MrMarcus:
You don't need a current account for Form A transactions.
Any account would do just fine, once you have given the bank an authorisation in writing to debit your account for the transactions.
All mine was done with a savings account. #$afe#
again, ask questions, i have lived in owerri, and firstbank is not the only bank there. GTbank do form A on current account only.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by kokegbe(m): 9:38pm On Jul 16, 2015
MrMarcus:
The information that you require a current account for Form A is very wrong.
I did mine with my savings account 3different times in 3different first bank branches in Owerri.
bro, ask more questions before concluding, GTbank says form A is for current account only.

I need help guys. Please i need someone to explain international bank transfer to me. How many charges are there? What exchange rate do they use? CBN rates or on the street rates? I want to know which is better? Bank transfer or card payment? Someone should please help me.
International bank transfer are 2 types. One is bank to bank ie you that wants to transfer should have a foreign currency account aka domicilliary account ie pound or dollar account. The second type is form A. Form A u need a current account in naira, the bank will then pay for u in the foreign currency you apply for. for form A most banks will charge 1% as charge, 0.5% of charge as VAT, #4000 as telex charge, then about $18 as offshore charge. Yes they do use CBN rates. I myself paid with my card over the weekend, i was charged #338 to 1GBP. For card there are no extra charges. NB: i applied for form A but was declined because i didn't have my university certificate, my school says it's not ready but the bank refused stating that it's a cbn requirement. Which is better? It's your choice. card is faster cos ur payment reflects immediately, but form A seems to be more strict in terms of cbn rates ie you will still pay less than card inspite of the charges. hope u get?

You need to be in Rivers state to know that Amaechi is a fake package.
keep ur sentiments aside and be truthful, Amaechi is not an angel. To call him fake, then what was Odili? that u hate him doesn't mean u will dismiss all he did, remember ur man wike just started, let's not judge his intent let's judge him at the end of his tenure.

Please house help me here. My tuition fee is GBP23340 out of wch I have made a deposit of 2000pounds. I want to know how much I need in my account if I m going to study in central London.
Also is, is it that I will apply for the visa exactly 28 days after I deposited the money?
I also would love to know the fastest way to do the application. Thank you hou.se
you need to have a total of 21340+9180=30520GBP in your account. you need to have this money for 28days in your account before you apply for visa because they need you to print your account statement showing that you have the money for a 28day period. The application is all online. If you mean where to apply to get it faster, recent applicants say Abuja is fastest, then ikeja, before victoria island. hope this was helpful? Don't forget, avoid agents like a plague.

That's the same thing First Bank said when my mom wanted to pay. The other alternative was my NYSC Certificate so I had to wait till I passed out last week Thursday so if you have your NYSC certificate you should be fine.
@derena i have mine, they still refused.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by kokegbe(m): 1:56pm On Jul 10, 2015
spikesC they said it's a cbn requirement. Not them. Someone from gtbank advised me to pay by card cos it's also a requirement and moreover, to do a form A, you need to have a current account and i don't have one.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by kokegbe(m): 9:02am On Jul 10, 2015
@justwise @spikesC firstbank turned down my form A thrice, they said cbn requires my original certificate of graduation, and university of PORTHARCOURT say it's not ready. Should i go with the online card payment then? what are the charges if any?

please justwise and spikesC..... which is cheaper to use in making payment, atm card online or bank wire transfer? i'm asking as regards bank charges and exchange rate to the pounds.

This pictures are from my street in Port Harcourt. Take note, these waters are not flood waters cos they have been here and stagnant for 5years plus. How it happened? There were drainages on kala road ie the road that my street empties to, but then a new contractor reconstructed the road and removed the drainages.Of great importance is this, this is the village of the current governor of rivers state.

PoliticsRe: Buhari Will Support My Probe Of Amaechi’s Corrupt Practices - Wike by kokegbe(m): 10:55am On Jun 20, 2015
TheGoodJoe:
As a staunch Amaechi Supporter because he is the best governor I ever witnessed. I stand for a fair probe. Not a targeted probe to punish the only leader who stood for the people of Rivers State.

It seems Amaechi's predecessors like Odili are ashamed of what Amaechi did and this is a way to tarnish his image.

The Monorail project would have been a landmark achievement of Amaechi and he would do more if the necessary allocation to the state was not removed by GEJ.

I welcome the probe because I know that it would absolve Amaechi of most of the lies these people like Ikuru and Wike are parading. If Amaechi wanted to steal money as they claim, he will not spend time creating jobs for thousands of people like Timariv and his teachers training program. The same people Wike is sacking.
God bless you brother. Let the truth come out.

Wike wants to probe a man who provided free healthcare, education, uniforms and books for his people while he rolls with a man like Odili who plunged the state into darkness.

Most probing in Nigeria are only for withchunting especially if the past govenment and present government are in different parties.
Anyway, Wike should start the probing from 2007-2015 especially when he (Wike) was Chief of Staff to Amechi.
As for Tele Ikuru, he is just shameless, he was part of the government for 8years and he has the self righteousness to open his mouth and say the government was corrupt. i shake kead for am, we are so bold even in doing evil.

Mekurexx:
Still very surprised the topic of Jobs & migration in UK is still trending here.I have stopped worrying about that. Lol My sis finished from Columbia Uni (3.5 GPA), NYC for Bsc tho and still hasn't got a job. tho she did an internship with AIG but couldn't secure full time employment because of the fact her driver's license wasn't up to 1 year. Well no doubt her Columbia degree enabled her to get some very good schools for Msc..... For me personally, I still believe in getting the best of grades in UK and then looking for jobs outside UK. I finished my NYSC last year and worked with some couple in PHC that took me randomly. husby & wifey schooled in UK, husby got a very good msc result, applied to Shell, was picked and been working. he collects 10m a month. head of civil engineering dept. cheesy cheesy I dont know any job in UK,US or wherever that you will be collecting that per month. So it still bores down to academics (sexy grades), Favour, zeal (cuz it can be very tiring applying for jobs etc) and being smart(knowing what to do,where to apply at the right time).
u hit the nail on the head. i told some folks over on another thread what u said and i was almost crucified.

Mr kokegbe, I have lived on both sides of the divide so I am making my points based on experience, u mention that some one bought a brand new car of 6million;how many highly paid workers in nigeria can afford a car of 6m, even your v.p(osinbajo) confessed dat he bought his 1st brand new car at d age of 49 in nigeria. Pls argue sensibly and with due respect, your points are not valid. Case closed.
u have no points to make. good u close the case.

Lest we derail this thread, why can't there be a thread to discuss the easieast and surest countries for nigerians to go to ie for those who intend to immigrate permanently through the student visa to work permit route
TravelRe: 5 Things You Should Considered Before Coming To Study In The UK by kokegbe(m): 10:57pm On Jun 17, 2015
mobuch:
Sorry sire, what u just said above ^^^^ is a very big and baseless lie. It lacks water. Do you research at all huh
@Obiwannn @mobuch. I hope you know that in all these countries from New zealand to Australia to Canada to America, graduate jobs are scarce right now, just as it is in nigeria at the moment. Many nigerians are washing cars, working as factory hands, working as cleaners etc They do these in a foreign land with an MSc. If one can be so humble to do this, then why not in your home country?
Lemme close by saying this, majority of nigerians who go overseas for studies intend to remain and work post-study. Please research your options carefully, there is no where in the world that people pick gold bars on the streets. The guy that say i should research, no p, i have and i can tell u that while u remain in canada sweeping malls, ur peers will buy lands and build houses here in naija, afterall u only earn just enough for taxes and upkeep in those small jobs overseas. It's definitely easier for nigerians to make it in nigeria cos no man will starve his citizen of employment and hire a foreigner. It's that simple. I know of people who after living in the Uk for 30years are barely getting along, no property to show, all they have is a red passport. Is that success. A guy in Canada confirmed on nairaland that one of his colleagues that got back after studies has now bought a car worth #6million and has a house of his own, but they over there are just surviving. See, if you are not a very brilliant student just like in nigeria again, getting a graduate job will be a struggle abroad as in naija. Don't get me wrong, things are hard here too, but i still insist that it's easier for nigerians to make it here than anywhere else.

Obiwannn:
kokegbe, what then is she? yeah 8k eur ain't small money, but in the end, the means would be justified.
And who told u that if given the chance, many Nigerians studying in the UK wouldn't wanna remain after studies?
Justwise was painting a different picture, trying to make people scared of Deutschland by saying repeatedly that it was'nt free tuition, when in reality the reverse is the case.
Nigeria is the best place to make it in life for Nigerians. Any nigerian who struggles to make it here, will struggle to make it anywhere else. Quote me on that one. @Justwise came in cos people were saying education in germany is free, he made it clear that most schools are tuition free and then spelt out insurance money, 8k euros in blocked account, semester contributions etc......he was not bad mouthing german system at all, he didn't want people to be deceived, do you know the first time i heard of tuition free system i too thought i won't have to pay for anything..
