TheLoneCitizen: The last sentence is a banker.
Drogba's success overshadowed by Mourinho. Salah's success overshadowed by Klopp. Haaland's success overshadowed by Pep.
Osimhen is going to Chelsea as a king, no blockbuster manager to contend with. His ceiling is mega high.
Add to that, he's one of the most consistent players at national level. Scoring just one goal 🥅 in the AFCON is not a hallmark of consistency. |

Toney is seen as a plan B if Osimhen doesn’t mk the move to Stamford bridge

benji93: Sorry for the late reply. If your definition of tribalism in this context is related to "a tendency to lean towards one player or another based on their tribe in Nigeria" then I would say I don't remember any of your opinions that fit this description. Of course, there's the long-standing sentiment that you lean toward English-born players. This sentiment is fair though, as there's history to back it up. It is also not an unreasonable bias on your part if you currently reside in the UK or have done so. I mean anyone would be more aware of their immediate environment. There are other reasons I think you have been doing this though.
However, I maintain that tribalism is not a bad thing, and shouldn't be painted as such, but I get the irony it creates in the Nigerian context. I have been involved in British football ⚽ but more so English football ⚽. I go to lots of games including youth games primarily in England but across Europe as well. I've known players from the age of 9/10 who are in the EPL now . I am much more talking about player's I've watched up close and personal, even know personally as well knowong their coaches and agents. I would call that knowledge not bias or leaning towards. And that knowledge is primarily in regards to players in England. Finally I never left Nigeria 🇳🇬 I came to Nigeria, born in the UK but made in Warri . Oh yes still reside in England but will be in Nigeria next month, unless this monkey 🐒 pox thing get out of hand . Then there may be restrictions put on travel 🧳 to sub Saharan Africa |

charlesemeka85: Toney is among the options Chelsea are looking at if Osimhen’s deal doesn’t go through
Their number 1 target is Osimhen Dude 😎 that's an assumption look at commentary by pundits. First thing said about Toney is he is tried, tested and proven in the EPL. So you know exactly what you are getting. In addition Toney plays a very good link 🔗 up game. VO is where the EPL concerned a risk he has had only one outstanding season in his football ⚽ career with great potential to go further. Chelsea are talking to both VO and Toney . Although Toney is also talking to Manchester United. Nonetheless, Napoli want to cash in on VO they don't need Lukaku and VO at the same time. I think Napoli are just posturing and are desperate to sell VO, and VO is not ready to drop his wages. It's interesting and highly unpredictable let's see 🙈 what happens.

Ighalo was the highest goal scorer in the AFCON when he last played we then kicked🦵🏿 him out and forgot him. Essentially because he is in the Saudi league many of you here said. Now look at the hypocrisy and bigoted double standard, you still want VO even if he plays in the Saudi league. So after these, I don't think you were right saying Lukaku is on par with Osimhen when it comes to speed.
Finito. You are completely deviating from the substantive proven assertion which I made. Which was VO could not have been the 3rd fastest player in Europe when he cannot make the top 15 in the English Premier League. You then bring in the comparison of Lukaku with VO and imply Lukaku is slower. But you just created that assertion from your mind nothing to substantiate. VO fastest speed is just over 35km proven and establish do you agree. Well at Manchester United Lukaku did 36km/h plus.

Osimhen, who is the Serie A top scorer this season, also clocked 35.88km/h against Inter Milan and 35.45km/h against Salernitana, putting him second and fourth respectively on the list of speed demons in the Italian topflight this season.

That is the catch. Osimhen can comfortably be a consistent 25 league goals a season striker. I am not 🚫 considering the why , if and or possible. Just how it stands the bare faced statistics no addition or subtraction. Forget your sentiments and preferences. 😲 |

Philosopher1979: Lukaku cannot bench osimhen . Osimhen will be a good support striker or wing forward. His non goal scoring attributes are very impressive. It is his ability to disorganised a defence that is one of his most underrated strength. He us reminiscent of strikers like amokachi. Drogba, Emily husky who wear down defenders for others to score. Kukaju definitely can't bench him. Lukaku lacks his energy and mobility. The season is too long. Let it be 2 nil down in a match snd there will be calls for osimhen Put Lukaku in the same structure as VO as a quintessential number 9 with him being the focus of attention. And there will be problems who to choose. Is VO faster than Lukaku probably on par , who is stronger definitely Lukaku, who is more technically astute Lukaku shades it. Who has better Finishing all round to me Lukaku, aerial ability I think VO. ALL round team play for me Lukaku with a better passing range. Who is more aggressive and farbbetter work rate for me VO. Who wins only time will tell 😊 |

TheSuperNerd: I think if all goes well, Osimhen to the Saudi League for just one season won't be bad at all (if no European team can bag him this window).
Infact, he will earn the top wages he demands, bang goals... and have a clause inserted for immediate return to Europe the following season. He will be 26 then on his European Big 5 league return and would only turn 27 midway through the 25/26 European season.
This could set him up nicely for a battle over his signature to rage on with him having to pick now.
But then... I only approve of this strategy if no team in the Euro Big 5 can match Napoli's valuation of him AND MORE IMPORTANTLY SINCE LUKAKU IS JOINING NAPOLI AND CONTE HAS NO PLANS FOR OSIMHEN.
Conclusion: I would rather Osimhen plays one season in Saudi Arabia earning BIG BIG BIG BUCKS and return to Europe with an easy release clause than to rot in the stands at Napoli. What if he doesn't score more goals than Ighalo in the Saudi league ❓ Will we drop him and recall Victor Ighalo ❓ |

Starboytwo: I'd like to know how much halland, Mbappe, Kane commands weekly, I believe Osimhen should not be far off from the aforementioned trio.
Since Nunez is no more a striker but a quintessential winger, so it's only right you pay the money for a quintessential striker. A striker that will BANG it.
Im not worried at all about the protracted transfer. We are not begging, you need the Goals you gotta pay the quintessential wages. VO is very far off from the above mentioned players and may NEVER get to the level 🎚️ these three players have got to. They are consistently world class players over several seasons in their leagues. Kane just destroyed the Bundesliga 32 games 36 goals last season that's CRAZY. Mbappe and Haaland since teenage years have been hitting crazy goal figures. VO has only scored more than 20 league goals once in his entire football ⚽ career and that was 2022/23 were he got the golden boot with 26 goals in Seria A. Prior to 2022/23 Seria A season, VO has never scored more than 15 goals in a season in all the leagues he has played. Is that what your call world class pedigree ❓I would say potentially world 🌎 class but not there yet 😞 Nunez is a striker that has had to adapt to playing as an inverted striker winger in Liverpool. He simply struggles he is more technically astute than VO but still struggled. VO has always been the focus of attention the head 🗣️ of the diamond 💎 as a quintessential number 9 striker everywhere he has played. If he goes to any of these clubs he will not be the "Star boy" focus of attention where the team is structured around him. And you think 🤔 he will just BANG IT. VO played in the AFCON and scored one goal 🥅 he played against Liverpool over two legs and he got bullied and out sprinted and out muscled 💪🏿 by Konate and Van Dyke. That should tell you something about the EPL . I think his best bet is PSG not going to be easy because he is nowhere near as good as Mbappe. But he will do enough I hope to satisfy the huge transfer fee. |

You see the way Jackson was subbed off, you can't do that with a marquee striker.

You are being overly emotional again and cannot see for your blinded fanaticism you are a true Fan. No objectivity just sentiment. Nunez, Anthony, Mudryk are not quintessential number 9's and expectations were not as high. Nonetheless, they all came from less competitive league than the EPL with huge expectations and the flopped badly 😮. You said EPL defenders are rubbish therefore anytime he plays he should score and therefore be at least in the top three top goal 🥅 scorers. Many here think he is better than Haaland so he shouldn't score less than 25. That implies that VO record against EPL clubs is unquestionably outstanding. |
