A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted the request by the Department of State Services (DSS) to further detain the convener of #RevolutionNow, Omoyele Sowore for 45 days pending the conclusion of its investigation. Justice Taiwo Taiwo, in a ruling on Thursday on an ex-parte motion by the DSS, said he would allow the agency detain Sowore for 45 days in the first instance, which could be renewed upon and application, to enable the DSS complete its investigation. In the motion ex-parte brought by the DSS, under Section 27 of the Terrorism Prevention Act, the agency accused Sowore of engaging in terrorism Act. It tendered two digital versatile discs (DVD), which contained recording of Sowore’s meeting with Nnamdi Kanu (of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra – IPOB) and an interview where Sowore was said to have boasted that members of the equally proscribed Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) were going to join forces with him to bring down the Nigerian government.

It is a well-known fact that for a song to attain more commercial success and capture the attention of music lovers, a music video is of high importance. So far, these are the 5 Nigerian music videos that have the highest YouTube views: Rude Boy – Reason With Me Nigerian singer, Paul Okoye popularly known as Rudeboy released the official music video for his song ”Reason With Me” on the 15th of April 2019. It was directed by Clearance Peters, the video has garnered over 17million YouTube views making it the most viewed music video in 2019. Kizz Daniel – Madu Kizz Daniel’s official music video for “Madu” was released on the 8th of February 2019 and the video made the song more interesting because of its highly captivating sexual scenes. Directed by ace director, Aje, the video has over 13 million YouTube views. Burna Boy Ft Zlatan – Killin Them Off Burna Boy’s African Giant album, “Killin Dem” featuring Zlatan was released on the 25th of January, 2019. Ace director, Prodigeezy directed the video and it has over 11.6 million YouTube views. Larry Gaaga Ft Wizkid – Low Larry Gaaga ft Wizkid’s official music video for Low was released on the 19th of April, 2019. Directed by Mr Moe Musa, the video has over 9.4 million YouTube views. Timaya – Balance Timaya released the visuals for “Balance” which is off his Chulo Vibes (EP) on the 31st of January, 2019. Directed by legendary director, Unlimited LA, the video has accumulated a total of 9 million YouTube views.

Davido’s Blow My Mind with American Singer, Chris Brown has surpassed two million Youtube views in just 24 hours. This is no surprise as the song became a hit since its release and has continued to trend worldwide. Davido becomes the first Nigerian artiste to achieve such and it is very much expected that the video would reach the 100million views mark very soon. The singer took to his Instagram page to thank his fans worldwide for their love and support.

Popular Nollywood actress, Biodun Okeowo popularly known as Omoborty ahs revealed acting doesn’t pay all the bills of the actors. She explained how she has been asked by so many people if Nollywood is what pays her bills which she outrightly denied. She urged anyone who plans to join the entertainment industry to have their own personal business before joining. She wrote: Many times I have been asked if acting is what pays my bills, I’m here to tell you the truth!! It is not. The money most of us collect is not enough to foot all our bills, especially those of us with huge responsibilities, reason some of us started paying attention to businesses years ago. That is why someone like me have done less movies and focused more on businesses that is more profitable. Acting will give you name, recognition, often more access and in some cases very supportive fans. My advice is as you come into this industry or continue in this job, have a legitimate side business, build quality relationships, become a serious minded business woman and expect less from any man. I have had people talk about men making women in the industry rich and I wonder what man can make you rich and help you sustain wealth like a business will do. So my advice again, focus on yourself building legitimate businesses, all the rest will just be an addition. If you are lucky to meet a man who adds more to your wealth, all well and good, please grab it with both hands. There’s nothing wrong with addition, ogun subtraction ni ka ma ri (may we not encounter subtraction IJN)…
