South Africa, unlike other African countries, has focused intensely on improving the life of its poor citizens, President Jacob Zuma said on Sunday. "What is it that causes protests and demonstrations in South Africa when the rest of Africa is not doing it? Once the countries were free, it was each one for themselves. There were no programs to deal with poor people," said Zuma in Pretoria. "If I am wrong, come and tell me which country did as we did. Once we were free we said our major focus is to address the plight of the poor. In no country in the world have you seen government giving people houses free of charge because they are poor." Zuma said that since 1994, government had immensely improved the lives of citizens. "There was no one who was talking about electricity in the rural areas before 1994. It was not an issue and there were no protests for that. No one was saying 'take services to the people'." Due to the extensive roll-out of services after 1994, South Africans had become dependent on the state. "The reality you can't find protests in other places is that there is no hope. When foreigners come to South Africa, because they are not used to government handing [out] things, they get here and see opportunities and thrive," said Zuma. "Our people are waiting for government. Our people are not used to standing up and doing things. These ones [foreigners] are not expecting any government to do anything so they get here, see opportunities and exploit them. They have taken over your small businesses." If he were a journalist, he would write to South Africans to say "wake up". Zuma was speaking at the commemoration of 'Black Wednesday' and 20 years of media freedom in South Africa. On Wednesday, October 19, 1977, the apartheid regime clamped down on the media, banning two newspapers — The World and the Weekend World. The editor and other journalists who stood up against the apartheid regime were arrested. This day became known as 'Black Wednesday'. "The reflection about the painful episodes that shaped our history in the long stretch of our journey to freedom is impossible to avoid. This year, we remember these episodes more, given that we are marking 20 years since the attainment of freedom and democracy in our country," said Zuma. Zuma also announced the establishment of a presidential communication and media working group to provide a platform for the sharing of ideas between government and media. "There is a lot we can discuss, from media diversity and transformation to how the media industry can contribute to the attainment of the five percent growth target by 2019," Zuma said in a speech prepared for delivery in Pretoria. "In this landmark year of 20 years of freedom, let us re-dedicate ourselves to working together to promote the right of the public to information." http://www.southafricalatestnews.co.za/news/450-foreigners-are-not-lazy-like-you-poor-south-africans-president-zuma-says.html |

Fahad Musanan, 24, was watching the Premier League clash with friends in Uganda when he fainted as Lampard slotted home with minutes to play. His friends rushed him to hospital but the 24-year-old, himself a professional footballer in the Ugandan Premier League, was pronounced dead upon his arrival at Bombo Military Hospital. "He has been a passionate fan of Chelsea and would do anything for the club," Musanan's friend Gerald Bagoole told Kawowo news agency. "We trained with him on Sunday morning, had lunch together." Kawowo reported: "Being a staunch Chelsea die-hard, it is believed shock might have led to his heart failure and complications." Fred Kajoba, Musanan's coach at Simba FC, confirmed Musanan had made no complaint during Sunday's training session. The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (Fufa) released a statement on their website moments after the player’s death on Sunday evening. “Fufa is in shock after receiving news about the sudden death of Simba FC player Musana Fahad in Bombo this evening,” read the statement. “The body is currently at the Bombo Barracks Hospital. Burial arrangements will be communicated later.” Last year a Ugandan Arsenal fan lost his house after placing a bet that the north London side would beat Manchester United. Chelsea had been leading title rivals City thanks to Andre Schurrle's strike until Lampard struck against the side he faithfully served for over ten years. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/401056/Chelsea-fan-dead-Manchester-City-Frank-Lampard |
That look when you suddenly regret not taking the "easier" Spurs job. That look when you just want David Moyes to hug you and say that he knows how it feels. ^^^ Lol ![]() Classic! |
That look when Mario Balotelli is laughing at you.
|
That look when even Filbert, the Leicester City mascot, is making fun of your team.
|
That look when you go from 3-1 up to 5-3 down. That look when you have Falcao, Rooney, Van Persie and Di Maria up top, but Rafael, Marcos Rojo, Chris Smalling and Tyler Blackett at the back. That look when Man United lose after having a two-goal lead for the first time in the Premier League era on your watch. That look when Man United lose at Leicester for the first time since 1985 on your watch.

Looks like even a black judge can play to white politics . " I was in bed , my girlfriend wasn't lying there next to me .....uh ....so I heard a noise ! Wait it MUST BE a burglar , and he locked himself in my bathroom ! So I emptied the clip of my 9mm into the bathroom door ACCIDENTLY killing my girlfriend ", who was found sitting on the bowl -with night clothes NOT pulled up indicating that she was NOT in the bathroom for the usual natural reasons - of course the door was found to be broken "after the discharging of the gun " by means of a cricket bat -ONLY THEN did I discover to my horror , that it was my girlfriend who I shot to death ! If anyone believes that - I got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell them . |
Beautiful nonsense, American marshal my as$, bundles of idiotic arrogant liars. |
Possibly a pay back to the Yankees for what Sawyer the Liberia-American man who brought Ebola to Nigeria. Lol That was uncalled for if that is the case. |
All they're doing is minimizing these brutal acts to a ho-hum level of routine, a kind that causes detached acceptance practiced when cutting the head off a chicken for the dinner table! Americans don't believe what they can't see and whats more couldn't care less awakening tomorrow morning rubbing their eyes, saying "James Foley who?" The world NEEDS TO SEE these brutal acts as the converse of deterrent. The world needs an infuriated inspiration to instill a sense of rage and readiness for when the time comes to fight ISIS hand-to-hand and hold the brutes to accountability. For instance: My idea for a televised beheading of an ISIS terrorist wouldn't be to dress in a masked BLACK Ninja outfit to hide the blood the way they do it. ...No-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o siree Bob! I'd hold the SOB by the neck wielding my scimitar outfitted in SNOW WHITE Ninja robes before I take him to his knees so his comrades can see the blood and gore after I quickly disembowel him...and [then] let him say his last words as I casually step directly behind him! |
The number of people who post recommendations about nuclear attacks fail to realize the consequences are Global. The radioactive nuclear dust from an explosion encircles the globe and invariably causes cancer in every country. During nuclear tests in the '50's milk in the US was affected and picked up strontium-90, which has a half-life of about 29 years. Strontium-90, seeks out bone and bone marrow and can result in bone cancer so people were advised not to give milk to their babies or young children. I'm sure the more powerful bombs of today will spread more exotic stuff throughout the World. Be careful what you wish for. |
Good old British justice. What a laugh. |

On which forum will they even be allowed sef?Don't mind the guy, he knows nothing of whatever he is saying. He thinks Treating Ebola is a matter of testing. He must be outta his mind. A |
Nigerian woman suspected of Ebola dies in UAE Associated Press ADAM SCHRECK 5 hours ago DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — A Nigerian woman who arrived on a flight to the United Arab Emirates capital of Abu Dhabi and later died in the city may have been infected with the Ebola virus, said health officials. The health authority in the emirate said in a statement carried by the Emirati state news agency WAM on Sunday evening that the 35-year-old woman was traveling from Nigeria to India for treatment of advanced metastatic cancer. Her health deteriorated while in transit at Abu Dhabi International Airport and as medics were trying to resuscitate her, they found signs that suggested a possible Ebola virus infection. Medical staff treating the woman followed safety and precautionary measures in line with World Health Organization guidelines, the statement added. The woman's husband, who was the only person sitting next to her on the plane, as well as five medics who treated her are being isolated pending test results on the deceased woman. All are in good health and show no symptoms of the illness, according to health officials. An Ebola outbreak has killed more than 1,100 people, mostly in the three West African countries of Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, according to WHO figures. Four people have died after contracting the disease in Nigeria, Africa's most populous country. The Ebola virus is typically transmitted through direct person-to-person contact or through contact with bodily secretions from an infected person. The WHO considers the risk to passengers traveling on a flight with an infected person to be "very low." Abu Dhabi is the capital and largest of seven sheikdoms that make up the United Arab Emirates. The country has grown into a major long-haul aviation hub. It is home to Dubai-based Emirates, the Middle East's largest airline, and Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways. Emirates earlier this month became the first carrier to halt flights to Guinea because of concerns about the spread of the Ebola virus there. https://www.yahoo.com/news/nigerian-woman-suspected-ebola-dies-uae-065831154.html |
