This question, as rhetorical as it seems, is one of the most emotional wrecking and gut wretching question that we humans has severally asked.

We try to understand God, but fail inevitably in this quest. We try to fathom His ways but yet!, can't comprehend any of his activities. Several times, we've wondered if God gives to take, or give for momentary happiness.

This question, is usually provoked when an irreversible occurrence has taken place, usually death.
Why does He do what He does?, we try to ask, but yet are left with no response.

As Christians, we expect to be spared, pardoned or maybe granted a form of opportunity to escape but unfortunately, we are the "species" that suffers the most.

How can i serve God and still be subjected to suffering? Recently an aunt of mine was busy leading the church's choir meanwhile that same instance, her husband was being shot just few kilometers away. Occurrences like this make one ask questions, dare God, challenge His leadership, etc but yet we can't change anything.
Truth is, we are helpless, vulnerable, totally blank to the next occurrence or activity.
All we are left with is this phrase- or is it a question? whatever it is, we can only ask yet expecting no answer.... "God why??"

I suggest that you be honest with her and tell her in the simplest way ever.. Afterall, She is your friend.

OR better still,
you can simply be like, ....."honestly babe, your breath takes my breath away".....
