When I said I learnt filmmaking myself, I meant, I learn it with my money. Not parents.

There are many courses in filmmaking, directing, editing, cinematography, lights, costume, set designing etc. You just have to pick the ones you're interested in. I learnt in hdfa Abuja. You can google search about it to know more.
I learnt editing. Under editing, there's animation, normal editing, motion graphics etc.
You just have to pick the one you're interested in and what you can afford.

Ok... now I get u...
Under filmmaking, u went for only editing (animation, motion, normal editing)? That's nice. Though some do teach u only normal video editing and not the rest.

Please if it's not too late, you can spare some time and learn filmmaking or pure animation. The field is very lucrative and always in demand.

To all the youngins out here, ffuck what your parents think, they won't be there when you're stuck career wise. They want the best for you but, don't let them dictate your career to you.
I also wanted to become a programmer, but I was discouraged. Now, I'm working part time as an post production associate at an ad coy.
I learnt filmmaking all by myself even tho I read computer science in school.
Though I like my job, but I'd be happier doing what I've always wanted to do.

Where and how did u learn filmmaking by yourself? What are the courses involved to call yourself a filmmaker? Awaiting answers from u.

Online? There are numerous ways to go about it. But what I always tell people is to first pursue a path that aligns with their passion.

For instance, I discovered that I'm kinda good at writing.

So, I picked up freelance writing and I charge from #2 to #5 per word.

For a 1000 words article, I can make from #2000 to #10,000. Pretty cool, right?

To share my knowledge, I even started a blog.

Finding clients isn't easy though, especially foreigners since they believe every Nigerian is a scammer. It's not easy at all..

Mini importation, dropshipping, affiliate marketing, etc. are also great ways, but will require settling down to learn the ropes.

It isn't something you just rush in and expect results overnight.

Others will include Blogging, Vlogging (YouTube), or simply starting an offline business.

When you discover a business you want to start, stick to it until you make it.

I love applying the 2-year rule, which entails focusing on a thing for 2 years irrespective of weather is yielding result or not.

You know why? Most times, we find ourselves giving up on a lucrative idea just because of our impatient.

I understand what you are saying, but you have to recognize that his work is not easy. He sometimes has to drive long hours to check cars, review, respond to clients, appeal to the aggrieved, etc. He then has to go back to each of these locations and move these cars to where they get shipped. The process is a continuous one, it will take a toll on his health after a while I assure you.
After that he has to monitor people acting on his behalf in Nigeria.
I was speaking with his best intention in mind. True, it is not easy to please humans.

Career / Re: Should I Stay With My Job Or Go With This New Job? by Knox123(m): 10:16am On Jun 16, 2020
TheSkyIsRed:
Hello Nairalanders! Please I'm in serious need of your candid advice. Let me go straight to the point.

I've been going through a delimma for some days now. I'm presently working with a microfinance bank and i earn about 40k after tax. Recently, I was offered a job in government house with a salary slightly above my present salary.

In my present place of work, there is job security and I learn a lot on the job although the salary ain't much. In the new job, there is free accommodation but no job security because I'm being employed by the SA (special assistant) to the governor and i won't be getting any official appointment letter.

The problem now is, I'm stuck between the two. I don't know if I'm to go with the new offer or continue with my present job. I don't want to take a decision that I might regret tomorrow. My fear is that I might be sacked at any time because I'm not employed directly by the government but the SA.

I've been thinking about it and i still don't know the best decision to take. So, I decided to seek advice from nairaland cause I know I can get good advice here.

Please I will appreciate your sincere advice and contributions.

Chances of Obaseki winning is slim if direct primary is used.

Don't be surprised if Ize-iyamu failed to get the ticket too, it can go to one of the other four.
