PoliticsU.s. Embassy Warns Of Boko Haram Attacks by Koikoi(op): 11:57pm On Nov 06, 2011
The United States embassy in Nigeria has warned of possible attack on several locations and hotels in Abuja during the Sallah holiday by members of the Boko Haram sect.
In an emergency message to U.S citizens in Nigeria on November 5, the embassy said potential targets may include Nicon Luxury, Sheraton Hotel and the Transcorp Hilton Hotel.
Full text of the message on the embassy’s website http://nigeria.usembassy.gov reads:
“The U.S. Mission in Nigeria issues the following emergency message for the attention of all U.S. citizens in Abuja, Nigeria.
“Following the recent Boko Haram, aka Nigerian Taliban, attacks in Borno and Yobe States, the U.S. Embassy has received information that Boko Haram may plan to attack several locations and hotels in Abuja, Nigeria, during the Sallah holiday. Potential targets may include the Nicon Luxury, the Sheraton Hotel, and the Transcorp Hilton Hotel.
“All U.S. Government personnel have been instructed to avoid these locations, and previously scheduled events have been cancelled. American citizens should expect additional police and military checkpoints, additional security, and possible road blocks in Abuja for the foreseeable future.
“The U.S. government has no additional information regarding the timing of the possible attacks.
“The Embassy reminds U.S. citizens to exercise additional caution. Please maintain a high state of vigilance and personal awareness, particularly in and around Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, near Nigerian government facilities, diplomatic missions, large gathering places, hotels, markets and malls, and places of worship.
“We advise all U.S. citizens to review their personal security plans, remain aware of their surroundings, including local events, monitor local news stations for updates, and report specific incidences of targeted violence to the U.S. Embassy in Abuja or the U. S. Consulate General in Lagos . U.S. citizens should maintain a high level of vigilance and take appropriate steps to enhance their personal security.”

marutimon:
If the score remains the same Nigeria has 7 points and a +4 GD. They could still qualify from second place. They are still in for now (Libya has 8 pts, Nigeria is 2nd with 7 points and the best GD).

And honestly it looks like no other country is likely to beat that GD and point total.
Guy, you are behind time. b4 this match, Guinea had 13 points, while Nigeria had 10. Pls check your record

FamilyRe: Is Boarding School Beneficial To Children? by Koikoi(m): 1:17pm On Oct 08, 2011
It all depends on which angle you are looking at it from. If you want to control your child all the way fine, boarding is out of the question. but if you want your child to be independent as he/she come of age, go for boarding. Our society is complex, very complex and from my point of view, letting a child know that life could be pain at times is necessary cos that child will leave your house one day and stay on his/her own. THE LION TEACHES ITS CUB HOW TO HUNT EARLY IN LIFE!

It was like watching a typical Nigerian State School pupil being forced to recite in front of the Assembly ground.
the entire time he read his eyes only left the paper for a combined time of 3 seconds.
very easy to talk from the sidelines anonymously. I'm sure when the light beams on you, you'll play the dumb.
