Christianity EtcDivine Enablement And Diligence by kpakpandoN(op): 7:47am On Jun 28, 2020
Many people think they can succeed by their strength but this always leads to failure in their life's pursuits. Psalm 127:1-5 is directly passing an eternal truth to us, that God is the secret of our prosperity.
The Bible says further:
“But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy father, as it is this day.”
Deuteronomy 8:18

Looking through the lives of Biblical heroes, you would find some human frailty in each, like the ‘perfect’ Noah who became drunk to the point of casting a curse upon his own child.

Our Lord Jesus Christ said in John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me".

It is equally written that the Holy Spirit assigns and empowers us to perform some specific assignments (1st Corinthians 12:6).

However, we must not be lazy under the guise that it is God who will work through us. While it is true that He works in us, we must be diligent and obsessed with soul winning no matter what it may cost. The Holy Spirit crowned Paul’s efforts with success by granting him divine enablement but we must also note that he was very diligent and obsessed with soul winning. Diligence encapsulates executing your assignments with care, consistence, and vigour and at the right time. Obsession is an excessive devotion to someone or something, to the point of personal loss, injury, or death. Obsession made Paul go as far as he did, teaching his children-in-the-Lord to do likewise. To Timothy he wrote:

“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.”
2nd Timothy 4:2

I pray that the Almighty God will grant you the enablement to achieve His purpose for your life in the matchless name of Jesus.

Christianity EtcYour Prayer Request Reveals The Real You! by kpakpandoN(op): 10:56am On Jun 27, 2020
Prayer is a special medium, a divine frequency by which Christians communicate with God. It is also a very powerful weapon of spiritual warfare. Prayer is well recognised as a means of walking with the Almighty God. Meanwhile, walking is a kind of journey, and while there are many kinds, there is none more blessed and productive than a prayer journey. Simple prayer offered by individuals or groups of people were responsible for many of the great miracles and moves of God in different parts of the world as seen in history.

1 Kings 2:13-24 shows that we could desire something even to the point of killing for it. However, fighting a war does not guarantee our getting what we desire; the only guarantee is prayer.

Access to prayer request of individuals may betray their innermost desires. Lusts, and personal ambitions. Every Christians must critically watch and tailor his/her prayer request in line with the word of God. According to the James 4:3 also, one major reason for unanswered prayer is the basis of human lusts.
“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:” 1st John 5:14

Today, the fruit and gifts of the Spirit are only evident in the lives of very few Christians, though not living a sinful life, are cold and operating far below Heaven’s expectations for various reasons. We need a revival in the Church, from the very top to the least member! I pray that God will revive His Church again, break through our self-centred daily routines, and fill us with the fire of revival as of old, in the mighty name of Jesus.

What do your prayer requests reveal of you?

Christianity EtcYou Must Be Significantly Relevant by kpakpandoN(op): 10:34am On Jun 26, 2020
Everyone from the beginning of the creation has openly or secretly desired to be significantly relevant within their family or society. The serpent’s offer to Eve had the undertone of increased relevance, King Saul sought to kill David because the women sang that the young boy’s victory was greater than his.

To be significantly relevant is highly desirable; indeed, it is our God-given right. However, the pursuit for relevance has pushed many – Christians inclusive, into sinful, criminal and even diabolical acts. Psalm 75:6-7 says:
“For promotion cometh neither from the east, Nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: He putteth down one, and setteth up another.”

In my opinion, the Church is not in short supply of Christian workers but rather, has a dearth of faithful labourers. I have always told my children in the ministry that “When you do the work of God the way it should be done, what you will eat will not be a prayer point.” This is because God is committed to the business of those who are in turn committed to His. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). If you want to be significantly relevant in life, ministry or both, just make up your mind to serve Him faithfully, and your promotion will come sooner than you can imagine.

As a faithful steward in the vineyard, you have to be focused on your own mandate and never use another man’s parameters to evaluate your life or service to God. To be focused is to have a target and to work towards actualising it. the business of God requires urgency. John 9:4 says “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” The Lord will reward your labour of love in His vineyard, make you significantly relevant in this world and also compensate you handsomely in eternity.

Christianity EtcThirst For The Holy Spirit by kpakpandoN(op): 1:23pm On Jun 25, 2020
Revival comes through total obedience to the word of God. This is why the Bible admonishes us to preach the word and spread the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ as a matter of urgency.

However, Christians should wait to be sent forth and must never go alone, that is, without the Holy Spirit. Luke 24:49 says:
“And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.”

Romans 10:17 says “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” At the hearing of the word of God, the corrupt and sinful mind immediately begins to do a self-analysis, followed by personal conviction and repentance. Romans 10:14 says “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?” However, all these will not yield the desired results unless the work is accompanied by the power of the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:8 says
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem. And in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

As we strive to populate the Church building, we must remember our greater duty to prepare the people of God for heaven through the correct and unbiased teaching of the word of God. As you make up your mind to live in obedience to His word and take every opportunity to share the Gospel with at least one person daily, do not go without the Holy Spirit. every Christian needs the help of the Holy Spirit to fulfil the will of God for his/her life. As you earnestly seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit, prayers will be answered, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Christianity EtcThe Blessing Of The Birthright by kpakpandoN(op): 6:07am On Jun 24, 2020
Galatians 4:7 says “Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ” and Romans 8:15 says “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” These Bible verses confirm that Christians are children of God who have received the birthright of sonship by grace, not merit. I pray that the grace of Abba Father will always work in your favour in the mighty name of Jesus.

The first privilege we enjoy as children of God is that we move from the position of servants to that of children and heirs. Thus we must have a passion for evangelism especially for those who believe they are self-made slaves of sin after the fall of Adam. God did not create his image-carrier – man, for the purpose of making a slave out of him. Galatians 4:6-7 says:
“And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”

In the story of the Syrophoenician woman in Romans 8:16-26, Jesus Christ likened her to a dog and she did not refuse it. This is because the verdict was from the Way, the Truth and the Life; He speaks with valid spiritual authority. Liberal theologians who want to be 21st Century compliant would want to re-write the Bible to make it ‘politically correct.’ Some things, while politically correct, can be spiritually bankrupt.

Beloved, to become a part of the family of God, you need to be born again by your faith in Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:26). Let Him cleanse you in His blood. The food of salvation, deliverance, healing and prosperity meant for children of God will now become yours in the name of Jesus. If you are born again already, spread the good news!

Christianity EtcThe Bigger Your Vision, The Greater Your Exploits by kpakpandoN(op): 7:05am On Jun 23, 2020
The anointing makes the difference between two weapons of warfare: the anointed one and the ordinary. David confirms this in Psalm 20:7-8: “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.”

Beloved, regardless of how feeble your instrument of office or weapon of warfare may appear, you will do great exploits with it provided you identify with the Anointed of the Almighty – Jesus Christ. Accept, follow and obey His commandments today, and you will be victorious in all you do in life.

Vision is so vital to doing exploits in life and usually has its origin in the spirit realm. Anyone with access to vision at any level is endowed with power to do exploits. That is why the bigger and clearer your vision, the greater your exploits.

It is important, by the help of the Holy Spirit, to be able to discern the times of your favour or else you may miss them completely. God is the revealer of secrets.
Romans 8:14 says:
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”

The Holy Spirit could decide to use any available means to communicate with you – revealing deep secrets and telling you of things to come. It could be through a dream, revelation, vision, or an audible voice. He could speak through a man of God at a programme, or He could send one to you directly. Apostle Peter fished all night without a single catch, but because he was sensitive enough spiritually to heed Jesus’ instruction, he received an overflow of blessings (Luke 5:6)

I decree to your life today: God will give you an overflowing blessing that will impact your family, friends, and neighbours for good, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Christianity EtcBaby Christians Need To Grow First by kpakpandoN(op): 8:01am On Jun 22, 2020
Today, we’re looking at young Christians – young by virtue of their level of maturity in Christ. Some people come to Christ and begin to nurse good desires, far beyond the capacity of their spiritual maturity e.g. immediately desiring the office of a pastor, evangelist or minister. While such desires are good, they are ill-timed for fresh converts.

The first responsibility of young believers after becoming born again is to desire the sincere milk of the word so that they may grow to maturity (1st Peter 2:2)

Physically speaking, when a baby desires to eat the same food as an adult, he/she desires what could be harmful. In a similar vein, when a young Christian desire to be a pastor or an evangelist overnight, it spells trouble that may hinder the growth of the individual.

Children being born into God’s family through the preaching of the gospel must take time to study the word of God and be well-grounded in it. 1st John 3:1 & 3 says:
“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we shall be called the sons of God: therefore, the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not… And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”

The dearth of the word of God is a menace against the present-day Church. We make a lot of noise in our preaching, without a strong basis in the word of God. I call such sermons “Thunder Without Rain.” Even when some believers yearn for the word, it is nowhere to be found on many of our pulpits. May the Lord elevate the ministry of the word in the body of Christ, in the mighty name of Jesus.

May we be found worthy if the trumpet should sound today, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Christianity EtcGod Of Impossibilities by kpakpandoN(op): 9:40am On Jun 21, 2020
God is a specialist in handling situations tagged impossible. He can use your case to demonstrate to the world that there is no situation, no matter how bad that He cannot reverse. Have you been waiting a long time for that precious promise of God to come to pass? Your season of divine visitation has come in the mighty name of Jesus.

Sarah-Abraham’s wife, laughed at the prophecy of her having a baby within a year. She knew her age and the deadness of her husband’s fertility system. Indeed, God had to ask them:

“Is anything too hard for the Lord?”
Genesis 18:14

For those of you who are overwhelmed by the doctor’s report concerning your case, I am here to let you know that the report of the Lord will override every negative report concerning you in the mighty name of Jesus.

Lazarus was dead and buried; his grave must have started to stink, yet the Lord moved into that hopeless situation and reversed the irreversible (John 11:1-45).

Are you struggling with poverty? Have you been labelled a permanent failure? Have you been told that at your age, there is no miracle that can cause you to receive your heart’s desire? If God sees that your season is naturally over, He reminds the world that He changes times and seasons (Daniel 2:21). If the world boasts that they have finished your case, He reminds them that He knows what is in the darkness (Daniel 2:22). I pray for an expedited reversal of every negative circumstance in your life today.

The Christian life is no ordinary natural existence; it is supernatural. It takes supernatural power to reverse the irreversible and move the immovable. This season, you will encounter the supernatural power of God, to the point where whatever was irreversible will be reversed, and whatever was immovable will be moved in your favour, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Christianity EtcRefuse To Be Intimidated! by kpakpandoN(op): 9:11am On Jun 20, 2020
Are you intimidated by your current circumstances? Do you have desires that seem impossible to achieve? You have to refuse to be intimidated. My God will work out a solution that will bring you to your desired destination in the mighty name of Jesus.

The kind of faith that tackles intimidation brings into manifestation the miracle-working power of God Exodus 14:13 says:
“And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.”

There will always be intimidating and doubtful situations, but we must continue to suppress the doubts with strong faith in God. This is where faith that thrives in the face of intimidation comes in.

Like the children of Israel, the modern-day believers are afraid of stepping into their glorious destines because of unbelief.

In Mark 3:1-5, the Bible records that Jesus asked a man in a synagogue to stretch forth his hand, knowing full well that it was withered. If that man had refused to act in great faith, he would have missed his miracles.

The demonstration of great faith produces the supernatural. One of my daughters-in-the-Lord was told by her doctor that her womb was too small to nature a child to the point of delivery. God however decided to show the doctor and my daughter that He is the Doctor of all doctors and can overrule any report. The same womb the doctor had said could not nurture a child gave birth to four children the same day. It is only in Jesus that such compelling events can happen. This is why you need to come to Jesus and accept Him as your personal Lord and Saviour. An end has come to your troubles today in the mighty name of Jesus.

Christianity EtcHunger And Thirst For Righteousness by kpakpandoN(op): 8:40am On Jun 19, 2020
You can always identify someone who is hungry for righteousness because his/her disposition will reflect their area of interest - godliness. Joseph was a classic example of someone who was hungry and thirsty for righteousness. He loved and feared the Lord. Even when sexual immorality was presented to him on a platter with attendant benefits, he vehemently refused and said in Genesis 39:9 “…how can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”

Daniel was another classic example of someone who was both hungry and thirsty for righteousness. The Bible reveals in Daniel 1:8 that, though under no obligation to live like a Rabbi, Daniel however felt no compulsion for self-indulgence like his Chaldean school mates. It was on account of his thirst for righteousness that he determined not to be defiled in a strange land. Some people live careless lives when they are away from home. Some who had vowed never to touch alcohol start drinking in the name of cold weather. When some return from temperate regions, they move around virtually naked citing the hot weather as an excuse.

The problem with such people is not the environment; it is the fact that they do not consider God worthy of their sacrifice of holiness. Such people miss the rewards of righteousness, one of which is the spirit of excellence. The Bible says “Thou hast loved righteousness and hated iniquity; therefore, God even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows” (Hebrews 1:9). This is excellence in action. Those who live righteously do not live in condemnation according to Romans 8:1 which says “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”

God is ready to grant all of your heart desires if only you would first seek His righteousness (Matthew 6:33).

Christianity EtcAntidote For Fruitlessness by kpakpandoN(op): 9:06am On Jun 18, 2020
Many use the words barrenness and fruitfulness interchangeably, but there are marked differences between the two. Barrenness is the inability to bear fruit as a result of challenges that may be unknown to the victim and beyond his/her power to surmount. The solution to barrenness is ultimately in the hand of God. Fruitfulness is failure to bear fruit under normal circumstances, sometimes due to un-cleanliness and sickness.

Our Lord Jesus Christ said that anyone not bearing fruit would be taken away. You will not be taken away from your place in the mighty name of Jesus.

Luke 13:6-9 amplifies the fruit-bearing responsibilities of children of God. The vinedresser in that parable is none other than Jesus the compassionate advocate, pleading on behalf of fruitless tress in the vineyard of God which is the world. I pray that all your efforts will not end up in fruitlessness in the mighty name of Jesus.

Are you bearing fruit? If so, what type? A sinner must bear fruit meet for repentance according to Matthew 3:8. For believers, we must win souls into the Kingdom thus fulfilling the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20. For believers more importantly, we must bear the fruit of the Spirit as documented in Galatians 5:22-23 which says:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

Draw a soul-winning plan for yourself and your family and sincerely follow it through. Also, pray that the souls you win will abide after the conversion.

Being fruitful requires being genuinely born again and abiding in God. The Lord will give you the grace to bear much abiding fruit, in the mighty name of Jesus.
Christianity EtcSpiritual Intimacy by kpakpandoN(op): 7:12am On Jun 17, 2020
Knowing God is not the same as going to Church or even being born again. The knowledge of God is first made evident through love. If you love God, it will show in the way you live and even interact with others. God is calling us into an intimate relationship with Him which is preceded by growing in the knowledge of Him. If your life is in disagreement with God’s word, no matter how much you participate in Church activities or give offerings to God, you would not be acceptable to Him, and your services would be in vain.

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus…. Made himself of no reputation, ….. took upon him the form of a servant, …humbled himself, and became obedient unto death…”
Philippians 2:5-8

1st John 2:6 also says “He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.” Jesus Himself enjoins us to follow His example in all things.

An intimate relationship with Jesus would lead to selflessness, humility, service to humanity, and total obedience to God. When you live according to the standard of God, He will be pleased with all you have to offer. Do you know that you can come before God with generous offerings, yet stir up His anger? This is because the offering of an unrepentant sinner is an abomination before God (Proverbs 15:cool.

An intimate relationship with God would help you fashion your life very closely after the example of our Lord Jesus in all things. The knowledge of God must bring us to the point of wisdom and enlightenment far beyond the ordinary. Above all, the knowledge of Jesus must lead to overflowing joy and peace. I pray that your knowledge of Jesus will grow greatly this season in the mighty name of Jesus.

Christianity EtcPartakers Of His Suffering by kpakpandoN(op): 7:19am On Jun 16, 2020
When the departure time of our Lord Jesus drew near, He told His disciples such things as would befall them, so they would not be caught unawares. The fact that the disciples would suffer hatred was central to this particular discussion. John 15:20 says:
“Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.”

Jesus warned His disciples ahead that the world would hate them because it had hated Him first. Jesus suffered hatred in the form of defamation, misrepresentation, rejection, harassment, assault, abuse, crucifixion and finally, murder. In essence, Jesus made it clear that His disciples should be prepared to receive similar treatment from the people. This prophecy was not limited to those physically present with Him at that time, but applies to all who will come after Jesus and live as true disciples.

Christians are presently suffering untold hardship, insecurity, harassment, brutality, assault and murder in various parts of the world. Indeed, Jesus said that a time was coming when a person would kill a Christian and consider it a favour to God (John 16:2)

If you are a true child of God, you should be able to declare like Paul in Philippians 3:10 “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;” Romans 8:17 says “….If so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”

It is indeed a privilege to partake of the Lord’s suffering. No matter the hardship or persecution you are facing. Count it all joy (James 1:2-3)

May the Lord grant you the grace to overcome in times of persecution. The Kingdom of Heaven is for those who partake in His suffering. You will surely make it, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Christianity EtcEvidence Of A Divine Encounter by kpakpandoN(op): 7:25pm On Jun 15, 2020
God created every human with the potential and abilities to fulfil divine purpose. According to John 1:12; a very important part of God’s plan for every human being is to attain full son-ship. Now, son-ship starts from being born again then growing in the Spirit. This is where being with Jesus comes in. It is absolutely impossible for anyone to take this journey and exhibit Christ-like behaviour unless the person has been with Jesus. Acts 4:13 says;
“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.”

Knowing that Peter and John were ordinary fishermen, the people marvelled at their confidence, boldness and wisdom, realising it could only be the result of a divine encounter. A divine encounter is the special visitation of the Holy Spirit. Without an encounter with the power of the Spirit, you would live far below your potential.

To fulfil your destiny, you must partner with the Holy Spirit by seeking a divine encounter with him.

Peter realised his potential. Although initially full of fear, after Pentecost he became so bold that not even the council’s threats could stop him. He had originally lacked the fire, zeal and direction because after Christ’s death, he stopped fishing for souls and returned to being ordinary fisherman (John 21:1-3). However, after Pentecost, he was able to perform according to Heaven’s expectations. Like Peter, you need to encounter Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit, and everything you require to fulfil destiny will be provided in the mighty name of Jesus.

Make a habit of spending time with Jesus daily; it will determine how far you will go.

Christianity EtcThe King-servant by kpakpandoN(op): 8:14am On Jun 14, 2020
“I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:”
Psalm 89:20

One may think the passage should have read “I have found a king.” but it says: I have found a servant. God is looking for one who will be a king. Yet a servant. In other words, the route to true leadership in any area of life is service.

Amongst the Apostles, Paul was the most prominent. His handkerchiefs healed the sick and cast out demons (Acts 19:12). Yet, just after the shipwreck on the Island of Melita (Acts 28:1-10), it was he who went to fetch firewood for the people who were sitting around the fire. Today, if you ask a Bishop to do the same, he most likely would feel offended and say “Don’t you know who I am?”

The hands that cannot labour cannot heal the sick. If God will use you, you must step down from the exalted throne you placed yourself on and learn to serve.

When I became born again, I determined to do anything to serve God. One day, we needed to weed the Church headquarters. Although I was the most educated in the Church at the time, on the set date, I ensured I arrived first at the Church with my very sharp cutlasses to cut the grass. The hands that cut grass then, by God’s grace now heal the sick and raise the dead.

To lead is to serve. Those who will lead must consider themselves as less than the least. The lower you are, the higher your promotion. The higher you place yourself; the louder the sound of the crash (Luke 14:11)

David is regarded as the greatest King ever in Israel; he was however, also known for serving. The one time he stayed back during a war landed him in trouble. Incidentally, it all started from an exalted location in the Palace. Once he realised his mistake, he continued going to war until the people compelled him to stop. That is the kind of person God wants to empower.

Christianity EtcPower Over Sin by kpakpandoN(op): 4:01pm On Jun 13, 2020
Many Christian think the law (the Old Testament) is no longer of any effect and thus behave carelessly, claiming that, because they are born again, grace cover all their sins. Paul clarifies this in the following Scriptures;
“But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the Faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”
Galatians 3:23-26

The old covenant protected the people against temporal death, poverty, all forms of suffering and bondage but the new delivers eternally (Matthew 1:21; 26:28). Your ability to overcome sin is proof that you are a child of God. John the Beloved corroborated this when he said in 1st John 3:9 that “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.”

Are we really children of God? If we still wallow in sin, we remain in the old dispensation and the letter of the law will punish us here and in the afterlife.

The superiority of the new covenant over the old however is that, while the latter puts constraints to prevent sins, the new gives power over it. Romans 6:14 says: “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” We therefore have the assurance that grace will work for us. Romans 6:1 however caution that we cannot remain in sin, expecting grace to abound. Rather grace empowers us to conquer sin.

You do not have any excuse to abide in sin.

“Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, not wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. Ecclesiastes 9:10

While the Government of Nigeria was planning for the 1977 Festival of Arts and Culture (FESTAC), it occurred to me that, since it was going to be a public holiday, I could gather students to study the Bible pray and dance for Jesus instead.

I got the necessary information and approvals, then wrote letters to the schools. However, I did not have money to post the letters, not to mention feeding and accommodating the students, as I had promised. A friend had offered his savings of ₦4,000 but we still needed more, so I had to sell my car. That programme which started small is now known all over the world as the RCCG Congress. I was not even the General Overseer then, just a Christian who wanted to lift Jesus’ name above all else.

In 1998, a politician claimed he could gather two million people in a place. I thought: “If he can gather two million people for himself, we can gather four million people for God.” So, Lekki ’98 held and by God’s grace, over six million people attended, causing a great revival in Nigeria.

At another time, a popular brand announced its goal of having at least one consumer in every family of the world. I was challenged; I believed we could do that for God too. There could be at least one member of the RCCG in every family of the world. Today, the RCCG is in over 197 countries of the world.

As Christians, we must match and outwit every secular dream. No more timidity! Do everything to ensure that God’s name is praised above all others. If you make a move, God will do the rest. Do more for God always.

Christianity EtcHe Says: "Weep Not!" by kpakpandoN(op): 7:28am On Jun 12, 2020
Weeping is a natural response to sorrow and pain, which abound in the world today because the devil is busy stealing, killing and destroying lives and destinies. The good news however, is that our Lord Jesus Christ and He alone, has the power to wipe away and put an end to calamities and lost.

“And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her; and said unto her, Weep not.”
Luke 7:13

Jesus is saying to you also today “Weep not.”

There was a man who had lived in sorrow and pain for thirty-eight years because, according to him, he had no one to help him. When Jesus came to the scene, his problem was solved without any human assistance. No matter the number of years of suffering you may have experienced, the mighty God will attend to your situation right now in the mighty name of Jesus.

I want you to know that your moment of refreshing is around the corner. Don’t quit; the Almighty God will restore to you all that you have lost. In Job Chapter 1, there were reports upon report of all the disasters befalling everything Job had – including his children. However, the Bible tells us that the Almighty God blessed the latter days of Job more than the former (Job 42). I want you to rest assured that no matter how harsh the economic climate may be, the Almighty God will sort you out in the mighty name of Jesus.

There is also hope for nations. In 2nd Kings 7:1, the economy of Samaria was so bad, but the man of God prophesied that things would dramatically change for the better within twenty-four hours. Those who understood global economic said it was impossible, but the Almighty God performed His word. Weep not; the rain of God’s grace and mercy is about to fall in your life and nation, in the Mighty name of Jesus.

Christianity EtcThe Unchanging Christ by kpakpandoN(op): 9:27am On Jun 09, 2020
“For I am the Lord, I change not; Therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”
Malachi 3:6

The statement above was made by God the Father and is representative of the entire God-head.

We live in very dynamic times, and this could make the future frightening, but there is hope for those who have faith in the unchanging Christ, the Son of the Living God. Everything can change but God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit will never change; neither will His standards.

“And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass than one tittle of the law to fail.”
Luke 16:17

He said to those who are going into marriage “…Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery” (Mark 10:11-12). When the Pharisees attempted to justify divorce from the point of view of the law of Moses, Jesus said: “Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female.. Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so” (Matthew 19:4,cool.

Whoever decides to flout this divine arrangement does so to his or her own peril; even though the consequences may not be immediate. Ruben slept with his stepmother but the consequence surfaced after many decades when he should have received blessings from his father (Genesis 49:4)

May those things that we regard as inconsequential not prevent us from entering into the Kingdom of God in the mighty name of Jesus. God’s standard does not change. Remember, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Hebrew 13:cool.

Christianity EtcEnd-time Reformers by kpakpandoN(op): 9:36am On Jun 08, 2020
At various times in history, whenever the people of God appeared to have lost their spiritual antennae, God would usually raise a reformer to start off a revival. In biblical terms, a reformer is a person ordained by God to carry out correctional changes in order to rectify ungodly practices. May we yield ourselves to be used as reformers to ignite the fire of revival in the body of Christ in the mighty name of Jesus.

Reformers include Josiah, Asa, and Hezekiah – kings who ruled over Israel at different times in history, as well as prophets Ezekiel, Ezra, Nehemiah and John the Baptist to mention a few. The reformation of Asa – king of Judah is summarised in 1st Kings 15:12-13 thus:
“And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his father’s had made. And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.”

True Christian who once pledged allegiance to God could afterwards turn back to live contrary to their avowed beliefs and declaration of faith. Some people come to accept Jesus at the peak of their hopeless situations only to abandon Him after receiving divine solutions to their problems. The Church is currently in a state of regression; many Christians are no longer living according to God’s word but rather, the standard of the world.

We the children of God must be reformers – people who would do the right thing no matter the cost. We must be people who will instruct fledgling and backslidden Christians, as well as unbelievers, to completely obey the word of God at all times. God is seeking reformers; are you one?

Christianity EtcGates Of Adversity Must Be Lifted by kpakpandoN(op): 11:22am On Jun 07, 2020
Gates of adversity are seemingly insurmountable obstacles – be it an individual, kingdom or situation, obstructing the progress of a person or group of people.

Biblical examples of gates of adversity include Pharaoh with the Egyptian army, the wall of Jericho and Goliath the Philistine. Situations representative of gates of adversity include mountains, poverty, sickness, slavery, captivity, siege, and barrenness. Those who are held bound by such gates would therefore find it extremely difficult to succeed in life. These conditions have consistently proven insurmountable by human effort, but Mark 10:27 says “…With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.”

God’s purpose for mankind is seen in Genesis 1:28 where God command us to “…Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion….” Manifestations of contrary circumstances in life are abnormalities usually brought about by sin and hidden works of the devil.

“Lift up your heads, O ye gates; And be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; And the King of glory shall come in.”
Psalm 24:7

My Daddy – the creator of heaven and earth, the Almighty, can destroy every gate of adversity. Zechariah 4:7 says, “Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain…” Isaiah 10:27 also says” …And the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”

Are you troubled by any gate of adversity? If you haven’t accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, do so now. If you are born again, then commit by serving God for the rest of your life and He will fight for you. I command every gate of adversity in your life to be destroyed now in the mighty name of Jesus.

Christianity EtcBaby King? by kpakpandoN(op): 7:51am On Jun 06, 2020
In the previous study, the father was rightly described as the priest of the home. He is however, also the king of the home. What a father does will have an effect on every member of his family. As a father, you cannot afford to act like a child. From Ecclesiastes 10:16, we see that it is the family that would suffer for the childishness of their king (the father).

Remember that everything you do is an example for your children. When you drink or send your son to buy you cigarettes, you are already introducing him to that lifestyle. When your children see you having an affair with a strange woman, you are sowing a terrible seed in their hearts. The way you talk to their mother is probably how your sons will talk to their wives too. The low self-esteem of their mother due to how you treat her will probably become the self-esteem of your daughters too.

As mentioned earlier, you are the priest of the home; when the priest is spiritually asleep, God help that home! There are some demonic issues that a father need only issue a command for them to disappear, but if he is a spiritual baby, such issues would linger. As a father, how often do you pray for and on your children? Are you deliberate about teaching them the word of God?

Another reason for you to watch your spiritual life is that children could reap the harvest of the spiritual seeds their fathers have sown. In 1st 11:34, God softened Solomon’s punishment for misbehaving because of David his father.

“Howbeit I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand: but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant’s sake whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my status.”

Jonathan on the other hand was a good boy, but he partook in the punishment of his father and died a shameful death. I pity any child who has a baby as a father and I pray that God will rescue such children from any danger that their father’s ignorance or ‘childishness’ can cause them in the mighty name of Jesus.

Christianity EtcMarriage: Christ's Example II by kpakpandoN(op): 5:52am On Jun 05, 2020
Christ has an undying love for the Church. Since His relationship with the Church is our model, let me ask: Brother, do you love your wife enough to die for her?

If a husband loves his wife genuinely, a lot of the usual problems they complain about would be avoided. As a man, you should not buy new shirts for yourself and ‘forget’ to get for your wife; that may just show how little you love her. 2nd Corinthians 8:9 says Jesus became poor so that we can be rich. She should be your priority, looking better and more radiant than you. This is one thing I admire about men from the Igbo ethnic group of Nigeria. They take very good care of their wives. While the man may do just singlet and shorts, his wife would be arrayed in the latest fashion.

Some men find it difficult to spend time with their wives. If you really love someone, you should spend time with the person. Jesus said if you call Him at any time, He would answer (Jeremiah 33:3). That is how you should be with your wife; anytime she needs you, you should be there. You are the priest of the home just as Jesus is the Church’s high priest.

When you express your love for your wife, she will cook better meals for you, and look more radiant, more beautiful for you.

“…He that loveth his wife loveth himself.”
Ephesians 5:28

From the experience of Job, we see that a man’s wife is his life. God told Satan that he could touch all that Job has except his life. Satan killed Job’s children, destroyed all his property, inflicted his flesh with sicknesses and diseases, but did not touch his wife. She was unscathed because God had said “Don’t touch Job’s life”; and since they were one, his life was hers and hers was his. Whatever you do to your wife, you are actually doing to yourself.

She should be loved, protected, nourished and cherished greatly because your life depends on it. God is taking note! If you don’t believe, read Malachi 2:12-14. Don’t cheat yourself.

Christianity EtcMarriage: Christ's Example 1 by kpakpandoN(op): 8:37am On Jun 04, 2020
“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”
Genesis 2:24

“This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.”
Ephesians 5:32

The union of a man and woman in marriage is a mystery because it conceals, as in a parable, a truth about Christ and the Church.

The divine reality in the concept of marriage is that God ordained a permanent union between His Son and the Church. Marriage between a man and a woman is the earthly representation of this divine plan. As God willed for Christ and the Church to become one body (Galatians 3:28; 1st Corinthians 12:13), so He desires for marriage to reflect this pattern.

Husbands and wives should consciously copy God’s model for the relationship between Christ and the Church. Some essentials of this divine model are as follows:

First, the Church is to be led by Christ as the woman is to be led by her husband. The responsibility of the man is to see the vision for the family and that of the woman is to submit to the leadership of her husband as they work together to fulfil it.

It is also the responsibility of Christ to provide while the Church puts the resources into use so as to achieve the joint goal. The man is to provide for the home; in fact, 1st Timothy 5:8 describes anyone who does not provide for his home as worse than an infidel, having rejected the faith. The woman on the other hand, is to use the resources provided by the man (While also supporting as much as she can) for the good of the home, not for buying frivolous jewellery or shoes, except where the man has provided specifically for that. The wife being a ‘help meet’ should however support the man as much as she can (Genesis 2:18, Ephesians 5:22).

If we could pattern our marriages according to the relationship between Christ and the Church, we would have many more fulfilling marriages today.

Christianity EtcBeware Of Strange Fire by kpakpandoN(op): 7:10am On Jun 03, 2020
In the physical realm, there are different types of fire used for varying constructive or destructive purposes.

This is also true in the spiritual realm where fire could be godly or ungodly, constructive or destructive. The Holy Spirit is the source of godly fire.

Samson tearing a lion apart in Judges 14:5-6 is a classic example of what you can do when the Spirit kindles godly fire inside you. When He kindles fire in you, supernatural power comes and you are able to over come your enemies. On the other hand, an ungodly fire produces a desire to perform acts (or an act) that negates God’s will and commandments. It destroys completely. It can also be an ungodly act in itself as we see in the case of Nadab and Abihu who died because they offered strange fire before the Lord.

“And Nadab and Abihu died, when they offered strange fire before the Lord.” Numbers 26:61

This ungodly fire made Samson go after strange women. It destroyed him. Some years ago, one of my spiritual sons was confronted with a strange fire of erotic emotions with his secretary. He sought spiritual counsel from me and I told him plainly to sack her immediately. He did and the strange fire was quenched. When you allow strange fire to glow, it will destroy. This is why the Lord wants you to beware of strange fire.

Strange fire could be unbiblical worship. For example, an intending couple should not spend nights together alone in the name of a prayer vigil. It is strange fire when a lady comes to minister at the altar with sensitive parts of her body exposed. A pastor that introduces the blood of animals as a means of anointing during deliverance services is also dealing in strange fire. It destroys. Read the Bible and cross check your life today for any such appearance. If there is, put it out from the source immediately.

Christianity EtcThe Word Delivers! by kpakpandoN(op): 9:03am On Jun 02, 2020
“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”
Genesis 1:3

There is power in God’s word. By it, He created the universe and still does wonders today. In Matthew 8:5-13, Jesus had wanted to visit the home of a Centurion to heal his servant but was surprised when the Centurion asked Him to “speak the word only” (Matthew 8:8-10). Jesus spoke and the servant was indeed healed (Matthew 8:13). This was a fulfilment of the prophecy” “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction” (Psalm 107:20).

A lot of people keep searching for deliverance, yet they disregard the most potent weapon – the word of God. For example, God’s word came to Cain but he ignored it. The word was meant to warn him, to deliver him from the possible error and subsequent sorrow and perdition, but he let the opportunity slip away through envy (Genesis 4:6-7).

Dear reader, the word of God is coming to you today; do not ignore it.

God’s word says “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41). What should you do? Obey, watch, and increase your prayer time so temptations will not sweep you away from the faith.

“For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace” (Romans 6:14). Believe the word and you will be free from sin permanently.

Philippians 4:19 says “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” If you believe, poverty shall become history in your life. If you are sick, 1st Peter 2:24 says by Christ’s stripes, we have been healed. Beloved, as you believe the Word today, you will experience a positive turnaround in the mighty name of Jesus.

Christianity EtcLike Begets Like by kpakpandoN(op): 6:24am On Jun 01, 2020
After God created the heavens and the earth, He established some laws and principles to guide their operations and determine the course of everything in creation. Some of these laws are stated specifically in the Bible while some are implied.

Humanity, has identified some of these laws and has captured many of them as adages and proverbs such as: ‘Whatever goes up must come down’, ‘The wages of sin is death’, ‘Whatever you sow, you shall reap’, ‘Givers never lack’, Like begets like’ and so on. These laws and principles are universal and quite consistent indeed, anything that goes up will surely come down, and like usually begets like in that children typically inherit the qualities and features of their ancestors. The principle is clearly defined in Matthew 7:17-18 as follows:
“Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.”

It is an established fact that a parent’s character is often replicated in his/her children. The Bible severally confirms his principles. However, this principle is not immutable because good fathers sometimes have bad children as seen in Eli’s case. And bad fathers may have good children. The Bible says God keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations (Deuteronomy 7:9).

All parents in general and Christian parents in particular should have a time of personal reflection today, to examine themselves and consider the implications of their behaviour and attitude on their children for generations to come. After this, they would need to make appropriate amendments. Live a life of total obedience to God from today, so your children can enjoy God’s blessings for generations to come (Psalm 112:1-2).

Christianity EtcDon't Lose Confidence In Christ by kpakpandoN(op): 8:51am On May 31, 2020
Losing trust in Christ’s ability to do anything and everything has several terrible spiritual implications. For example, If anyone loses confidence in the sufficiency of Christ regarding the atonement for sins, such a person could turn to idols for supplementary atonement.

A displeased Paul wrote to the church in Galatia “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain” (Galatians 2:21). They had apparently lost confidence in the grace that earned them salvation and had begun to resort to self-righteousness through religious activities.

Today, like the Galatian Church who considered keeping of the Jewish traditional laws, some people do not think the gospel is enough for them. So, they give in to demonic alternatives.

“O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth… Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?”
Galatians 3:1,3

Do not lose confidence in God due to impatience. The just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17). Some people doubt Malachi 3:10-12 and then blaspheme because things are not going as planned despite their faithfulness in the payment of tithes and offerings. Some others now query monogamy as a Christian doctrine. Jesus Christ is however the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrew 13:cool. We cannot modify God’s laws to suit ourselves.

Brethren, nothing should make us fret, not severe persecutions, not trials of faith. God wants you to trust Him completely; there is no problem He cannot resolve. Never seek solutions to your problems from the devil or his agents. Psalm 16:4 says: “Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god….”

Make God your refuge and strength. He is a very present help and will never forsake you (Psalm 46:11, Romans 8:35).

Christianity EtcMake Soul-winning Your Lifestyle by kpakpandoN(op): 7:30am On May 30, 2020
Despite all your endeavours, if you are not actively winning souls, you are courting fruitlessness, and believe me, you don’t want to face the consequences of being fruitless, as stated in John 15:1-2:
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, He purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.”

If you are wise, you will make soul winning a priority in everything you do. When churches organise programmes with great crowds gathered and at the end of the day, there is no call for salvation, I just think “What a waste of time, effort and money.” What is the essence of doing anything at all in the Church if it will not ultimately lead more people to heaven? What is the essence of organising concerts, doing all the jamboree and shouting to praise the Most High God if we do not prioritise His very heart beat – bringing lost souls back to His kingdom? If you are a leader in any capacity in the body of Christ, I am speaking to you now. Whatever you are planning to organise in the Church that will not ultimately win souls to God’s kingdom or help already won souls to stand more firmly for God is a complete waste of time. If you are not bearing fruits, God Himself will take you away from the Vine. What a fearful thing it is if God Himself separates you from Jesus Christ!

In your secular activities too, you must use every opportunity to win souls. Imagine how many terrorists would have been won to Christ, imagine how many parents of wayward children would have trained their children on the right path, if we had been using every available opportunity to win souls.

Anytime I am invited for honorary awards anywhere around the world, as long as I have that microphone in my hand and a few seconds to talk, I will appreciate the givers of the award and remind them that Jesus is coming soon with His own reward. No matter where you are, no matter who you are, no matter what you do, make soul winning your lifestyle.

Christianity EtcRighteous Leaders, Joyful People by kpakpandoN(op): 7:57am On May 29, 2020
If children of God would carefully study the Bible and obey its commandments, the world would be a much better place. God would consistently reveal His mind to them and expressly answer their prayers. By the grace of the Almighty, anyone conversant with the history and development of the Redeemed Christian Church of God will agree without any doubt that God has constantly revealed His mind to guide us in this Church. May His name be praised forevermore in the mighty name of Jesus.

One clear spiritual principle God revealed to His people, is that supplications, prayers, and intercessions be made for leaders and people in authority at all levels. Unfortunately, many of us do not know the importance of praying for our leaders. 1st Timothy 2:1-2 says
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quite and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”

Foremost, we are to seek God’s face to give us righteous leaders. Samuel would have erroneously anointed Eliab if not for God’s guidance. Thank God he listened and obeyed (1st Samuel 16:6-7). Who knows what would have befallen Israel if Eliab or any of David’s other brothers had been crowned king?

Secondly, prayer helps leaders to provide good governance, resulting in a quiet, peaceable, and prosperous life for the people. Leaders are targets of wicked physical and spiritual attacks for the simple reason that any defeat suffered by a leader will have a ripple effect on the whole community (Zechariah 13:7).

The devil always makes use of this method in his warfare against nations. That was the case in 1st Chronicles 21:1: “And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.” This error led to the death of seventy- thousand people in 1st Chronicles 21:14.

Let us specifically ask God to give us righteous leaders. Righteousness exalts a nation (Proverbs 14:34) and this should start from the people in authority.

As we intensify prayers for our leaders today, our joy shall indeed be full and our nation shall be exalted in the mighty name of Jesus.

Christianity EtcGod Will Reward You by kpakpandoN(op): 7:02am On May 28, 2020
Expecting reciprocal help from those you have helped may not be wise. God does not always work that way.
“For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans the same?”
Matthew 5:46

In Matthew 10:42, Jesus promises a reward to whoever gives a drink to any young defenceless person for the gospel’s sake. This is indeed encouraging and reassuring.

Going by this, as children of God, we must do good to all men, regardless of their affiliations. That way, we will be like our imperial Father who causes the rain to fall and sun to shine on both the good and the evil.

Sometime ago, a Christian couple fed an unbelieving young man. The gesture eventually made him give his life to Christ. Today, that young man is the founder of a successful Christian organisation with many branches across Nigeria. Imagine the effects of one good deed.

Jesus warned against doing good deeds because of the praise of men (Matthew 6:1-6). For many years, Christians generally adhered to this. However, things are changing really fast today. Some people even publicise their trips to motherless babies’ homes. Jesus say in Matthew 6:2:
“Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward”

The Lord wants you to always do good to your neighbours. This way, you will show you are a true child of your Father. “….he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.” (Proverbs 14:21). Follow peace with all men and show kindness to everyone. God will surely reward you.
