Satellite TV Technology › Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by kogistar: 11:08pm On Apr 25, 2016 |
davodguy: Both are good.
Key points are
1) get original dish. Too many fake dishes out there
Some time in 2001, that's way before Nairaland was created, during our nilesat installation, we had issues with net dishes and back then we stopped using net dishes for nilesat and instead opted for pan and original fibre dishes
Net dishes makes a lot of sense for C band satellites. I can also confirm that 2.4m net dish is doing well on 9e and sport 24. This isn't mere claim but tested fact.
If you can't get original pan or fibre, go for net dish
1) Fibre 2) Pan 3) Net
The only issue with fibre is the non detachable nature like pan and net there is net/pan dish in STRONG SHOP in my area, dos it mean that, if i buy net dish, i won't get nilsat? note; its sold by STRONG DEALER |

davodguy: Thank you for this comment.
Emmachile one of my guys and very experienced satellite enthusiast like myself said the same thing
All the belligerent got to do is confirm his claim and not just sit behind the screen. After all, nothing is really impossible. We must keep trying until we get it done 2.4 net dish & 2.4 pan dish. which one is better? |

bigtt76: Even batteries for cars are not meant to last more than 2 years on 100% efficiency. Efficiency drops as the years go by. The deep cycle batteries are no different dear. If you are opportuned to get very good ones ...you will enjoy it! dry cell vs wet cell which one is more durable? |

oyb: by virtue of my work experience, i have worked with multiple variants of these inverters for different facilities [office, . the mopower is no different. the batteries go in two years.
you claim the mercury inverter 'ruined' your batteries and that your batteries were 'restored' by a mopower inverter
all you are doing is FUD. in my experience, they are all the same. the diference is that the sellers of mopower, luminous sukam and the likes are way too greedy and desperate to make a killing off nigerians.
all inverters have 'poor charging' . thats why they say get a 'high speed charger' which will charge your batteries faster but will shorten their lifespan.
i bought a i.4 kba sukam inverter some years back. 35k, csh and carry . it blew once. when i got it fixed, a fuse was replaced. this fuse was not locally avaialble, so from then on i was constantly rewiring the inverter. after i got tired of this i switched to another model , a so called pure sine wave that went bad the very day i bought it.
i saw this same sukam at luminous shop for over 150,000 last year. i just shook my head. the greed of nigerians. can u tel me if thjs battery called TROJAN is good & durable? DMerciful: In a month I normally use fuel worth N8000 to power my generator anytime there's power outage but since I bought my inverter more than a year ago, I spend averagely N500 per month. Yes..N500 averagely as I could go for 3months sometimes without putting on my gen. This backup system has been very helpful especially now that there is poor mains supply and fuel scarcity with exorbitant price. Those of you complaining of excessing estimated bill, you can get value for the bills you pay if you have a backup system since you'll massively utilize the mains when it is available provided you can have light at least once in two days. Below is my 1.5kva sine wave inverter and 4batteries system. Show us pics of your backup system and tell us how much you save from this arrangement per month.

Politics › Ex-girlfriend Allegedly Set Lover’s Shop Ablaze by kogistar(op): 4:51pm On Apr 21, 2016 |
A Dutse Grade 1 Area Court in Abuja on Thursday admitted a 25-year old woman, Ngozi Ugwu, to bail in the sum of N50,000 for allegedly setting her ex-boyfriend’s shop on fire. The presiding officer, Mr Ado Ahmed, ordered the defendant to produce one surety in like sum. Ahmed said that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction, and adjourned hearing of the case till May 12. Ugwu, a resident of 16-16, Bwari, is facing a two-count charge of criminal intimidation and mischief by fire with intent to cause damage to property. She pleaded not guilty. The Prosecutor, Mrs Agnes Aluko-Adewumi, a senior state counsel, had told the court that the complainant, Ugwoke Nwabueze, reported the case in Bwari Police Station on Feb.7. Aluko-Adewumi said that the defendant, the complainant's ex-girlfriend, had on Feb.6 threatened to kill him and burn his patent medicine store after a disagreement ensued between the two. ``The next day, Feb.7, at about 3 p.m., the defendant went to the shop which is located at Friendship Street along SCC Road in Bwari. ``She, then, allegedly set the store on fire with the intent to cause damage to his property, as a result, James Ayogu, sustained injuries. ``Also, part of the shop, 56 cartons of can malt drinks, 16 bags of sachet water as well as recharge cards, all items valued N200,000 were destroyed,’’ the prosecutor said. She said the offences contravened Sections 396 and 336 of the Penal Code http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/04/ex-girlfriend-allegedly-set-lovers-shop-ablaze/ |

I stole from banks because the operatives were careless — Robbery suspect ON April 21, 20165:33 AM/IN News/Comments By Esther Onyegbula A 34-year-old suspect, Ibrahim Abudulamdi, paraded, yesterday, by the Lagos State Police Command, said he is not a robber, but goes to bank to steal after studying the environment. “I am not a robber, I go into banks to steal, not to rob. When I get there I pretend that I want to lodge some money. For instance, when I went into FCMB to withdraw money, I went straight to the bulk room after monitoring the environment carefully, I saw some money and I collected it. “I collected N1.2 million, it was this year that I went there. I didn’t go there with a pistol. I succeeded in stealing from the bank because the bank operatives were careless. I went into the bulk room and picked the money, I am not a robber. There was nobody there, I am telling you exactly what happened. But, it was gathered that Ibrahim went to the bank with a Ghana-must-go bag pretending he wanted to deposit money. Later he allegedly took a gun from the bag and attacked the cashier. Demonstrating how he usually swapped his polythene bag containing cut-to-size papers with the victim's own containing money while pretending to be asking the cashier questions, Ibrahim said he used different methods for different operations. “Sometimes, I simply swap the victim's bag containing money with a similar one containing cut-to-size papers. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/04/stole-banks-operatives-careless-robbery-suspect/ |
