gentlegg:
If we all sit down to watch, where will you see protesters to watch?
Vindictive ones like Bakare would lead while mumus would follow. The sane ones among us would sit back at home and watch. After all its not by force for everybody to be wise

megastu:
for me the surest way to stay alive is to sit back at home and watch the foooools on the street protest on channeltv live with a bottle of Smirnoff ice

@sili, what a sili statement to make. If you cant join the protest, support in any way you can, or better still, pray for them. You wouls ultimately benefit from their fight.

Are you better than tunde bakare, fola adeola and all the artists that leave their houses daily just to go and get the wold to hear that we are having a very clueless Government?
Just say you like to lick Bakare's vengeful a-s-s

PoliticsFuel Subsidy Stalemate: Who Do You Think Will Bow First, Fg Or Nlc/tuc? by Koikoi(op): 8:25pm On Jan 10, 2012
As the strike called by the NLC/TUC over the removal of fuel subsidy starts taking its toll on both the national economy and private life of citizens, lets hear your views on who you believe will bow first. So far, both sides are not shifting grounds and some people are already complaining of lost of income to them as a result of the strike action. What do you think?

@ alj harem
You have a nice post up there and what I can make out of it is that we are all frustrated by these cabal but is it not better we state our issues clearly from the outset rather than hiding under subsidy removal to vilify people who are also fighting tooth and nail to better our lot?  There is no argueing the fact that the govt could hv handled the situation better but to paralise economic activities and ask for a reversal of a policy that previous administrations had dreaded to implement is wrong. Now that the protest has started, Let NLC marshal out its grievances clearly and it must include the cutting down of the excesses in allowances of our legislative arm. It will take an Angel to convince me that Ngozi, Sanusi and Jonathan are removing this subsidy in other to steal it. These are not ordinary politicians, if we cricify them now cos they are implementing an umpopilar policy is it Bakare and his group that are just fighting for their interests that we will accept?

THE GOVT SHOULD FIGHT THE CORRUPTION IN THE SYSTEM IN ADDITION TO SUBSIDY REMOVAL.
This is good stuff. keep it up

Calamama:
So wetin concern Edo people if Hausa dey born church for Kano and Abuja ??

Don't get me wrong I'm all for showing concern for people caught up in the terrorist mayhem in the northern states likewise i am concerned for people caught up in the mayhem  in the South, Eastern and Western states. But that's me, I'm a Nationalists. I'm concerned for all Nigerians equally.  But apparently those people in Benin are not, they are attacking, so we are "informed" here,( grin ) people or infrastructure they believe are northern. Why?

Edo people are not Ibo, they are not the most christian people in Nigeria so whats their business ?

Which one, Subsidy, Christianity, Ethnicity or stupidity ?
A soldier man (hausa) shot and kill a boy in Benin earlier in the day, very likely that was what triggered the action. Nobody likes what's going on in the North right now and pple are not ready to forgive them for any misbehaviour in other parts of the country

Is there no way of arresting and prosecuting pple like Bakare who openly commit treason like dis?
Arrest who? Bakare? That will be giving him undue popularity. just ignore the the man of devil. I watched it on channels TV. Bar. Ken Odidika asked a question when he was being interviewed on Channels he asked: is that a man of GOD or a man of the devil? The answer to that question is obvious.

My pity go to his followers!

The other day he was calling his followers FOOLS right in his church!

This step of removing subsidy is not a bad idea, but we need to ask the right questions
1. What infrastructure did government provide when the subsidy was 200billion?
2. What was done with the proceed from diesel deregulation?
3. What exactly jack the subsidy from 400B to 1.4trillion in less than a Year? please even if it is corruption then that will be scientific because since Abacha days of fuel importation there has been corrupt practices.

I think NOI is not sincere and she lied to Nigerians.

They want to decieve us, we are wiser now. We are making a statement it is not business as usual.
We need to start from some where. We cannot continue to refer to the failures and disappointments of yesterday to refuse to faction a way out for tomorrow, otherwise we'll just be living for today and no plan for the future. What then are we going to leave for future generations? unfortunately, we are a consuming and not a producing nation but if we have infrastructures in place the trend may just reverse
PoliticsWho's Funding Protester's Party At Ojota by Koikoi(op): 3:29pm On Jan 10, 2012
Fun seekers have turned Ojota into a haven of sort, where notable musicians have lined up to climb the stage. The crowed there is increasing by the minute and by 2morrow, history will be made in terms of crowed.

I'm just curious about the costs

PoliticsRe: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala And Sanusi On AIT Matters Arising by Koikoi(m): 2:37pm On Jan 10, 2012
The fight against corruption starts from here. There has been too much rot in the system, especially in the oil sector-the mainstay of our economy. I personally applaud this administration for this bold move. Remove the incentive(subsidy) for corruption in the oil sector. We may not agree now, but in a few years time we'll be thanking and praying for president Jonathan for this foresight

Madam, its not like they do not understand the situation. The mouthy vermin sees the situation as a ploy to remove honey from their mouths so, they lead the poor hapless Nigerians by the nose. They don't care if the economy crashes or not. They just want the corruption ridden status quo

PoliticsRe: What Is The Point Of NLC/TUC Protest? Just Fun Day Off Work? by Koikoi(m): 10:06am On Jan 09, 2012
To me, the NLC/TUC have no business at spearheading the protests because there's no trade dispute. This should've been handled by civil organizations as well as the people themselves. LET THE PEOPLE SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. Do not force me to close down my business. At the end of the day, NLC/TUC members will still get their salaries even for the number of days the system was shut down. Nigerians shine ur eyes

PoliticsRe: Nba Urges National Assembly To Impeach Jonathan by Koikoi(m): 2:24pm On Jan 07, 2012
The NBA's supposed to be a noble institution instead What do we have? Who gains when subsidy is retained? Pay less for fuel and suffer perpetually? The fight against corruption must start from somewhere someday. FUEL SUBSIDY is the mother and father of corruption in Nigeria. if we cannot endure a little pain a better tomorrow, then is too bad for a pple who wants to be respected outside. How do you feel when you see the direction Ghana is going?

I wont be surprised if the sponsors of this bad belle thinking are not the same pple that have been feeding fat on the oil subsidy and NBA turns deaf and dumb on that issue. Shameless institution!

My friend this is not a question of being dull. Use your common sense to add it up. How long do you think the average Nigerian can hold out on such a strike.

Shut down the system and see who blinks first. I cannot understand why pple don't use their brains? The average Nigerian depends on daily income how long do you think they will survive with such a strike action?
