Ok, is the ACS Manual accessible on their website? Kindly be specific, is it for First degree or Masters. You know how NUC keeps adding and removing courses in the curriculum.
Here https://www.acs.org.au/msa/information-for-applicants.html
Scroll down to Skill Assessment Guidelines for Applicants. It's on the bottom and will download a pdf document.
Please read everything carefully especially from page 7.

What they do is:
They review your transcript and count the number of credit units DIRECTLY related to computing (usually things that have computer in the name or Software etc) and then calculate the percentage of that against your total credit units in the degree program.
What I recommend is that you look at the transcript for both Bachelors and Masters and see which one has a higher percentage.
Then you can choose whether the MAsters or the Bachelors is your preferred degree for assessment.

Otherwise, you may have to assess in an engineering profession like ELectronics Engineer or something like that

Hello.
Before you assess with ACS, please check your transcript before sending and ensure that the courses that have COMPUTING/SOFTWARE are a minimum of 33% (or 25%, I can't remember exactly what's in the ACS manual) of the total courses you did for the Masters/Bachelors degree.

If it is less, they may remove years from your exp. experience.

Good morning, please I need advice from the experienced people here.

I plan to migrate through the PR route directly.

I am 36 years of age with 8 years experience in banking.

I studied public administration and graduated with first class.

I will be sponsoring myself with account statement of 8m.

I have a wife and two kids but will like to leave alone and bring them over later.

I will like to know my chances of getting nominated from a regional area in Australia.

Swift responses will be appreciated
Hello.
The place to start on all eligibility for skilled migration to Australia is https://www.anzscosearch.com/points-test/
The Website actually has a lot of information, but you start by calculating your points. [ Select the 189 visa while testing ]

When you've done that, you have to determine which occupation you want to nominate. To my knowledge, banking is not an occupation -they would want to know the specific role in banking. Here's my advice on going about that
Look for a profession within the banking industry that you have worked in, and then ensure that the profession aligns with administration or something to do with public. I tried to search for you but my network seems bad
Play around with keywords such as Public, administration and find the one that is most relevant for you based on your experience.
You should also look at the BACKLOG tab for that profession (You'll see it once you search and select a profession on Anzscosearch) to know how many people you'd be competing with. This may help in deciding the profession you want.
It is also advised that the profession you select is on the MLTSSL List (Click on the List tab on the link I shared)

When you have zeroed in on a profession, and if you have a minimum of 75 points, I think you may have a good chance.

Hello Everyone. Compliments of the season. Been going through this thread and really need advice.

I am 33 years old, married with two kids. Graduated with a BA from Performing Arts from Unilorin. Have two years experience as a customer service representative and 3 years experience as a sales personnel. My wife also graduated from Unilorin with a BA in saw course and 8 years work experience with an FG paramilitary outfit.

Kindly help with advice on who is best qualifed to apply between myself and wife and what to do. Thanks
I don't have sufficient details to determine who is best qualified so I will refer you to the site.
Each of you should fill it and then anyone who comes with up with the higher points becomes the primary applicant. Also bear in mind that whose academic degree aligns with their profession between both of you as in some/most cases, if your degree isn't the same thing you are practising you may have some years of experience shaved off or rejected totally.

As you haven't done your English test, I advise you prepare well to have the highest scores ie minimum of 8 in ALL modules of IELTS or similar in PTE.
Your experience may appear small but it may also help you know what to prepare for. Start getting all important documents such as tax, pension etc so that when you need them, you already know what to do

Select the 189 visa while testing and from what you have written, I think you should be able to have a minimum of 75 points on 189.

If you do, then decide which your profession you want to access with - especially one that is related to either/both of your degrees and click each of the tabs inside ( Visa Options, S/T Eligibility, Backlog etc)
The backlog will serve as guide as to how many people you are competing with, so in case there are two professions you may be eligible for, choose the one with less competition.

The next step would be the profession you wish to assess as. I recommend you search for all professions related to TAX and/or Accounting and read their backlogs to know if there are many people you'd be competing with.
I checked and 'Taxation Accountant' backlog looks like there aren't too many people applying so you would stand a chance, in my opinion, with that.

When you have narrowed your choices, check the assessment authorities and see the one that favors you especially since your degree is not in accounting. Saying this because some of them may flat out refuse to assess based on that, others may shave off years of experience etc.

Please good evening, I have a quick question.
I have been working with a friend for years now, pay has not been regular, I get paid per project executed, although he is ready to generate pay slip and reference letter for me, and I as a person, I pay my tax by myself every two years from around 2013 and I have tax receipt.
My question is, can I use this tax I paid on self assessment for proof, being that I asked my friend and he said he doesn't do PAYE for his staff. Can I get tax clearance on this.
@ bellong
@tunlex
@knight1
Per Nigerian Tax Law, Tax clearance may be issued ONLY FOR THREE YEARS PRECEDING YEAR OF APPLICATION, ie if you apply this year, you can only get Tax Clearance covering 2017, 2018 and 2019. I advise that you get to the tax office to apply before this year ends otherwise, in about two weeks from now, you won't be able to get a Tax clearance for 2017 anymore which MAY affect the number of years you are able to claim for experience, especially if that profession relies heavily on Tax Clearance Certificate.
I personally do not recommend having the Tax Office giving you tax clearance up till 2013, because it may backfire but if it's something you want to pursue, can't stop ya.

However, it's likely to be sufficient that you have payslips and Tax Receipts. Worst case, meet with the Tax authority in your State, explain that you need tax clearance for that long period (about 7 years calculating from 2013). If they talk about not issuing beyond the three year thing, ask if you can WRITE THEM requesting tax clearance from 2013, attaching your tax receipts, and then they can reply you QUOTING the law that they can only issue for 3 years preceding and the 3 year Tax Clearance Certificate.
You may now use a combination of your Tax receipts, the reply letter (on headed paper) and your tax clearance issued to prove your years of experience.

But as I said, it is likely that tax receipts would suffice. If not, please do the tax clearance application as quickly as possible.

I started up the Australia PR sometime in October, below are my details

Age: 43
Degree: B.Eng
Course: Civil Engineering
Total Years of experience: 18years
IELTS: 7.5
Engineer Australia: CDR submitted

for my Wife

Age: 38
Degree: B.sc & M.sc
Course: Computer Science & Information Tech Mgt
Total Years of experience: 13years
IELTS: 8
ACS : RPL writing in progress

My plan is for both of us to have our own different profiles for 190,189 & 491

Do you guys think we have a chance or there's something else we need to do. Thanks
Hi Sir
I think you have a good chance especially if your wife is the main applicant.
I am assuming that she has a minimum of 8 in each of the IELTS modules and you have a minimum of 7.5 too.
If that is the case, I'll only advise that she checks the backlog of whichever ICT occupation she wants to nominate to be sure that there aren't too many people vying in the same occupation eg ICT business analyst has become very competitive so it needs higher points so you can check other professions that are relevant to her duties or that she can get a reference for at work, and do not have too many people in the 85+ points range. This is so that you don't wait in the pool for too long.

On that, I advice you go through the MLTSSL here https://www.anzscosearch.com/mltssl/ and check the backlog of each ACS profession for her to see how competitive each would be and *maybe* check the STSOL list too (just type ACS in search button). When you've narrowed to a couple of occupations that would be best for you, then check the State Eligibility and what not.

All the best.

What is the way forward
COVID isn't allowing us see the exact requirements by the States so I really can't tell which States would be inviting for your occupation until maybe February or March.
My advice is that you take the period between now and then to study and get a high score in IELTS. That would put you in a better position if your occupation is nominated. Also, I hope you have proof of employment such as Tax clearance/Bank Statement/Pay slips/ Pension etc
Have you calculated your points using the https://www.anzscosearch.com/points-test/ ?

I don't really have much experience outside Computer and Engineering related professions.
That said, I think you should check the Anzcosearch.com website for a profession that is related to procurement/supply chain.
When you've done that you'll see the body that's to assess you and their requirements. As much as possible, make sure that the profession is on the MLTSSL list (You'll find that on Anzsco too).

I just checked my score, like you said, it's 65; however, I am a bit confused...so it's either I use B.Eng or Ph.D.?
MSC from another country is not relevant?
1. Unless you have a Ph.D. *already*, I don't know if you can use it as a pathway but you can still find out.

2. In my opinion, the 65 is low and you may stay in the pool for very long with that. I suggest you try IELTS again and try to aim a minimum of 8 in all bands - it is very possible especially if you get one of these international textbooks and/or coaches. That would give you additional 10 points which would take your 491 to 90 points ( i.e 75 + 15 additional points for 491)

Hi.
In my experience, EA isn't something to be scared of (now that I've gone through it) provided you write your CDR well. Use the draft in MSA booklet AND ESPECIALLY the statements of duties to guide you. If you've been in construction, be very descriptive.
Eg I used a 9mm steel rod instead of a 5mm Iron rod because I determined from my strength of materials knowledge that bla bla. Show your innovation with how you improvised here and there. Put in some technical jargon. State measurements and attach drawings or pictures. I believe you'd be fine that way.

You can apply to EA for assessment.
189 is a long thing cos you need a high point which most are unable to get without a recognised degree from Australia.
Look towards 190 or 491 especially.
You can’t apply for nomination at the moment cos no state is currently nominating due to no allocation from the federal government caused by the pandemic. You may want to get everything ready so that you are able to apply as soon as the nomination list is released.
Hello.

Do you have any information as to when the federal government is likely to allocate so that States can nominate again?

I don't think the POF applies across all states. The conditions for 190 across all states though are quite "interesting". For instance, NSW requires you to have had a job in your nominated occupation in NSW for at least 12 months before applying for 190 (double check sha just to be sure).

Not sure what your total points are, but seeing as your English is superior proficiency, I suggest you also check out https://www.migration.sa.gov.au. That's the link for South Australia (SA). If your points average 95 (inclusive of state nomination), then 190 for SA may work for you.

Alternatively, you may consider the 491 route.
My total points for State nominated 190 Stream is 90; but I haven't found the requirements (especially the minimum points required for Victoria - Melbourne)
For 491, it's 100 points.

Also,
I read somewhere that Australian Computer Society doesn't accept student copy of transcript for skill assessment
In case you are familiar with their process,
Do they expect to be mailed the transcript from the school, or it's okay if you somehow have a copy for yourself?

Thank you.

it all depends on the state. No state is currently nominating ICT Business Analyst for offshore applicants for 491 or 190 except VIC which will send you a pre-invite (when you get such pre-invite cannot be ascertained as ICT occupation is one of the competitive occupations).

Can you please share a link to know which state is nominating for this?
(My preferred place is Melbourne)

Thank you so much.
