theEYe21:

Power lines are common and convenient rest stops for birds in cities and towns where there are very few trees. High-tension wires make great lookout perches for passerine birds or the common perching birds, like sparrows, starlings, crows, grackles, to name a few. The feet of perching birds or songbirds are adapted to grabbing onto branches and power lines. Not all birds have this special adaptation.

Birds are social animals and like to interact with each other as they roost on power lines. Being up high gives the birds a good vantage point to see the surroundings and be on the lookout for predators and food sources.

Birds can be seen at dusk or sunrise perched on overhead power lines. Every time a bird lands on the wire, the entire row of birds on the same wire would move over for the newcomer. Birds are instinctively such considerate and accommodating little creatures.

This high-voltage convention appears to be an enormous flock of birds in the midst of migration, taking a short rest on power lines before heading on to their destination. These are nocturnal migrants because they are birds that migrate at night.

Nice explanation. Thanks

Its the only thing up there they can rest on, apart from trees, and they know they're in Nigeria so no big deal about electricity.

But in Ibadan with lot of trees, i still noticed the birds rather make use of electric poles instead of trees. Could there be a special reason?

They've evolved to recognize it as a relatively safe haven; away from the waiting hands of hungry homosapiens.
Do Nigerians actively hurt birds in cities like Lagos, Abuja..?

Birds are majestic creatures, blessed with the enviable ability to take flight. So why do they spend so much time lounging around on power or telephone wires?

Kissing is kind of like clockwork: You lean forward, close your eyes, pucker up, and plant a smooch on the person you like.

Many people find it creepy (if not downright rude) when their kissing partner keeps his or her eyes open.Had this argument with my palmchat boyfriend recently.

I have always wondered why we don’t look at one another in the eyes when we lock lips.

maybe someone would give a good reason today

Well, there is little to chose from both phones as both the Infinix Hot 3 and Itel 1550 Vision Plus are decent phones with good specs.

But a closer look at the specs online show the itel 1550 have an HD screen while the infinix is just normal IPS screen.

Also your pricing was a bit inaccurate. As seen on Konga website, the Infinix hot 3 is ₦29,500 while Itel 1550 Vision Plus is ₦26,300.

₦3000 is no small money in Nigeria presently.

With littlr to judge between the two, but with itel cheeper and with a better screen, i would definitly go for the itel 1550 if i were buying a new phone.

Let me commend the APC for sending a delegation to Enugu to sympatise with the people over the Boko Haram attacks.
So I ask again, have the 4 other Governors of the SE gone to Nimbo?
Have the Federal and State Legislature gone to Nimbo?
Has Ohaneze as a body gone?
OK
The people are watching.
