Some time ago, I started noticing how quickly the job market was changing.

Jobs people once considered secure were becoming uncertain, while technology kept creating new roles.
It made me ask myself, “What skill can I learn that will still be useful in the future?”

That was how I became interested in cybersecurity.

I later enrolled at ExcelMindCyber Institute and started learning GRC. I am still on the journey, but seeing other students make progress keeps me motivated.

The truth is, most careers can slow down, but cybersecurity keeps evolving.

Has anyone here also considered moving into cybersecurity?

I honestly didn’t think I’d ever get back into this account.

I tried a few times over the years, gave up, and moved on. Then today, I somehow found the right password.

It’s funny because while I was away from Nairaland, a lot changed in my life.

One of the biggest changes is that I found myself in cybersecurity.

If someone had told me a few years ago that I’d spend my time reading about cyber threats, risk, compliance, and all the things that happen behind the scenes to keep businesses safe, I probably wouldn’t have believed them.

The journey has been interesting so far. I’ve realized cybersecurity is much bigger than what many of us think. There are so many different paths, and that’s something I’m still discovering every day.

One place that has really shaped that journey for me is ExcelMind Cyber Institute (EMC). Being around people who are serious about learning and helping others grow has made a big difference, especially in understanding areas like GRC and the opportunities that come with it.

I’m still learning. I’m still asking questions. I’m still making mistakes and figuring things out.
So I thought, why not start sharing some of that journey here?

Nothing too serious. Just experiences, interesting things I come across, opportunities, and maybe a few lessons along the way.

It’s nice to be back here after all these years.

Let’s see where this journey goes.

I know another family friend who is a pastor and whose wife abandoned him to go and work abroad. He had to marry another woman. The man should be in is early 60's.
