Oge90:Teaching is not relevant to your occupation. The chance of getting a positive outcome from Vetassess is very slim. Check the occupation list to see if there is any occupation you can nominate cos teaching is only for BEd holders only |

tunlex01: Ok. Thank you. But do you know someone who assessed as a Zoologist? Please I'd like to get in touch with the person. I've read through this thread and the other one and I haven't seen any. |

Oge90:Zoologist is a level 1 occupation and a degree from Uniport cannot assess for that occupation except your degree was a 5 year course. |

Pls gurus in the house. Are there any doctors in the house pushing for the Aussie PR. I'd like to find out if it's possible to apply for an alternative occupation using the medical degree without a medical license. I'm desperate to move to Australia, pls any useful guide to get in to the country before doing the licensure exams will be timely. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by manigold: 10:43am On Apr 17, 2021 |
@bellong, is it compulsory for a Doctor to get the medical license before applying for the PR even if he/she doesn't wish to practice for a while |

tunlex01: I'm confused. On the other thread, someone stated that 5 year courses from any Uni could fly and 4 year courses from any federal uni and a few states. So mine can't even go at all even if it's their diploma it's equated to? Besides Zoology usually is a 4 year course. Please help me clarify. And what is a level 1 occupation? |

Kahngor: When did you get your Bachelor degree? What about HND? How long have you practised quantity surveying and civil engineering? What do you do in civil engineering? |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by bellong: 12:24am On Apr 18, 2021 |
manigold: If you are nominating a medical occupation, you must be registered with AHPRA before applying for PR. To register with AHPRA, you must pass the medical exam. Other options are Medical administrator if you are one or Primary Health organisation manager. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by manigold: 2:53am On Apr 18, 2021 |
bellong: Thank you for responding. I did not see AHPRA on the ANZSCO search website, but MedBA. Are they same body. I was just trying to avoid doing the exams from back home. |

RodeDindu: Hello. Before you assess with ACS, please check your transcript before sending and ensure that the courses that have COMPUTING/SOFTWARE are a minimum of 33% (or 25%, I can't remember exactly what's in the ACS manual) of the total courses you did for the Masters/Bachelors degree. If it is less, they may remove years from your exp. experience. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by RodeDindu: 12:33pm On Apr 18, 2021 |
Knight1:Ok, is the ACS Manual accessible on their website? Kindly be specific, is it for First degree or Masters. You know how NUC keeps adding and removing courses in the curriculum. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 3:21pm On Apr 18, 2021 |
Goodies1:You may have to wait a little longer since your transcript just got to them. Your transcript is expected to have been delivered before you pay not 3 months after though. Have you been sent any email asking for your transcript? |

Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 3:24pm On Apr 18, 2021 |
RodeDindu:It should be on their website. Do you also have tax or pension statement for all the years because one of those is now a mandatory requirement |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 3:28pm On Apr 18, 2021 |
Oge90:5 year courses would fly for any occupational level. 4 year courses won’t fly for a level 1 occupation it’s not awarded by Unilag, OAU, Futa and UI. Although this does not apply to all assessing bodies. ACS and Vetassess judiciously make use of the AQF. Level 1 occupations require AQF Bachelor’s degree, that is, Australian equivalent Bachelor’s degree |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by RodeDindu: 4:44pm On Apr 18, 2021 |
tunlex01:Boss, kindly look into the matter professionally and itemize it softly for me please, that's why I came to seek the advice of elders on the field |

The closest is poultry farmer and Vetassess is still the assessing body. |

manigold: Medical board is responsible for oversight and regularisation of medical practice while AHPRA is responsible for national registration and accreditation of all health practitioners. So to get a positive assessment from the medical board, you must first be registered as a health practitioner in Australia which AHPRA does. This information is available on medical board website. |

adebrave1: Are you practising as a biochemist? Which University was your first degree? What is the minimum band score in your English test? |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by bellong: 4:41am On Apr 20, 2021 |
Goodies1: Your assessment will commence from the day your transcript was received. It will likely be ready soon, be patient. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Knight1(m): 11:42am On Apr 20, 2021 |
RodeDindu: Here https://www.acs.org.au/msa/information-for-applicants.html Scroll down to Skill Assessment Guidelines for Applicants. It's on the bottom and will download a pdf document. Please read everything carefully especially from page 7. What they do is: They review your transcript and count the number of credit units DIRECTLY related to computing (usually things that have computer in the name or Software etc) and then calculate the percentage of that against your total credit units in the degree program. What I recommend is that you look at the transcript for both Bachelors and Masters and see which one has a higher percentage. Then you can choose whether the MAsters or the Bachelors is your preferred degree for assessment. Otherwise, you may have to assess in an engineering profession like ELectronics Engineer or something like that |
