Principal of 2m on fixed deposit @ 8.5% for 91days will give you 42,000 so it’s really not a waste considering the flexibility of Fixed deposit. Overall Tbills is better but FD is not a bad investment aswell, Depends on how you see it tho

No bank will give you that rate. I'm currently running a FD with. First Bank Nigeria @6.8%. I'm on monthly rollover

It is what you get for 91 days. If you want to get higher, then you have to invest in a higher tenor.

Iam sure it is giving you vague values because you are not dividing the rate by 100. In the formula "interest=principal*time(tenure)*rate/365" you posted, divide the 10.5% to be 0.105.

so: interest=principal*time(tenure)*rate/365 = 2,000,000 * 91 * 0.105 /365 = 52,356.16

Is this what I get in a whole year with a principal of 2M or for 91 days?
