ekineme:
1.Preliminary investigation from the picture reveals expansion as the major cause of the crack, the heat this year is intense, they was no (Joint) provision made for expansion.
2. The underneath soil is expansive clay, which swells due to the rainy season hence the result you are seeing.

Recommendation:
The concrete should be partitioned leaving room for slight Earth movement ( this will prevent crack as a result of expansion of reinforced concrete as a result of extreme temperature and Earth movement)

Isn't that basic science?

Mr Biden should know that US is becoming more and more xenophobic as well with the likes of Donald trump who once threatened to deport immigrants back to their countries if elected president in 2016, the rise of white supremacists in US is worrisome.

If you have been to a country like India, you'd understand what Biden is saying. India will never allow a foreigner to work in the country even if you schooled there for many years.

christejames:
They are now selling everything sellable just to push up the falling naira? shocked shocked shocked

Tinubu go soon sell Eko Atlantic if he is not restrained.

This is not Tinubu or FGN selling. Rather, ExxonMobil sold most of their fields in Nigeria to Seplat over 2 years ago. The deal was initially approved by the Buhari presidency, but Buhari later reversed himself following pressure from NNPC. To know why ExxonMobil is selling, Google a country called Guyana. That's the new Nigeria for the oil majors. They have used and dumped Nigeria as the era of cheap and free oil is all gone. The sale is good for Nigeria as Seplat being a competent and strong operator will invest in increasing production from Asset.

Interesting. Do the civil servants also get paid for those days not at work? How do you ensure these civil servants are actually using those days for farm work that will improve food security? How many of these people actually have farms that would require days off? Our government always implementing half baked policies.

Why not implement a direct agricultural productivity policies specifically for farmers to boost production within the state.
Do not not mix the two work together. It’s either you’re a farmer or civil servant. Incentivize both vocations to get effective and efficient results.

Where is the farm land in Bayelsa?

Travel / Re: Price War: Ethiopian Airlines On Lagos -london Route Now Cheaper Than Air Peace by kolexy(m): 6:12am On Apr 08
Faiththatworks:
I'm perplexed and still in shock at what these airlines are doing.
I believe in capitalism,I believe that the customer is king and free to chose any options available to him/her but sincerely I wish Nigerians could boycott all these thieving, unpatriotic, profit taking and imbecilic foreign airlines and fly only Air Peace.
I say this because I know about the airline business, just 2 months ago,the cheapest tickets one way from Manchester to Lagos on ethopia airlines was close to 1 million naira when the Us dollar was close to 1400.
I remember the price for the tickets around 751$.
Suddenly from Lagos to London on these imbecilic airline is now 700000.
U wonder the amount of crazy profit these mad airlines milked our citizens for the last 1 year.
That's why I query the kind of huge losses some foreign companies operating in Nigeria were declaring last month,it's a terrible scam.
Nigerian should please support their own,let us stop this terrible habit of always bring our own down, this is the emotions these foreigners play on to totally suck us dry.
I stand with Air Peace and all other Indigenous owned Businesses all over Nigeria, who have put Patriotism above Profit.
God bless Nigeria.

I understand your sentiments, but the same thing would happen if you boycott other airlines leaving only Air Peace. The solution is for Nigerians to have multiple choices, especially Nigerian owned Airlines.

That would be Ewedu.. (No disrespect to my SW brothers and sisters)

My ex so over hyped it any time we talk on the phone... So, I decided to try it out. She invited me to their house so I can confirm the hype.

Her mom has already prepared it before my coming, so it was straight to the dinning table.

Amala was very smooth, as it slides it's way down my throat, but the soup, just didn't see the hype. Na the many meat wey surround the soup I just deal with.

But their “Ewa Goyin” is world class and deserves all the hype

There is nothing special about ewedu. It is the combination of ewedu, gbegiri and nicely prepared stew that is glorious. Ewedu is just one play soup, though it is highly medicinal.

Which investors? Our Nigerian brothers and sisters that bought assets from Shell and the likes have refused to make the required investment, partly due to the large scale crude theft.

Let me get something. They will be transporting the gas from Rivers/Edo to the North abi?... Anyway, that's not my issue.... The govt should just hands off on anything related to gas. They should privatize them after much scrutiny. They keep some percentages in all the companies.... The govt can't do anything good.... $700m would've been used for something good

The government is only providing the infrastructure required to transport gas produced by Oil companies. Nobody will make that investment if the government does not.

I encourage those pained by this epochal milestone to drop the hate, congratulate Abia people and demand for such project from their respective governors. If Abia can do it, any other state can equally replicate it.

What has Alex Otti got to do with Geometric Project that has been under construction for more than 10 years.

What do you mean by 'top 6 important positions in the country'?

On your claim that the SW only had '1 full Minister' under Jonathan and the rest were Ministers of State, why are you guys such terrible liars? Why do you always think you can deceive and mislead all Nigerians with lies and propaganda?

The following are list of Minsters from SW under Jonathan:

Minister of Trade and Investment - Olusegun O. Aganga (Lagos)

Police Affairs - Caleb Olubolade (Ekiti)

Communication Technology - Mrs. Omobola Johnson (Ondo)

Foreign Affairs - Olugbenga Ashiru (Ogun)

You guys should stop defending Tinubu's one-sided, nepotistic appointments with lies about how previous governments started it. It makes you look stupid and devoid of conscience. Even Buhari didn't display the level of nepotism displayed by Tinubu.

I didn't mention Tinubu in my post. I'm happy you mentioned Olusegun Aganga. The Edo man that Jonathan used to occupy Lagos slot.

May his soul rest in peace and condolence to the bereaved family

Jonathan's Chief of Staff was the former Edo State Deputy Governor, Mike Oghiadome. He brought in Gen Arogbofa to appease South Westerners in preparation for the 2015 election. Recal there was no Yoruba man or woman amongst top 6 important positions in the country. In addition the SW only had 1 full Minister (Akinwunmi Adesina), the rest were Minister for State.

flexyrule:
My friend shut up!

Yoruba dominate because most banking businesses are owned by the Yorubas and their HQs are in Lagos.

There is so much internal politics in banking, and it's beyond this beer parlour argument you're raising here.

Now learn!

Banks owned by the Hausa would have more of Hausas/Muslims as staff, eg Taj Bank, Jaiz Bank, Unity Bank Plc.. And would most likely have a Hausa as the MD.

Same with Igbo... Same with the Yoruba..

The only bank that that is owned by someone from a fire T ethnic group and is dominated by other tribes is Access Bank Plc.

Now how does Lagos favour these chaps....?

When the HQ is in Lagos, recruitment starts there, appraisal and promotion is done there, top management staff mostly work out of the HQ.

It's even worse than that... Read...

Do you even know that, most branches would wait for plain paper, biro, ink, etc to be airlifted from Lagos for branches in other regions despite the fact that these items can be sourced locally?

There are even instances where ATM engineers, Time Stamping Machines technicians, Vault Maintenance technicians etc are flown in from Lagos to repair and maintain banks equipment.

Even official vehicles are registered in Lagos, before moved to other regions for use.

It's the Lagos politics!

And that's the same reason Mobil is dominated by the Yoruba.

Yes. They have their operational Base in Akwa Ibom, and HQ in Lagos.

You are wrong my friend. Igbos and Southern groups now control more Banks than Yorubas

I agree with your point about some well known business leaders being government made. However, someone like Otedola has never traded in crude oil. He made money from importing and distribution of refined products..

How any people work in Equinor? Equinor is a non-operating member of the Chevron Agbami JV. They are not likely to have more than 10 Nigerian staffs. Whereas Chappal is a new Nigerian company that would try to become operator of an asset. This will definitely require more staffs.

[quote author=Omoawoke post=127245300]See Yorubas doing things

This is no doubt, the most successful women across Africa are Yoruba women. Not Nigeria but Africa.

Do you know why?

It is the culture of respect given to women by Yorubas. Since the beginning of time, Yorubas value their women and have their women leadership roles, women are keepers of the shrine, and even yoruba goddesses are well respected.
Women were given leadership roles in government such is Iyaloja.
Women are not seen as just baby factories unlike some other traditions
Yoruba recognition of goddesses like Yemoja, Osun shows the way we value women.

No wonder the African richest woman is a Yoruba woman

Some people are so envious of this and did not know Rome wasn’t built in a day, they are so bitter they started to hate what they can’t have and started the stupid hate speech “that their own mothers are dirty” e no go better for all of them[/quote

Tariye is an ijaw name. She is likely an Ijaw woman married to a Yoruba man.
