above step you are likely not to have any problem. False state if you used a wrong state, the repercussion is simple and clear. Your will be force to claim another man state and you may not be able to claim your state. You will continue to claim a wrong state for the rest of your life. A former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United
Kingdom, Dr. Christopher Kolade, has called on parents and
guardians to support their wards to accomplish their life
desires. Kolade stated this in Lagos when he visited Greensprings School, Lekki campus, ahead of the forthcoming gala nite planned by the institution. The event, scheduled for January 30, is to raise money for a modern performing arts centre for the 30-year-old school. According to him, every child has a talent, which he or she must have the opportunity to exercise in order to excel in life. The diplomat, who spoke on citizenship and excellence, noted that it was the responsibility of all to make Nigeria a better place. He said, “Nigerian is a place that we depend on for everything that we have. All the facilities and the opportunities we enjoy today belong to Nigeria. So if we want to live a happy life, we should be alive to our responsibilities, especially for the future generation. We need to do what we can for Nigeria today so that the country will continue to be a good place to live in.” Excited with drama and dance presentations of the pupils, he commended the school leadership for its commitment to excellence. He added, “The school is doing great. I am amazed with what is happening here, especially its achievments and now that I have seen the pupils perform, I am highly further impressed. Whatever we as citizens can do help support the school to help the pupils, we should do it.” The Director of Education in the school, Mr. Harry McFaul, said the centre would be in use to promote talents and academic excellence in pupils. According to him, the centre will have a dance studio, musical recital rooms and stages among other facilities. SOURCE : http://myschoolbase.com/forum2_theme_111260025.xhtml?tema=1190 |
There are a lot of other things you should be asking. Just think of everything which you would want to know about a university you might be studying at (especially one in a completely different country from your own). Here are some ideas to get you thinking about what you may ask... ‘Where can I live?’ Do you know what accommodation the institution offers? Is this accommodation on or off-campus? How expensive is this accommodation and what’s included? Are you guaranteed a place in on-campus accommodation in your first year? What support is there to find accommodation off-campus? ‘What’s the international student body like?’ What proportion of students currently enrolled are from #overseas? What countries do these students come from? Are there many students from your own country? If so, are there any specific clubs or societies which are tailored to students from here? ‘How is the course taught?’ Is the course taught through lectures, lab work or seminars? How many students are in these classes? What is the structure of a normal lecture/seminar? Will you work independently, or with one or more students as part of group-work? How many hours can you expect to spend on campus each week? Does this include face-time with your professors in their office hours? ‘What would you study specifically on a course?’ Can you get some specific details on the material you’ll be studying i.e. specific authors or cases? How much depth would you go into? Do you get to choose the modules you take? Or is there a core curriculum which is mandatory for everyone? ‘What have previous graduates on this course gone on to do?’ Does the university have any notable alumni in your field? Perhaps someone famous who you look up to? What companies or organisations are these alumni now working for which you might be able to apply to later too? Could you get work experience with one of these companies or alongside one of these individuals? Are there any unusual paths which graduates have gone down which might not be obvious? ‘What should I study if I want to study at a higher level later?’ If you have aspirations to study at postgraduate level or a further study level, what should you study before that (i.e. at undergraduate level)? What courses does the university offer which you could study which would allow you to make this progression? Are there pathways or pre-masters courses available? ‘Can you confirm the application deadlines?’ When are these deadlines? Are there different deadlines for students from different countries? What are the deadlines for scholarship applications for these courses? What do you need to provide by this date? ‘What’s the local area like?’ Why should you study in that region? What are the main attractions? Is there much of a nightlife? How easy is it to get around by public transport? Is it a major student town, or a mix of ages and backgrounds? ‘How can the university help me find employment after I complete my course?’ Does the university have links to local, national or international industries or organisations? Are any of these in the same field as you’re studying? Is there a careers department or service on campus? Are there are opportunities to complete work experience or practical work as part of your course? And if you really must, ask about #scholarships (but ask the right way)... The 2016/2017 jamb registration is now in progress and based on our review and analysis in the last jamb, we have 5 suggestion for the new and old applicants that are ready to join the Race of Admission seeking in Nigeria tertiary institutions. 1) Avoid competitive courses: I have always advised prospective candidate to be cautious of the course they choose to pursue. If you can barely score above 200 in jamb and you are fighting for law, medicine, accounting, mass com and others, you are wasting your time and resources. Some courses require extra sacrifices. The number of applicant that applied for the same course will be very high and there is limited admission slot. The extra brilliant student may survive it but the brilliant, average and poor student will be disappointed. 2) Avoid competitive school: I don't need to say much on competitive nature of some institution, where the percentage of candidate that applied and those that will be consider for admission is 100% vs /20%. It's a big Risk to choose a very competitive school and your general performance will determine either you will be admitted or not 3) select the correct subject combination: open your eyes, check the jamb brochure and also check the school Admission requirement. Any student that select the wrong subject combination is taking A very big risk and the end product of the said risk is Admission. The candidate will not be consider for admission 4) Never depend fully on Expo: If at all you want to go for anything like jamb expo choose wise like and don't depend fully (100%) on it . I can only advice you to register for Solutions Here The best way to fail in jamb is to start believing in other websites . 5) Read wise, Read smart and pray. The result of last jamb reveal in our analysis that the amount of time you spend to study may not have effect on your score. However if you read smart and wise you are likely to score above your expectation. Moreso, it's advisable to read at the time that suit your brain and body And don't read to show your mum and dat you are preparing for exam. Lastly the God factor is very essential, some candidate failed as a result of malfunction in the Cbt centre or power issue. Pray hard and success will be yours..... SOURCE |

A brilliant student need not be naturally brilliant. A brilliant student is simply a student who studies brilliantly, co-operating with how his or her brain naturally works, not working against it. Every student can be a brilliant student in his own way if he learns to do these five things. Brilliant Student Secret #1: Learn a Little Every Day Brilliant students learn a little every day. For long- term knowledge retention and recall, this strategy performs dramatically better than cramming. If you would like your children to learn the names and the capitals of all of the fifty states in the United States of America, which strategy do you think is better? #2: Reinforce Facts With Spaced Repetition Spaced repetition is a technique for making study time highly effective, a technique for choosing what to study and review on any given day. In spaced repetition, we carefully schedule each follow-up review for a specific fact. With every successful review, the time before the next review increases. With every mistake, the time before the next review decreases. (3) Brilliant students actively seek to make new associations with knowledge as soon as they acquire it. They do this by actively looking, reading, and researching to try to find knowledge they can associate with something they have learned. 4 : Study Using Active Recall To make a memory as strong as possible, have your students actively recall the facts they are learning. For example, john is memorizing the names of all of the presidents of Nigeria. Initially, she hears or reads a fact to be learned, such as “obasanjo started serving as president in the year 2000.” Simply hearing or reading information is called passive review. Passive review is not the best way to study material in order to remember it later. READ MORE HERE |
This will teach you and give you all guide on how to get fully prepared for 2016/2017 jamb CBT examination. To succeed in any examination in life one need to get fully prepared and follow up the necessary thing they are need to be covered Success in any endeavour comes only through hard work; there is no shortcut to genuine success. The same goes for examination. In this write up, I‘ll share with you useful success tips that will guide you before, during and after your JAMB UTME. Firstly, Prepare ahead of Time. Time management and organization is an inevitable step towards exam success. Most of us will always wish we had started revision earlier and that we had more time. If the thought of an examination makes you jittery, then you are probably not fully prepared. Of course everybody will be a bit nervous about an important examination, but there is no reason why you should fall apart and fail to do yourself justice if you know what to expect before you go in. There are ways of using the days, weeks and months available before the exam more wisely. Make a timetable that includes all your subjects, and think about combining the subjects you find difficult with those that come more naturally to you, so you have something to look forward to. Use your JAMB syllabus to make sure you have covered everything and be sure to reserve in your time table at least two weeks prior to the exam for your revision. Do the registration yourself, If Possible: According to JAMB, “REGISTRATION FOR THE UNIFIED TERTIARY MATRICULATION EXAMINATION (UTME) IS ONLINE (VIA INTERNET) AND ALL APPLICANTS ARE ADVISED TO REGISTER BY THEMSELVES”. It is advised that you do the online registration for the UTME yourself or be physically present at the point you are being registered by someone else, maybe a Cyber café attendant. This will go a long way in checkmating any form of error that might be made by whoever that did the registration for you in your absence. It will also help those that may be regarded as computer illiterates to get acquainted with the computer system, and this is very important. It is very unfortunate that in the modern world, there are still many adult Nigerians that take the desktop monitor for the computer and of course others that are too scared to even touch the computer system as if it will explode at their touch. Every JAMBites should be able to atleast have a personal e-mail address he/she operates him/herself. If you don’t, ask your friends to teach you how to get one. Go to the Cyber café with those friends of yours that uses the internet. If you can operate your mobile phone without going through any operation manual or asking anyone to help you operate your phone then you can as well operate a computer system. You only need a little guidance. Thoroughly Go through the JAMB Brochure Make sure you carefully read the JAMB brochure before doing the online registration. This will help you in making a perfect choice of the courses you are best suited for. Most JAMBites has never opened a JAMB brochure and this is why they always end up applying for the few popular courses without knowledge of other less popular courses which they may be better suited for. The JAMB Registrar Professor D. Ojerinde during a presentation at an examinations summit in Abuja last year pointed out that one of the few reasons why many students fail to gain admission is the fact that they often opt for certain courses like Medicine, Pharmacy, Architecture, Science Laboratory Technology, Business Administration, Law, Theatre Arts for admission due to their marketability. Last year alone over 10,000 candidates applied to study Medicine in the University of Nigeria while only about 100 were admitted via the primary admission list. Now, we know that a good number of candidates that apply for medicine are considered very brilliant in their respective schools, so it ends up being a big fight and a survival of the fittest where most candidates with high scores still end up not admitted. These wrong choices may also be traced to the dearth of guidance and counselling in our high schools. The JAMB syllabus can be assessed online on the following link HERE Make Use of Past Question Papers Get hold of and study regularly past JAMB exams question papers to get a feel of what’s required and to see how well you could cope with the previous exams. The best preparation is working through past papers and looking at your syllabus to avoid any surprises. In my time, I used the one time success series and they were very helpful. You can get any of the numerous past JAMB question paper series in the bookshops. It will do you a lot good. Minimize The Use of Social networks It is advisable to reduce to the bare minimum your use of social network sites and tools when you are preparing for exams as they KILL an unimaginable amount of your study time. If you are the type that can’t help always getting online these social networks, try as much as you can to strike a balance between the time you spend on these social networks and your study time. Invest most of your time on your studies rather than chatting away your time on 2go. A word is enough for the wise. Adhere to instructions During the exam, carefully read the instructions on your paper all the way through and make sure you know exactly what you have to do before you start. Do your shadings properly and neatly as wrong shadings has made so many JAMBites fail the exam they are very much well prepared for. When you are ready to start, read each question more than once to make sure it really does say what you think it says. Plan Your Time Work out how much time you should spend on each question, based on how many marks it has. Don’t spend ages racking your brains to think of the answer to the last part of a question – go on and start the next question instead. Make sure you have enough time towards the end of the exam to go through your answers before you are asked to submit your answer sheet. Don’t Hope on “Runs” One serious problem plaguing the Nigeria’s Education system is wide spread exam malpractice which seems to have eaten deep into the university matriculation examination organized by JAMB. Because of the way some of the beneficiaries of this misconduct go scot free and the way these “runs” are publicly advertised, more and more JAMBites are tempted to join the cheating game. But mind you, apart from the long term effects of exam malpractice, most candidates that involve in such act end up disappointed when the result is released and they realised they were duped. Take note, anybody that encourages you to subscribe to any illegal business is only after your money. They are majorly scammers! Don’t hope or depend on expo or any other form of JAMB runs to be successful in your JAMB exam. Just go for the exam well prepared and with confidence, you‘ll surely sail through. but if you are not really good you can just have expo as an alternative because no one on earth is an island of knowledge. Click HERE for sure solutions. With God All Things are Possible At the end of the exam, don’t trouble yourself trying to verify the correctness of the answers you supplied during the exam as it will do you no good. Always put God first in anything you do. Be in touch with him when you prepare for your exams, during the exam, after the exam and always. You‘ll surely not regret you did. Other Recommendations The Use of English is the only subject that is compulsory for every candidate that writes JAMB and a good performance in the Use of English will surely influence ones overall score. Therefore I recommend “Catch-Up English Language for SSCE/UME” by Prof. Peter Okebukola et al. as a perfect guide and companion for all JAMBites. I hope to expand this article in the future. All comments/ contributions are welcomed. source: Myschoolbase |
Today I want to share a knowledge that some aspirants and parents are not aware of in our modern university system. The university system of today differs from the system of yesterday. Yesterday was based on merit and today is based of merit, manipulation and formality Many candidates that deserve to be admitted have been rejected and left without any meaningful alternative rather than reapplying for Jamb over and over. The believe of some parent and student about gaining admission is mainly focused on High score, meeting cut off mark, score above average and performing exceptionally. although this culture is still maintained in some university but few schools hold this said culture with absolute respect. Things are getting ugly, the increasing demand for admission brings too many disadvantage and ugly incidence into the system. The admission capacity and strength is walking too slow and the demand for certificate is walking faster. THE FACT ABOUT ADMISSION Admission slot sharing : there are many university now that give each lecturer 2 or more slot to bring in any candidate provided the candidate score upto the minimum score. We can assume that each lecturer in the whole school will being 2 candidate each. And not to forget some top non teaching staff will also be entitled to 1 slot each. As a result of this there will be little space to admit candidate that are truly qualified. However candidate that score very high will be consider for admission and some candidate that perform above average will be transferred to department that is in need of student. The only group of people that will get their course are candidate that score very high, or candidate that choose a less competitive course and the rest will be hijack by the school staff. This is happening right now and it will continue to happen. Don't blame yourself if you are not offered admission this after meeting necessary requirement. Myschoolbase |

The vice counsellor of UNILORIN is appealing to those who made there cut off mark but there name isn't on d merit list, this isn't his fault but due to some reason your name was not there but still have faith in God because he is the one that can make you receive favour in the school eyes. The 2015/2016 admission is still in progress and the fortunate ( admitted student ) have been offered admission and more candidates will be admitted before the year ends. As it appears now, the names of some candidate appear only on jamb website and such candidate needs to wait for the list to appear on the school website. To be on a safer side, it's advisable to print your admission letter on jamb website while you wait for the school admission list. Moreso, it's compulsory for all candidate that are offered a course different from the choice of course selected in jamb to obtain a change of course form from jamb. 2015 admission continue and candidate that are yet to be offered admission should remain hopeful and positive. source : EXAMLABS |
